CaptainBuzKill
So I'm technically cheating as some aren't really re-designed. But at any rate, I'd like to share with you all some of my newest concepts. I designed a new Home, Away, and Alternate... and I paired them with my older Reverse Retro jerseys to create a 4 jersey family for each team! We'll get things started with... THE METROPOLITAN DIVISION CAROLINA HURRICANES Tried to combine the current heritage jerseys with their original Adidas Home jerseys, with everyone's preferred logo (or so it seems). With the alternate, I tried to improve the "current home" (black alternate) by keeping it a bit more two-toned. Never really liked the random grey in there... Tho I did keep it in the logo. And for the Reverse Retro, went with the 2008 black alternate, but went hard on the grey this time. COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS Its time for them to just embrace the alternate as their home and get a road to go with it. It's just such a great uni. I tried to imagine a worthy road jersey for it. For the alternate, I thought along the lines of a City/State jersey and embraced the Ohio State Flag. Not too sure I love the numbers, but I also didn't know how else to make it work. For the Reverse Retro, I went back to their first year in the league and embraced Stinger, their mascot's original colors. New Jersey Devils Again I tried to combine eras for the home and away. The old school striping of the Red and Green days, mixed with the current red and black color scheme. And for the alternate I offer my basic fix for their current jersey... just a bit more red. Helps it stand out from the Blackhawks Winter Classic from 2019. Added striping to the bottom as well. For the Reverse Retro, just a black version of their Reebok days. Just a change of pace from the Jersey jersey. New York Islanders I thought about how to make the Fisherman fit in their current scheme. The answer was just a HINT of teal in the home and away. I switched their home to a a take on their Reverse Retro 1.0, and added a thin teal stripe, then tried to spin it to a road. For the Fisherman itself, I wanted a good mix between more old school, but more modern as well, with just a bit more teal. And the Reverse Retro is, really, just a return to the road sweater... Still more modern tho. New York Rangers Essentially kept their home and away the same. Iconic. No need to change, apart from making it say NEW YORK down the front on the road, just to differentiate it from the Home. The Alternate is the return of Lady Liberty, in essentially a mix of the 2 Reverse Retros from 1 & 2, with the 2 shades of blue instead of silver... And the Reverse Retro is a navy play on their road. Road striping for a home jersey. Philadelphia Flyers This design for the home and away, in essence, is already set to return I think pretty soon. I just swapped the black and white on the home to make it look a bit more Broad Street Bully-esque. The alternate is an incredibly new take. Kind of the striping from the logo, but in orange, and almost a throwback striping on the shoulders. The Reverse Retro is based off the 2002 orange alternate, making it mostly black instead, and bringing back the good ole 3D logo. Pittsburgh Penguins Taking their current logo and plopping it on their alternates. Just too clean. As for the alternates..... I designed the Reverse Retro MONTHS ago, and honestly forgot I made the grey one. I made it grey for the honor of the ROBO-Penguin... When I think Robot, I think grey/metal. Plus it was already in the jersey colors... And then I designed the alternate a few days ago... Forgetting about the Robo Penguin... I made another... OOPS. Taking their first colors and throwing it on the same template (more or less). Washington Capitals I wanted to kinda "fix" the Capitals jerseys. Instead of the weird striping down the arm, tried to turn it and make it a normal stripe. Added a darker shade of red on the other side, some stars and the Weagle... BOOM. New branding. For the Road, I started with the arms, went "Red, White, And Blue", flipped it for the torso. Alternate goes Reverse Reverse Retro. Navy version of their 1.0. And an EASY Reverse Retro, blue version of the old Winter Classic, 4
VampyrRabbit
Okay, lot to critique here, so here goes. Carolina - The home looks great, not sure whats going on with the gap in the storm flag on the road, the black alternate could do with using the same shade/effect on the logos and numbers as the striping Blue Jackets - three navy jerseys is one too many navy jerseys, and while I like the home and road, I don't like the recoloured Ohio flag logo which just looks weird. I'd make the Stinger Jersey white and change the hem and cuff striping to make sure the white and yellow don't touch. NJ - This set is great. Isles - The added teal to the home looks good. For the alternates, I would swap around the teal and the navy for the first alternate and use the same shade of navy for both jerseys. Rangers - Home and Road are classic, the Lady Liberty is exactly what one of the RRs should have been. Flyers - The home has far too much black on it and looks really top heavy, and I don't know why you swapped the black and white on the home to make it look more like the Broad Street Bullies when that team had the classic Flyers look, it looks very different from the 67-81 sweaters. Flipping the colours back would be a huge improvement and actually make the shirt look far more like the Broad Street Bullies. The road looks great though. The alternate is really nice, as is the RR apart from the horrible 3D logo. Pens - Home and Road are perfect. The alternates colours look weird and I'm pretty sure the shades the Pens first used were a lot more muted, and the gold triangle in the Penguins logo represents the Golden Triangle in Pittsburgh so it should really stay gold. The RR is much better, helped by keeping the gold in the logo. Caps - This set is all great, no complaints here. All in all, a lot more hits here than misses and a lot of good ideas. Nice work so far and looking forward to the Atlantic.
