yh Posted April 18, 2003 Share Posted April 18, 2003 In the era of multimillion dollar collegiate athletic budgets and charter air travel, aligning athletic conferences around railroad stops and bus routes is no longer necessary. I have a hunch that in the next 10-20 years you're going to see a few "super conferences" in college sports that are going to have less to do with geography and more to do with ensuring a whole season full of made-for-tv games.
