  1. I hate the 1990-2008 Red Sox road uniforms and everyone's inexplicable love affair with them.

There. There, I said it. They were nice in the 90s, but grew outdated by the time the update came around.

I think with the new road script in those colors and red placket piping, it would be great. OR a move that the Sox could make which would be surprising, but awesome is get a red crown, blue B, blue brimmed hat and wear it on the road with the current roadies with the blue script. I think that would look epic, but that's really for another thread, not here.

  2. Wrong again, Lights Oot. The side panels are ugly, the color scheme was one red/black team too many for a team that was already so well established as royal blue and gold, the goat head is ugly, and the shoulder yoke going so low as to include the nameplate was a bad idea.

I thought Lights Out was talking about the Hawks?

  3. Man, that's obviously a fake. And Kessel still signed it? AND the seller wants $800 for it? Unreal.

I know the point of the thread is anti-counterfeit jerseys, but let's be real: is a player really going to refuse to sign a jersey just because the letters are not in the correct font, or the word mark is crooked, or there are some loose strings?

However, that is a very good point that you made (later post) that there's a very strong likelihood that the signature is fake also. Its seems more likely that somebody makes fake jerseys with fake signatures than a fan buys a counterfeit jersey, gets it signed, and puts it on eBay.

EDIT: Also, I just realized that counterfeit is spelled incorrectly in the thread title. The e is missing.

  4. I think the Chicago Bears have some of the most dull and boring uniform sets in all of sports.

You are entitled to your opinion, even if it might be deemed extremely "unpopular" if you asked most football fans.

There is something to be said about classic and classy football uniforms that stand the test of time. Not every team can or should be Oregon.

Not all classic sets have to be dull and uninspired. IMO the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics, Detroit Red Wings, Green Bay Packers, LA Lakers, just to name a few have classic looks that also look good. To me, the Bears uniforms are just too boring and lack any appeal, but once again, unpopular opinion.

With all due respect I fail to see what is so much more "inspiring" about the above mentioned uniforms. At least the Bears utilize TWO primary colors apart from white...THREE of the teams you listed don't. You can make a case that a couple of those jerseys are about as "uninspiring" as you can get. Again, you are entitled to your opinion as am I. For example, I think the Yankees have one of the most classic home jerseys in sports, yet one of the most dull and bland road jerseys. I'm sure its not a popular opinion but its one I stand by. To each his own.

I would agree, the Yankees road uniform is bland. I was specifically referring to the pinstripes though, as I probably should have specified. However bringing up the Yankees roads actually helps. While they're classic, I just don't think that they look good. That is the same way that I feel about the Bears uniforms. It can't really be argued, as it's an opinion, but that's the closest comparison as to how I feel about the Bears' uniforms.

  6. As a similiar example, many people think that NFL tickets are too expensive, however at the first sight of a fake ticket a person is not getting into a game why is that practice not tolerated, but fake jereys etc... are?

The reason that I don't think this is a very good comparison is that if you buy a fake ticket, you are screwing over another fan who paid money for his. However if you buy a fake jersey and wear it, what is the harm that you're doing to those who paid money for an authentic jersey.

I've said it before in this thread, but nobody that buys counterfeit jerseys feels that it isn't wrong, doesn't know that it's illegal, or feel "entitled" to a jersey at a lower price. Fan who buy them just don't see them as bad as other crimes, with fake tickets easily being one of them. For right or wrong, it's fair to say that most people would see screwing another fan out of a chance to see a game as worse than buying a fake jersey, which would *barely* hurt big-time companies like Nike, Reebok, Majestic, Adidas, etc.

  7. Way, way back I promised to post pictures of my Durant China counterfeit. After a long wait, here they are. They main reason that I bought this China counterfeit is because I can't find any Kevin Durant Sonics gear from any legitimate sales.

Sure, there are some obvious flaws, most notably the orange piping around the neck instead of yellow, but for $28, I'm happy with what I got.

