  1. I meant the Reebok “pre-Nike” uniforms. Yes, before that it was a much brighter, brassy gold in the 70’s and 80’s.
  2. It’s really sad we’ve reached this point. The Saints should literally ONLY wear their gold pants. And for people who complain about the shade of gold, it’s literally the same pale shade as they wore pre-Nike, only they were shiny then. Yes, even their gold back then was pale.
  3. As for the Saints, you say the helmet is the problem? Are you referring to how the shade of gold doesn’t match?
  4. And the 49ers… Yes there was a point when the 49ers had shiny gold pants too. Last time was in 2008.
  5. I so badly wanted the Lions and Ravens to win, but I’m also pleased that we’ll now be getting a classic, traditional uniform matchup. I hate that it’s a recent SB repeat, but if it means no mono-blue/white mess or mono-black leotard pants again, then it’s a win imo.
  6. God I hope not. This whole uniform superstition is so idiotic. Do teams really think that what they wear is what causes them to win or lose? JFC it’s 2024, come on.
  7. Blue socks definitely help this look. They just had to wear white socks the one time they wore the grey pants. The white provides little contrast to the gray and makes it look washed out. It kills me too when the 49ers were white socks with the gold pants. Just wear red. Why does it seem to difficult to wear the right color socks…
  8. I really hope the Lions go white/blue against the 49ers. Given their playoff success in the blue pants, it COULD happen.
  9. I actually don’t mind the Ravens wearing purple/black because at least it’s not mono-purple. The black pants/socks is the issue though with the leotard look. I’m surprised the Ravens didn’t go traditional purple/white though and if they make the SB, it will be interesting to see what uniform they go with. As for the Lions, I almost wonder if MAYBE they go white/blue next week. Given their playoff success in the blue pants, I wouldn’t be shocked PLUS it would be a beautiful matchup against the 49ers. But I could also definitely see them going stupid mono-white as expected. If they make the SB, it will be really interesting…
  10. The Lions jersey numbers also seem a bit darker gray as well. Sort of the same issue the Saints have with their gold numbers on the black jerseys. They never seem to match the other golds.
  11. At least though the Saints could wear their beautiful throwbacks with the rich gold rather than all-black or all-white…
  12. I thought there was a rule that in the Super Bowl, teams have to wear their primary (traditional) uniforms? Or is that just something I thought was a thing? I can’t remember the last time a Super Bowl team didn’t.
  13. Bucs at Lions could be such a great matchup, but we all know the Lions will go all-blue again unfortunately. It’s their new winning combo!
  14. Agreed. These look much better. I thought white was a very odd, surprising choice. Interestingly, I noticed when the Saints played the Falcons last week, they used black for the Saints box and inverted the quarter/game clock box to white background/black text. Normally it’s a black background/white text like in these photos.
  15. I’ve noticed it more and more the past few seasons. They started off doing it when both teams colors were similar. In CFB, Alabama-Arkansas. Both teams are crimson and white so they’d use both colors accordingly. I still much prefer team colors though. If you need white to distinguish the Steelers from the Bills, then why are you watching the game? Yellow or black would’ve been perfectly fine to use for the Steelers yesterday. I only prefer the use of white in my above example where both teams have similar color schemes.
  16. Not really uniform related, but why does it seems like TV networks now love using white as the background color of their team Graphics for scorebugs? For example, CBS has the Steelers score box shaded white for this Bills game? Is there not enough contrast between blue, red, and white and black and yellow? CBS always used to use yellow or black as the background color. It makes sense when the two teams colors are similar, but not the case in this matchup. I guess it just sort of bugs me. Anyone else notice this?
  17. Didn’t the Lions remove black from the color palette with their new uniforms? But now they want to bring it back?? How about the Lions just not have a Color Rush? I mean aren’t their new “favorite” all-blue and all-white combos enough?? Sheesh.
  18. Might wanna delete the Saints (and Lions) from existence too. No, they did have a few other mix and match combinations this season, but for the most part they heavily favored the plain monochrome combos. And good god that Lions all-gray set. Pure trash. Can we delete that please?
  19. Not really a shocker, but this Falcons/Saints game is absolutely TERRIBLE. Falcons going all-white vs. Saints in all-black. Both teams also wearing matching socks for the full leggings/leotard effect. Not sure the Falcons black pants would’ve been any better, but it just sucks overall. I wonder what could’ve made this matchup better?? Oh yeah, the Saints GOLD pants… Smdh
  20. Imo, The Saints are the most maddening team right now in terms of uniforms. They literally have one of the leagues best sets (black/white on gold), but week after week refuse to wear them. And as you said, why they always wear gold pants in the preseason only for them to disappear for the whole regular season makes absolutely ZERO sense.
  21. Saints confirmed all-black AGAIN Sunday against Atlanta. That means the Saints wore gold pants ONCE all season…
  22. If the Saints came out Sunday wearing black/gold, I might just pass out and think I’m living in a dream… Yes, we’re at that point.
  23. Saints are absolutely gonna go all-black Sunday with playoff implications on the line. No way they go gold. Hell, maybe they even go black over white again like last season lol.
  24. LSU wearing purple jerseys with gold pants today against Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl. I know, I know tradition and all, but man LSU’s purple jerseys are such a great look and should be worn more often. I hate LSU, but it’s always a welcomed surprise to see them in the proper purple uniforms.
  25. It’s really sad and ridiculous that the Saints wore gold pants just ONCE all season… and of course they lost that game. I truly don’t understand the hatred or whatever they have against the gold pants. It’s Like they must not entirely hate them since they wear gold pants for every preseason game, but come regular season it’s like they completely forget they exist. If they can wear them for the entire preseason, what’s wrong with wearing them in the regular season? And don’t feed me this lame BS that the color is bad or off. It isn’t, it’s just not shiny. Every single other football team who wears gold pants now doesn’t have shiny pants. It Doesn’t seem to bother the 49ers (or literally every other gold CFB team). Only the Saints want to make it a big deal.
