Just because a team didn't create an alt (Packers too, with the rumored alt that was shelved) or that a coach is repeating, wait for it, a rumor that he has heard that someone somewhere said something about a second helmet, doesn't necessarily give it credence. What if all of these rumors, repeated multiple times, are from the same uninformed speculation? It's like the recent ESPN 'story' on the trading of Deshawn Watson. A column was written that Houston ought to ask for 3 #1s for him. This article was part of a series of 'here's what each team ought to do'. The braindead folk in the talk show circuit ran with it as something other than 'let's create a list of things that seem like they would make sense' and treated it as 'here's something that has been discussed'.

Listen - I'm not saying that they won't change the one helmet rule. But until I see something from someone within NFL Operations or the NFL Rules Committee saying it is under consideration, it strikes me as something with no traction.

“There will be no change for the 2020 season,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told PFT via email. “There are ongoing discussions for a potential change for the 2021 season, but no decisions have been made.”

Arians talking about it has to give it some credibility, no?

Interesting the Patriots did not create an alt. Doesn’t prove anything but it’s certainly interesting. I think this is more than hear say at this point.

I could see the NFL using this as an NHL Reverse Retro equivalent, but alas, they don’t have the kahonas to do it.

I’d love to see it. It’s kinda what the Patriots did with their color rush.

Multiple helmets should be allowed, and hypotheticals like the Rams abusing the rule to create black helmets shouldn't really scare any of us. After all, most of y'all already despise their look anyways. Seriously though, multiple helmets would allow for some of our favorite throwbacks to actually make a return, as well as smoothing some alternate looks that don't flow smoothly as they exist now, like the White Tiger Bengals or the Chargers in Navy. The benefits of it going away far outweigh any concerns I have of potentially gimmicky stuff.

Yeah kinda odd people are so against it. I really hope it gets changed.

    Washington needs a nickname, period.

As a fan, I still refer to them by the old name with my family members and close friends for one simple reason- saying 'Washington Football Team' or just plain 'Washington' is either a mouthful to say or just comes across as cold/lifeless.

A new nickname will most likely suck but at least it's an identity. One that I will happily get behind and use and buy merchandise.

I guess it’s unpopular here but I love the football team name. Football club would be bad, but something about football team is hilarious. Having only one team that has it, makes it work (wouldn’t want any others).

You can make minor adjustments, just not for redesigns. Like the chargers changed their NOB colors within the 5 years before they redesigned. IRRC I believe Texans added the logo on the back the first Nike year anyways so they’re fine. Also the Texans have a perfect set and shouldn’t change them.

Texans is alright. I think they should switch to color rush top full time and add red pants. That way, they’d actually match the logo.

  7. Probably no chance they switch from black to orange now, but wouldn’t it make more sense for orange to be the primary and black the alt seeing how tigers are orange (if I have to state the obvious here?).

Wear black twice for a big game or primetime, I’d do one black over white and one all black. Wear color rush once on the road.