  8. Basically, it's impossible to even make an argument with some of the stubborn people in this thread. A typical exchange goes as:

Person 1: If I can get a jersey for cheap, I don't care that it's illegal and I'm going to buy it.

Person 2: You're saying that there is no legal issue with buying counterfit jerseys, you are entitled to a jersey at a lower price, and doing things illegal isn't bad. It is also ok to kill people. That is exactly what you're saying.

Wow, that's so far off you have no idea.

BTW, one of the members on your 'side' is the one that started comparing one illegal activity to another with his, "well, you speed so you're just as guilty because you commit crime too."

But it really isn't. Every time I've posted in this thread my message has had the same general gist: If I can buy a jersey for less money from a China counterfit site, I don't care that it's illegal, and I'm going to do it.

    The responses I get:

-You're claiming that you're entitled to a jersey at a lower price

-You're saying that doing illegal things is ok, so it's also OK to rob a bank

-You're saying there's no legal issue with what you're doing

^NO! I'm not saying any of that. "If I can buy a jersey for less money from a China counterfit site, I don't care that it's illegal, and I'm going to do it." - period. It's a simple as that. And a question that I have for everyone so against others buying one counterfit jersey: Why do you care? In what way will this affect your life? Yes, I know it's illegal, but it really can't be compared to murder or robbing a bank. If anything, buying a counterfit jersey is equivilant to smoking pot. Yeah, it's illegal, but why would it really bother one's neighbors?

And yes, I'm prepared for all of the angry and sarcastic responses that I'm going to get for this.

  10. The reason people support counterfeit jerseys is because they can get an expensive product at a reasonable price. Simple as that.

No, they can get a cheap and poorly made knock-off of an expensive product at a reasonable price.

My china counterfit supersonics jersey is fine material-wise. As for errors, the piping around the neck is orange instead of yellow but for $28 dollars, I'll take it.

Call china counterfits whatever you want, but Brass summed it up perfectly. And as for fan, "thinking that they're entitled to a jersey for less money," that's not the case. It's more of, fans having an opportunity to purchase a jersey for significantly less, and although it's legal, feeling bad that they're ripping off a monopoly industry that make jerseys.

So its all about the size of the company that you are "sticking it to"

RBK or Nike is ok to screw but not "Ma and Pa's Jersey Shoppe"?

What it seems to boil down to is:

If you really, really, really want a jersey its ok to take part in and endorse (with your dollars) IP theft.

    yes

I adore the Flyers uniforms. The captaincy patches, the sleeve numbers, the discolored nameplates, the everything.

I didn't realize that was an unpopular opinion. I'd have to agree with it, the Flyers look great. Other unpopular opinions:

    1. I don't like the look of the Colorado Avalanche, graphics or colors

    2. (Not about sports logos, but was being discussed on the last page) The episode of Family Guy with the Surfin' Bird is not funny IMO

  13. This was the best Warriors uniform set and color scheme:

    warriors.jpg

I like this set much more than the update of it:

    http://sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=y4b0eg7itey1fu1vt9279gh0n

    Ugly generic garbage^

The uniforms that you posted were actually a pretty cool set, it just didn't say "Golden State Warriors" to me. I feel like now, the Warriors are on the right track. But as someone else mentioned, that look would be good for another team, just not the Warriors.

  14. How many guys have purchased fakes, said they would post pictures and then never did. I think the lack of pictures is pretty telling of the quality. People have NO excuse to knowingly buy fakes, especially with sales like the recent $100 M&N sale.

I promised that I would post pictures, but I've had problems because I don't have a very good camera. I bought a Seattle Sonics Kevin Durant Swingman green road jersey for $28, and I was actually happy with what I got. There is one error which is so bad that it's comical, (which hopefully you'll see soon in this thread when I can get pics up) but for $28 I'll take it.

I'll try to post pictures as soon as I can, I promise.