CaptainBuzKill
ATLANTIC DIVISION BOSTON BRUINS Not too many changes to the Home or Away for the B's. Just a slight tweak to the collar. The alternate I went with their 2019 Winter Classic, with brown changed to black. Imo, its their best jersey... but added their older alternate logo instead of the B. For the Reverse Retro, I based it off their 1940 Home jersey. Wordfont on the front with a number, B's on the sides. Changed from white to black. Buffalo Sabres Whole new look for the Sabres. I've never really like their round logo so I took it away. Kept the detailed Buffalo from the new jerseys. Tried to get a bladed stripe look with the white stripes, outlines in blue and gold to make it pop on the home. The Away didn't really fit with the blade motif so I tried to just to simplify it. May be too many stripes.... Alternate and Reverse Retro are essentially both Reverse Retros... A Goat Head with classic striping, and a Buffaslug in old school/modern colors from '08. This one may have been the longest I spent on trying to match everything up for this set. DETROIT RED WINGS Red Wings NEVER change their jerseys... So I didn't change too much. Just alternate colored collars. Alternate... Black. Most Wings fans don't want it, but I don't see how an alternate could hurt. I swapped the white for red. And for the RR, I took their famed '14 Winter Classic jersey and just... well.... reversed it lol. One of, if not their BEST specialty jersey. Why not pay tribute to it? FLORIDA PANTHERS As I type this, they just got scored on shorthanded in Game 5 of the Final..... So this is awkward. I wanted to incorporate more of their color palette in both the home and road jerseys. Added navy to the stripes and added an actual shine to the gold on the border stripes. Alternate is a version of their RR 1.0, with a bit of an edited logo... leaping Panther JUMPING thru the current logo. And the RR is just the leaping Panther, and kind of an away version of the alternate. MONTREAL CANADIENS Kept the Home essentially the same. Its classic and Iconic. Its always bugged me, however, that the roads never matched the home set... So I wanted to rectify that. The alternate is one that i designed a long time ago, and I just wanted to keep it around. The reverse retro is a play on their white jerseys they played in against the Red Wings... Made it red because... like... why not? OTTAWA SENATORS Here's where current and past meet up. Old school O jersey alternates mixed with a little bit of gold for the home and the away. Alternate brings back the HL 100 jersey with improved stripes. RR is a red version of the 2000 black alternate. I even had the arrows reversed. TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING This is what inspired the project. I wanted Tampa to have a separate identity from Toronto so bad... instead of Blue and Black as their main colors... I wanted to make it blue and Navy. Made some lightning striping, added some brighter blue in there for emphasis, and viola... Alternate is a black one, maybe a potential Stadium Series inspired look. May have to fix the numbers... RR is the '08 Home jersey, moved to black because, well, I did these a while ago and black was very in... TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS And finally the Leafs. Went almost ALL retro with this one. A play on their current RR, 2.0, made a road one for that as well... Alternate originally had a Green St. Pats... but I went with a cream and black look... to try and make it look like an old black and white highlight reel... I also already had the RR to give it a bit of a color look as well. THAT'S THE ATLANTIC DIVISION! What did I hit on? What did I miss on? Should I stop explaining myself and just post em? Let me know what you all think! I always look forward to comments and suggestions! 3
VampyrRabbit
Bruins - This set is perfect except for lack of shoulder logos on home and road Sabres - The home and the road aren't anywhere as nice as the classic Sabres look and the buffalo on it's own doesn't work. I dig the Goathead, but the Buffaslug needs salting. Red Wings - Great set, no complaints Florida - Nice home and change and adding blue to the chestband looks great, could do with shoulder logos though. Montreal - The band broken by the side panels looks really ugly on the home, road and alternate and ruins the jerseys. Not sure why out of all the teams in the division that have a chestband, why you gave that treatment to the Habs. Ottawa - Home, Road and Alternate are pretty good, could do with some hem/cuff striping and shoulder logos. Tampa Bay - The design of the home and change are great, would love to see them in blue and black (with the lighter blue) which feels like a more Thunderstorm suitable combo than navy and black. Maple Leafs - The home and road are good, the alternate is nice and the reverse retro looks good too.

