  1. Way-too-early thoughts on the Ravens' uniform matchups at home next year:

    • vs CLE - Potential MNF game...black/white vs TBD (Let's wait on the Browns new set to decide)
    • vs PIT - Black/purple vs Steelers white/yellow
    • vs CIN - Purple/white vs Bengals Color Rush would be interesting
    • vs KC - Though I expect this game to be a SNF matchup at some point during the season, I predict purple/white vs Chiefs white/red
    • vs NYG - I'd like to see the Giants wear the Color Rush white against a non-division team. Maybe we'll see it vs Ravens in purple/black
    • vs DAL - This has potential to be an early season game. If it's a 1pm game within the first two weeks, expect white/purple or white/black to force the Cowboys into the special-occasion blue and grey. Otherwise, all-purple or all-black if primetime vs the classic Dallas white/grey
    • vs JAX - Purple/white vs Jags in white/teal or white/black
    • vs TEN - Assuming the Color Rush comes back next year, I say they wear it against the Titans white/navy.
  2. I just entered to win a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge from @TechnoBuffalo, @c4etech, @ColdFusion_TV and @28mobilecom https://t.co/Xn6MIi6yb0

  3. It's my #Twitterversary! I have been on Twitter for 7 years (since 17 Feb 2009). And you? https://t.co/VO2qoygEkj

  4. Way-too-early 2024 Ravens uniform schedule forecast: I offer my best-case scenarios or matchups I'd like to see on both sides of the field for next season.

    • AFC West opponents: They host the Broncos and Raiders, so no surprise as to what they will wear. I think the Ravens should wear the non-CR all-purple vs DEN, purple/white vs LV. As for games at the Chargers and Chiefs, that's another story. Highly doubt Ravens/Bolts is put into a primetime spot again unless it's TNF. Even then, I expect LAC to do it right with light blue/yellow against the Ravens' white/purple. Ravens/Chiefs is almost guaranteed to be Monday Night or Sunday Night and I have a feeling KC would come out all-red if that's the case. At minimum, if it's only set for the late afternoon, then I like the odds of seeing white/purple at red/white again.
    • NFC East opponents: Visiting the Giants and Cowboys in 2024, but let's start with the latter. I would prefer to just keep it straightforward: purple/white vs white/silver. I constantly worry that this game could find its way to Thanksgiving, and if so, I'd think we see CR all-purple vs the 90s throwback white/white. As for when the Ravens get up to MetLife, I don't know what I want to see them wear, but I kind of want the Giants to go out of their way and wear their home throwbacks. Then, there's home games against the Eagles and Commanders. For the yearly throwaway purple/black, wear it against Washington. It won't hurt a soul. With the Eagles, I would like to see white/green against black/purple. Yes, I know the Ravens haven't worn purple against Philly since 2008 at home and 2012 on the road, but something's gonna give, especially if this makes it to a late afternoon or primetime. Black/purple is best when it's getting or already dark, not at 1pm like we've seen the last two seasons.
    • Opponents inherited from 2023: We ended up drawing at Houston,  at Tampa Bay, and vs the Bills. Hoping for a chance to wear white against the Texans, avoid seeing the Bucs wear all-pewter, and if in primetime, black jerseys against the Bills.
    • Division rivals: I don't think we'll see another Bengals/Ravens game at night when it's scheduled, BUT I wonder if Cincy would try going white-tiger at Baltimore. The rest of the matchups, including the other game at Cincy, are straight-forward. Best combo to wear is white/purple in the road games. Bengals go with black/white when they clash in Paycor, Cleveland wears orange pants in both faceoffs, and Pittsburgh doesn't wear the all-black CR when they meet at Heinz Acrisure.
  5. Am I the only one who is slightly fascinated when networks used  teams' alternate logos more than their primaries? The most recent example I can think of is how the Sixers' 76-and-star-circle logo is used so often, the primary roundel logo is only ever seen on ESPN's scoreboard.

The logo often seen on the RSNs, TNT, and NBA TV:

What you see on ESPN & ABC:

  6. For anyone who's visited the MLB Shop website, have you noticed the lack of road replicas throughout the league? I whipped around all 30 teams and only 9 have them. I would love an Orioles road replica, but for the last 3-4 years, they haven't even bothered to sell any. What a hunt to find something for my $20 T-Mobile coupon

  7. General thought across the big 4 sports in America, but which league would be most at risk to end up with jerseys getting more sponsors on it or them taking up more space a la the EPL across the pond?

The NFL, as they seem to be getting greedier by the season. Extra playoff spot and game, etc. And there's nothing wrong with them doing those two things in particular, but adding jersey ads would be crossing the line.

  8. I'd start a Fanatics thread or post in MLB 2023 changes, but I'll play it safe and discuss here. The Orioles announced that they're basically letting Fanatics run the team store (at the ballpark) starting next year. Someone on Twitter mentioned that other teams have been doing the same as far as their in-venue retail shops, so who else gave in across the Big 4 leagues?

