I really like the logo you came up with. I'm trying to think of helpful feedback from yours, but aside from maybe lightening the lightest shade a bit more (not to be white, but just a tiny bit to help it pop a little more), or maybe adding a jewel to the crown, I can't think of anything. Looks good! The other logo isn't bad to me, but 'Kings' is a bit hard to read with that font and it feels more like a soccer crest than a basketball logo in my opinion.
