Blue socks definitely help this look. They just had to wear white socks the one time they wore the grey pants. The white provides little contrast to the gray and makes it look washed out. It kills me too when the 49ers were white socks with the gold pants. Just wear red. Why does it seem to difficult to wear the right color socks…

I actually don’t mind the Ravens wearing purple/black because at least it’s not mono-purple. The black pants/socks is the issue though with the leotard look. I’m surprised the Ravens didn’t go traditional purple/white though and if they make the SB, it will be interesting to see what uniform they go with. As for the Lions, I almost wonder if MAYBE they go white/blue next week. Given their playoff success in the blue pants, I wouldn’t be shocked PLUS it would be a beautiful matchup against the 49ers. But I could also definitely see them going stupid mono-white as expected. If they make the SB, it will be really interesting…

Agreed. These look much better. I thought white was a very odd, surprising choice. Interestingly, I noticed when the Saints played the Falcons last week, they used black for the Saints box and inverted the quarter/game clock box to white background/black text. Normally it’s a black background/white text like in these photos.

I’ve noticed it more and more the past few seasons. They started off doing it when both teams colors were similar. In CFB, Alabama-Arkansas. Both teams are crimson and white so they’d use both colors accordingly. I still much prefer team colors though. If you need white to distinguish the Steelers from the Bills, then why are you watching the game? Yellow or black would’ve been perfectly fine to use for the Steelers yesterday. I only prefer the use of white in my above example where both teams have similar color schemes.

Not really uniform related, but why does it seems like TV networks now love using white as the background color of their team Graphics for scorebugs? For example, CBS has the Steelers score box shaded white for this Bills game? Is there not enough contrast between blue, red, and white and black and yellow? CBS always used to use yellow or black as the background color. It makes sense when the two teams colors are similar, but not the case in this matchup. I guess it just sort of bugs me. Anyone else notice this?

Not really a shocker, but this Falcons/Saints game is absolutely TERRIBLE. Falcons going all-white vs. Saints in all-black. Both teams also wearing matching socks for the full leggings/leotard effect. Not sure the Falcons black pants would’ve been any better, but it just sucks overall. I wonder what could’ve made this matchup better?? Oh yeah, the Saints GOLD pants… Smdh

Imo, The Saints are the most maddening team right now in terms of uniforms. They literally have one of the leagues best sets (black/white on gold), but week after week refuse to wear them. And as you said, why they always wear gold pants in the preseason only for them to disappear for the whole regular season makes absolutely ZERO sense.

LSU wearing purple jerseys with gold pants today against Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl. I know, I know tradition and all, but man LSU’s purple jerseys are such a great look and should be worn more often. I hate LSU, but it’s always a welcomed surprise to see them in the proper purple uniforms.

It’s really sad and ridiculous that the Saints wore gold pants just ONCE all season… and of course they lost that game. I truly don’t understand the hatred or whatever they have against the gold pants. It’s Like they must not entirely hate them since they wear gold pants for every preseason game, but come regular season it’s like they completely forget they exist. If they can wear them for the entire preseason, what’s wrong with wearing them in the regular season? And don’t feed me this lame BS that the color is bad or off. It isn’t, it’s just not shiny. Every single other football team who wears gold pants now doesn’t have shiny pants. It Doesn’t seem to bother the 49ers (or literally every other gold CFB team). Only the Saints want to make it a big deal.