  9. I'll mention it here since the MLB 2021 thread is locked while everyone goes on about the soon-to-be Cleveland Guardians:

Orioles going all black vs the Nats is an interesting move. No orange on Saturday or the classic home white on Sunday. The fifth time (and second at home) they've broken off the standard weekend uniform plan this season if memory serves me right. As I've said before, it's quite a bold move considering the O's have went off-schedule with the uniforms a few times this season, both on the road and at home. Wonder if this was a response to the Nats forcing them to wear grey all through the series in May back at Nats Park.

Also starting to think the team is opening up to maybe ditching the regular Black Fridays and Orange Saturdays and instead freelancing with when to wear their different uniforms.

  10. I'm glad this MLB lockout is over...now I just need to know when Fanatics will restock Orioles jerseys so I can get the black alternate. Or maybe the store at the yard will put the Majestic/Nike jerseys on sale just before Nike drops their full-time MLB uniform design

  11. I've been looking back at my black Friday purchase of a replica Orioles road jersey wondering if I got the best deal.

At the team store, the jersey I got $130, but after a 30% off deal and sales tax, it came up to just under $100. I try to compare it to Fanatics' 20% off deal on orders upwards of $75. On the site, the same jersey is $115, but I don't know if the discount is applied before or after shipping and taxes nor do I recall how much standard shipping is for a jersey of any kind.

  12. Kind of a :censored:post since the 2024 NFL season's uniform thread isn't gonna open anytime soon, but I was in a random discussion yesterday and someone noticed that in 2025 for the interconference same-place games, the pattern does NOT change, meaning that we get a repeat of the following 2021 matchups in 2 years:

    • NFC West at AFC North
    • NFC South at AFC South
    • NFC East at AFC East
    • NFC North at AFC West

I find it very strange that the NFL doesn't have plans in place to flip the hosting teams every 4 years. You could end up with a situation where, for instance, if it works out that way, Rams at Ravens could happen in 2025, making that the third time they met in Baltimore in 6 years. You would think it should change up enough to ensure it's not the same home teams every go-round.

  13. Pretty sure I'm not the only one to share my thoughts, but ads on the baselines of NBA courts look hideous.

  14. So I did something out of my ordinary: I bought the O's postseason shirts at the Team Store today. Normally, I prefer to hold out on buying playoff gear *unless* the team of interest wins a title. But it's gotta be the 2023 postseason script font, having attended both games where the team got to put the "Take October" and division champs shirts, and moving away from Baltimore for a new job elsewhere that pushed me into this decision. The only doubt I had was whether or not it'd be worth wearing it out down the road if it ended anywhere short of the AL pennant/making the WS, especially now since the season ended in an ALDS sweep by Texas, and maybe wearing either shirt could be the same case as, for instance, a Falcons fan wearing 2016 NFC Champions gear knowing very well how Super Bowl LI ended. I guess I missed the SL forum poll on wearing those playoff/postseason shirts...but here's to the hope these shirts last me a good while!

  15. So now that the 2023 postseason is upon us, I'm slightly interested in how the O's go about their uniform lineup throughout October, especially since they've tinkered a bit more/given leeway to opponents' uniforms at times.

    • Most of all, I know many are glad the CC uniforms will NOT make an appearance. Then again, that should be a given with the time of year we're at now and the fact that the CC's are mostly a step away from the O's color palette.
    • Assuming Saturday is still in tact for Game 1, I wonder if it'll be Opening Day 2.0 and they wear white at home or do they give the ballpark a full orange-out with the team wearing their orange alternate (and likely fans in the stands getting towels to match).
    • Can't speak too much on the potential AL opponents that'll give the best uniform matchups since TB, HOU & MIN wear navy in some form, TOR & TEX have a solid blue, and HOU creates the potential for an overload of orange. I am bummed that SEA didn't make it though. O's-M's in a playoff series could have looked wonderful.
  16. Took the time to shop the O's team store at the Yard yesterday. I thought the Fanatics takeover wouldn't be fully complete until after New Year's Day or near Opening Day at the very least, but they already have, probably because they've done this before for a few teams already. Stock-wise, the team store still beats Fanatics/MLB Shop; I was able to buy an blank orange-alt replica, which you can't find on the Fanatics site as of the time I posted this. Same goes for the Fanchain that was all over the team dugout this season.

Discount-wise, I think they'll get more stingy though, or rather the difference between them and the site will be relatively minimal. Last year, while still under team control, all items in-store were 50% (Nike jerseys 30% off) on Black Friday and mind you, the replicas were $130 before any discount. That BF, I got the road replica for roughly $100. Now this year, under Fanatics control, it was 25% off when spending more than $100, with blank replicas priced at $145 before any discount. The orange-alt was about $110 after discount & before MD tax, so I can't complain too much. It'll be interesting to see how much things stay the same or change drastically, if at all, though I most likely am still going to get most of my gear through giveaway games, department stores like Marshalls & Burlington, and consumer marketplaces like Facebook and eBay.

  17. Well...with Chief Wahoo retiring after this season, I think that leaves the smiling Oriole bird as the only "happy" logo left in the Majors...right?

  18. ...and just like that, the extra October money for me is gone.
