Did they just buy that banner from a Sac Kings representative through Craigslist and change "we" to "to"? -
It could have been worse they could have put Danny Heatley on the cover of a video game
To be fair, that wasn't an NHL decision.
Picking a cover athlete for NHL 2004 proved to be problematic. Joe Thornton was the original choice but after he was brought up on assault charges, he was removed and replaced by Dany Heatley for the game's first shipments. After Heatley's car crash that killed his Atlanta Thrashers team-mate, Dan Snyder, EA removed him and replaced the cover with Joe Sakic but not before a large number of units had already been shipped. As a result, both covers (Heatley and Sakic) made it into circulation.OITGDEASPORTS.

Maybe they'll move to Quebec City or Salt Lake City.
Or Cleveland.
And merge with the Panthers to form another Minneapolis team, to then form, indirectly, another Bay Area team 20 years later.

You cannot be ing serious...
---
The funniest/stupidest/confoundingest/NHLest thing is that Seattle is still going to get an expansion team out of all of this...
And no bone will be thrown to aid the Quebec City cause in all of this. At least not right now.

So I'm trying to update (or at least polish) my profile, the one people see when posting. Recently, I got awarded the "Longest Post of the Day" for a post on the Gear Grinder section (Lounge), and I want to put a link under my signature to direct to my posting which got me that award, just like other people have URL link redirects for their awards on the CCSLC.
How do I do this? I'm having some trouble setting this up.
You understand that longest post of the day isn't a good thing, right?
Do I care if other people care that the "Longest Post" ribbon has no merit? Nope, not phased by other's opinions. This is just a start. A morale booster. I know everyone's gunning for those "Post of the Day" title belts. This is just something to polish on my profile for right now.

Is Seattle the NHL's equivalent to the NFL using Los Angeles, too?
Arizona Coyotes doesn't sound as good as Phoenix Coyotes. Same terrible franchise, worse name.
Phoenix Cardinals sounded better, too.
So how do you two feel about the "Phoenix Diamondbacks?"

The fact that this forum/board switched names completely shows our vile anger towards the precedent these people have set at protecting their pet projects.

In summary then, a town so in debt that it is 31 policemen and a whole fire station short of what it should have has voted to continue to pump money into a hockey franchise, in order that they can be anchor tenant on, and therefore 'save', a strip mall which is currently failing even with them there.
FWIW Westgate had its best performance during the lockouts. Probably because visitors weren't pissing their money away on discounted hockey tickets and vending.
When people buying discounted tickets and vending is considered "pissing away" money, you know your community has a horrible finance department.
Or you know your community is in Arizona.

By the way, should we change the thread title to Arizona Coyotes now?
Arizona Coyotes Episode II: The Blundering
Coincidentally, the most famous "Episode II" nomenclature (Star Wars) was the worst-performing of its corresponding series.
If each of you were more interested in your personal local governmental authority and in Robert's Rules, as opposed to the issues of the elected officials of Glendale, North America would be a slightly better place.
This just sounds like Jim Rome undressing an emailer after the usual "make the world a better place" spiel.
"...by getting rid of soccer, the worst sport in the history of the universe."

So what was the hook-line clincher at this meeting? Johnny Rocket's? The firefighters? The strip mall? The University of Phoenix? That chick with the knockers?
God damn, this all sounds like a telenovela.
Or a murder mystery.
-
Well, you guys really :censored:ed yourselves over for the future, and for what? Hope you're :censored:ing happy, Glendale.
I say the exact same thing to Congress.

Yikes. I'm bummed we're not getting hockey here, but at least we have a functioning police force.
Good night and good luck, Glendale.
Knowing the sheer incompetence by all running the Coyotes, maybe it was a blessing that this franchise isn't going up to the Northwest.
-
At least we now have a perfect case study on how to not run a city
Still has a long way to go before they get to "Los Angeles-Villaraigosa-car infraction-DWP fees" status.

The mayor pays $5.51 for five Dollar Menu items. hmm
So the local sales tax is more than 10%. No wonder those people are angry dilweeds.
-
HAHAHHA he bought five items off the dollar menu
It probably came with free Coyotes tickets
And Shane Doan.

THANKS OBAMA
And to think, only I was told to keep the politics out of it.

For the 3rd time tonight...
What in blue hell is in that tap water in Arizona???
-
These dumb :censored:s are going to keep the team in Glendale.
Well that conclusion was an inevitability; this was just a fun and entertaining way of figuring this out.

Hey Mr. Mustard Colored Seersucker finally speaks!
Up next after is Mrs. Worchesterchesterchesterchestershire.

Talk about a stall tactic...
"I've got this email, which I didn't write, from a guy, who I found interesting, and this email, which is relevant, goes as such, in just a moment, here's the email, which isn't mine:"
Sounds like the quintessential, late-1990s AOL/Hotmail, teenage chatter lingo.

wait.. baseball.. didn't those Spring Training facilities in Glendale do even worse than Jobing.com Arena?
Wouldn't think so, since you have fans from all across the U.S. seeing their teams perform in March. What the hell kind of fan vibe do you have going on at the arena?
-
No, no, we no need to pass $15 million to taxpayers.
Somehow, I think these lawmakers would use Lemon Pledge in their Coyotes negotiations.

Relevent
Sentiments from that last slide felt by environmentalists, engineers and scientists alike.

Do I hear somebody's iPhone vibrating? Who let all these yuppies into this meeting with their Starbucks to tweet about it?

This is a first which I heard of a coffee/breakfast shop having such coupons.
No such deals exist here. Not at Krispy Kreme. Not at Winchell's. Not at Yum-Yum's. I don't know about such shops on the east-coast (Dunkin'), but I'm pretty sure they don't have those deals, either.
