  1. I have an old cupon for buy one get one fries at Tim Horton's I can throw in. It did expire in 2011, but unless they read the fine print, the NHL will probably be none the wiser.

This is a first which I heard of a coffee/breakfast shop having such coupons.

No such deals exist here. Not at Krispy Kreme. Not at Winchell's. Not at Yum-Yum's. I don't know about such shops on the east-coast (Dunkin'), but I'm pretty sure they don't have those deals, either.

  2. It could have been worse they could have put Danny Heatley on the cover of a video game :P

To be fair, that wasn't an NHL decision.

Picking a cover athlete for NHL 2004 proved to be problematic. Joe Thornton was the original choice but after he was brought up on assault charges, he was removed and replaced by Dany Heatley for the game's first shipments. After Heatley's car crash that killed his Atlanta Thrashers team-mate, Dan Snyder, EA removed him and replaced the cover with Joe Sakic but not before a large number of units had already been shipped. As a result, both covers (Heatley and Sakic) made it into circulation.

  3. So I'm trying to update (or at least polish) my profile, the one people see when posting. Recently, I got awarded the "Longest Post of the Day" for a post on the Gear Grinder section (Lounge), and I want to put a link under my signature to direct to my posting which got me that award, just like other people have URL link redirects for their awards on the CCSLC.

How do I do this? I'm having some trouble setting this up.

You understand that longest post of the day isn't a good thing, right?

Do I care if other people care that the "Longest Post" ribbon has no merit? Nope, not phased by other's opinions. This is just a start. A morale booster. I know everyone's gunning for those "Post of the Day" title belts. This is just something to polish on my profile for right now.

  4. In summary then, a town so in debt that it is 31 policemen and a whole fire station short of what it should have has voted to continue to pump money into a hockey franchise, in order that they can be anchor tenant on, and therefore 'save', a strip mall which is currently failing even with them there.

FWIW Westgate had its best performance during the lockouts. Probably because visitors weren't pissing their money away on discounted hockey tickets and vending.

When people buying discounted tickets and vending is considered "pissing away" money, you know your community has a horrible finance department.

Or you know your community is in Arizona.

  5. By the way, should we change the thread title to Arizona Coyotes now?

Arizona Coyotes Episode II: The Blundering

Coincidentally, the most famous "Episode II" nomenclature (Star Wars) was the worst-performing of its corresponding series.

If each of you were more interested in your personal local governmental authority and in Robert's Rules, as opposed to the issues of the elected officials of Glendale, North America would be a slightly better place.

This just sounds like Jim Rome undressing an emailer after the usual "make the world a better place" spiel.

"...by getting rid of soccer, the worst sport in the history of the universe."

    -Jim Rome
