It is a gorgeous mask, probably one of the best, all-time.

He had a similar one in Salt-Lake City:

Martin Brodeur's mask said "Salt Lake City 2002" on one side and "Cortina D'Ampezzo 1956" on the other. It was a a visible statement of what was so important about these Olympics for the New Jersey Devils and Team Canada goalie.

2002 is his year. 1956 was when his father, Denis, played goal for Team Canada and won a bronze medal. It is a family tradition for the Brodeurs more than a national moment.
