Next up in the California Division.... a grey team from Division 3.
REDLANDS COUGARSIn the NFL there's a BFBS problem and yes in the NCAA there's a GFGS problem too but here in Redlands territory, it's their base color along a maroon that i felt that wasn't dark enough so I made those changes.... not much different from IRL but the grey is needed in contrast to the more colorful teams in the division.
Redlands are the bulldogs, not sure where you got cougars from.

Looks like we already got ourselves a fan culture! It's gonna be a really rowdy area, with neighboring Pendleton being home to a rodeo

Staying close to the Columbia River for this next team...
North Division
Mt. Hood SC
Sandy, Oregon
Championships: 0
DETAILS:
Here's the YouTube video that I reference on the clash kit explainer: https://youtu.be/g8ay9OPHUYI. Peter Dibble has some excellent mini-documentaries about Oregon history, and I'm definitely referencing another one of his videos for a future team
Slam dunk as always

UC SAN DIEGO TRITONS
I didn't want to go to say Oregon/Washington for the West division of this Club Football but I did want to go to San Diego... which is a stretch tbh but the Tritons were one of the 12 schools invited to the Club Football league mostly because of a good look and the university's endowment is large and fitting.
So just reusing the same concept for two different threads?

No team has won the natty () in non-traditional uniforms yet! Certainly won’t be TCU!

That still takes time and money to do, it’s not just clicking and filling, and with them being animated in some applications so it’s not just photoshop, it takes actual graphic design software like unreal engine to perform and create.
It’s ESPN they can afford it

Oh no, it’s Alabama vs Ohio State. A matchup absolutely no one could have predicted. What ever shall we do?
A matchup like Georgia-TCU is refreshing and not mind numbing. I hope next year is PAC-12 vs ACC and the year after is AAC vs Big 12.
I’m not disagreeing with you? I hate that it’s Bama OSU every year, I absolutely love that an underdog snuck in. I’m saying that you are acting like you have some niche opinion which is clearly held by everyone No one wants Bama osu that isn’t an alum of either school, duh. But these two teams (+Clemson) have clearly been the class of the NCAA in that time… so what’s your actual point?

Does this mean Tennessee might break out the orange helmets again?
I’d assume white-white-orange

Keep your head up, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series so far, and hope to see more soon, however, take all the time you need. It’s a shame to see a fellow artist get absolutely raked over the coals for a simple mistake, especially by someone who can’t finish their own projects…. but I digress………
Self Edit: it’s thanksgiving, no need to stoop to this level for a response. Happy holidays y’all only love

Trust me I would of been all kicks for Harambe tribute if the offended karens and stuarts of the world don't exist.... ((locked up would be better))
Anyone else having a stroke reading this?

My favorite week so far, lets get started.
1) Georgia vs Florida
Tasty!
2) West Virginia vs TCU
Best POSSIBLE combos from both teams, this looked spectacular.
3) Uconn vs Boston College
Classic Big East lookin' matchup.
There were a few matchups in the "Close but no cigar" category. Syracuse vs Notre Dame (white pants from Syracuse woulda done it), Cal vs Oregon (yellow pants from Cal woulda done it), Pitt vs North Carolina (white pants from UNC, yellow from Pitt woulda done it).
Dishonorable Mention: Louisville vs Wake Forest
Disgusting

#1: Ohio State vs Iowa
One IV drip of this please.
#2: Louisville vs Pittsburgh
Bridgewater era uniforms are way stronger for Louisville, but its fine enough and the colors are gorgeous. Best case for each team, one of those "sum is greater than the parts" matchups.
#3: SMU vs Cincinnati
Juxtaposed, this is a "parts are greater than their sum". I just really like each of these looks, and they look pretty good together as well.
Honorable Mention: Wyoming vs Utah State
Utah State just didn't do enough. Wyoming is a top 3 look in CFB, but need more from the other side.
Dishonorable Mention #1: Clemson vs Syracuse
It sucks because this is each team's best look, just doesn't pair well together.
Dishonorable Mention #2: Oklahoma State vs Texas
There are so many elements I like, but the end result is pretty brutal. More than anything my frustration with the pokes continues.

Three categories this week- "Best Of", "Dishonorable Mentions", and "Ruined A Good Thing". Iowa State v Texas and FSU v Clemson get some honorable mentions, but didn't excite me quite enough to get on the list. Duke v UNC barely misses a Dishonorable mention. Let's get rolling!
Best Of
#1: Florida vs LSU
Please inject this directly into my veins.
#2: Michigan State vs Wisconsin
I don't like teams that mix traditional/modern striping/elements. Sparty has a really modern set, but likes to screw around with traditional helmets and scripts (Oklahoma state/Mizzou also big time culprits of this). Pick one! Even with this, it was a gorgeous matchup in the sun. Wisconsin should always go red pants on the road???
#3: Tennessee vs Alabama
Classic, I'm such a sucker for the creamsicle orange.
Ruined A Good Thing
BYU vs Arkansas
Had BYU gone classic blues without a stupid spray-painted cougar on the helmet, this could've been a best of. contender.
Dishonorable Mentions
Oklahoma vs Kansas
This is a legitimate contender for worst uniform of the year. It is so desperate, so lazy, and so pointless. Kansas looks fine, but OU singlehandedly dragged them down. Nice work.
TCU vs OK State
TCU's first blood red uniforms (the pro combat ones) were so superior to these monstrosities. Quick fixes that need to be done- Black, not anthracite for the base. Red only as a small trim color, not splashed all over the place. Boom, done. OK State has the messiest, most disconnected set in the NCAA. Never uses the same striping, helmet finish, or logo, never using orange, always using chrome and black way too much. Woof.

Those Oklahoma uniforms are atrociously lazy and desperate

Iowa State is 100% to blame for making this list. Just me but 1) I think Kansas State's look is underrated and 2) I think Iowa State's primary look is the best in the country (seriously).
This would have been my easy #1 for the week (if not the season) and Iowa State took a big fat dump on it. (And they seem to wear that uniform a lot, too.)Best look in the country??? I think their brand is really stale as a whole, great colors but their logo stinks and their uniform needs a little more oomph. If they had worn red, probably an honorable mention with the slate this last week!
13 hours ago, Germanshepherd said:No fan of OK ST’s look, but Tech in the throwbacks does enough heavy lifting to take that off my personal worst list
I think their throwback logo is pretty brutal, but the set itself is more than ok. Paired together with OK state was unlucky, too scrimmage-y and no pop.
2 hours ago, -Akronite- said:As much as I hate Iowa State going all black, no way does it top 2 or 3 on that dishonorable list.
The Tennessee v LSU game actually looks good to me, just held back by knowing both these teams have gorgeous primaries.
Agree to disagree, anytime Iowa state wears that they’ll be in the bottom. It’s the most desperate, gimmicky looking (but at the same time totally lazy) uniform in the history of college football.
I wouldn’t say looks good, but you’re right in the fact I was more frustrated by what could’ve been. Tennessee’s gray set is fine, wish LSU didn’t wear all white for this one. Too grayscale
