  1. Heard you on the LogoCast. I loved the story behind the Suns' 1992-2000 look. That has to be one of my all time favourite basketball identities.

  2. The addition of black and silver back in 1992-93 was a sophisticated update for the Knicks. The NYK, the belt and piping and side panels were a terrific update. The new update seems to have taken the contrast out of the uni sets rendering them less stylish. And in the fashion capital of the US, a bad idea.
  3. Brown is just a tough color to use in sports. Yes Hershey Bears have their identity tied to a chocolate empire, but the need to be ultra-literal ultimately hurts the final identity.
  4. Rattkers helmet.
  5. That gold is bordering on the Arizons Rattkers copper don't you think? A lot of red in the color is causing it to shift to that shade.
  6. Reminds me a lot of this: Talk about minimalist.
  7. Sometimes a wordmark in the logo makea the perfect transition onto the basketball jersey front. Perfect example is the SONICS. Looks great. The Vancouver GRIZZLIES font also worked great on the Grizzlies expansion team uni. A lot of fans don't feel the same but the reality is that the Grizzlies uniforms were a very solid team jersey. I also wondered why the Clippers never used their logo wordmark from the early '80's since it actually works nicely. Then I realized I was talking about the Clippers... Ugh. But you've raised a really smart insightful topic.
  8. GFB. Thank you for the kind words. The orange and green stripes? Okay, you asked... actually I bet not many football helmets have this type of meaning... * The lion in the flag represents the Sinhala race. * The sword of the lion represents the sovereignty of the country. * The noble eight fold path of Buddhism is signified by the lion's tail. * Curly hair on the lion's head indicates religious observance, wisdom and meditation. * The beard denotes purity of words. * The handle of the sword highlights the elements of water, fire, air and earth. * The nose indicates intelligence. * The two front paws purport to purity in handling wealth. * The verticle stripe of orange represent the minority Tamil race and the green verticle stripe the minority Muslim race. * The four virtues of kindness: KINDNESS, FRIENDLINESS, HAPPINESS, EQUANIMITY are also represented in the flag. * The border round the flag, which is yellow in color, represents other minor races. * The bo-leaves at the four corners of the flag represent Buddhism and it's influence on the nation. They also stand for the four virtues - Kindness, Friendliness, Happiness and Equanimity. * The maroon colored portion of the flag manifests the other minor religions. Read more:
  9. Right. Exactly. Like two New York Giants. One team plays soccer and the other American style football. The Football Team is one with the helmets for clarification.
  10. Yes. Right now the EFLI is at 10 teams and has plans to expand further. Nagpur and Colombo are in for the first season as well as Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and Punjab.
  11. Braves have some interesting thing up their sleeve... or something like that.
  12. Bobcats Logo and Uniform. Still one of the best logos and unis... IMO. :-)
  13. The Colombo LIons from Sri Lanka are the 9th EFLI team. Logo and helmet produced by Gameplan Creative, Chicago.
  14. Name stopped being relevant when the black tiger looked more like a zebra than a tiger no matter how hard we tried to make it work. Decision was an easy one. Nagpur being the "Tiger Capital of the World" makes final decision the correct one.
  15. Nets have one of the best logos in sports. Too bad it's going to be whacked.