I guess I should re-edit it with the template used for the others. Good looking out. I'm very appreciative that you continue to leave very concise feedback. I'm excited you're liking the series so far! CENTRAL DIVISION ARIZONA COYOTES Who knows if they'll even still be a team by 2024. At any rate, kept the home the same, apart from a logo swap. The road I made desert sand colored since its in the home color scheme. Seemed like an easy choice. The alternate is a little bit different... Decided to go with a mascot tribute... Its designed on the jersey the full body Kachina logo is wearing, purple trimmed stripes and all. Hem stripe is based on (what I think is) the pants. The Reverse Retro is a mix of their current red alternate, just with the striping filled in instead of the weird outline stuff. CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS My favorite team. Didn't want to change them too much from what made them iconic... just took a bit of an old school approach: adding extra sleeve stripes on the home, and moving the shoulder patches down over top of them. The Alternate was inspired by a hat I bought at the United Center, where 4 simplistic feathers were overtop 4 stripes of the main feather colors. I decided to use that hat logo as the patch on the sleeves, as well as removing the same pattern from the actual crest. The RR is inspired from the Edmonton RR 1.0, where they reversed the colors of the stripes. COLORADO AVALANCHE I REALLY love the shade of blue Colorado uses... more so than the maroon... So I wanted to highlight that. I swapped the colors on the home, and used the blue as the trim color on the road. Also recolored the shoulder patch. The Alternate is a take on the 2020 Stadium Series, which really grew on me. Used their great alternate logo on this one, added triangle striping in the white to mimic a mountain range and moved the numbers to the shoulders. The RR is a road version of their '09 maroon alternate. DALLAS STARS This might have become my favorite set after working on them. I wanted to just separate them more from the Blackhawks jerseys, so I tweaked the striping a bit, while adding a shiny silver stripe in there (maybe using the same material as the silver parts of the Predators RR 1.0 jersey). I also prefer the Texas State logo over the round logo for the shoulder patches. The alternate was fun. Getting to recreate the classic 1999 design in their neon colors was challenging but a welcome experience. I wanted to throw in a bit of the silver touch I added... My thought is that it would only be visible in right light... And nobody likes the Mooterus.... which is why its PERFECT for the RR program. Donned in the current color branding. MINNESOTA WILD Another green jersey set. Kept the home pretty similar... just extended the thin red stripe through the torso (also more centered). Put the numbers even with the stripes too. I've come to realize I really enjoy 2-toned uniforms, and that's no where near as apparent as the road for Minnesota. All cream, with only green striping. Is it bold? yes. Does it work? That's for you to tell me haha. Alternate brings back the red jersey, more in line with the new striping. Also returning is the roundel logo and the script crest. RR seems like the only evolution for the Wild... a black North Stars inspired sweater. NASHVILLE PREDATORS This I feel will be the most polarizing (if more people see them). It may be too busy for some people but let's see. Guitar neck sublimated on a thick navy stripe to give some of that country and music overall feel. The shoulder striping was my attempt to look like fangs coming down... Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. What say you? The Alternate is just an updated version of their current home jerseys. Just needs a BIT more navy, so I added it to the shoulders. The RR is a new guitar themed checkered version of their 09 alternate. St. Louis is essentially untouched for the home and away. The alternate is an idea I had back in 2020 with a stage gradient trying to echo the rapids of the Mississippi River flowing in between the city and Illinois... I went to STL in 2022 and saw a sunset there I'll never forget, painted behind the Arch.... I wanted to capture that in the crest. Added a gradient to the numbers on the shoulders as well. The RR is a white version of the '08 Navy Alternate (alot of 00's influences)... WINNIPEG JETS Based on their original uniforms with updated colors for the home. For the away, my intention was to incorporate "White Out" Nights, playoffs or not, for the city of Winnipeg. NOBODY does a white out much like the Jets faithful, so I wanted a jersey to play into that. The Alternate could have been the RR, but I already had theirs sitting there and decided to design a tribute to the team that came before them, the Atlanta Thrashers. Two-toned red with navy and whit accents to flesh it out. The RR is actually just a lighter color swap of the home... which originated in '79. And there's the Central Division! One Division remains, let's hope I finish strong, eh? 2
neo_prankster
Another alternate I’d like to see for Winnipeg would be something loosely based on the light blue RCAF Flyers sweaters that the Manitoba Moose wore a few years back in the AHL. For Anaheim, I’d like to see the Disney era look, but with modifications to fit the current template. Quote The Fictional Story of Austus
CaptainBuzKill
PACIFIC DIVISION ANAHEIM DUCKS Orange is their color. They should stick with it. A mix of their current striping pattern, but designed in a way to harken back to their Disney Days. Alternate is a color swap TO those Mighty colors and logos. RR is their '07 Cup winning design, with the old school colors. In hindsight I should have made it a green base, but... You live and you learn. CALGARY FLAMES Blast makes his return, this time FULL TIME. Black is, by and by, the same as their RR 1.0... Road is all new, with a color swap in the logo to fir a bit better. Alternate is a red take combining a few different alternates... Obviously Blasty, combined with the 2013 alternate, and their old homes with the numbers. RR is the 2011 Heritage Classic with swapped colors. Each color gets its own jersey! EDMONTON OILERS Why mess with a classic like they've tried to do SO MANY TIMES?!?! So it finally stays. The Road gets the same arm treatment as the home. Alternate could be considered a Fauxback for a Winter or Heritage Classic. Orange as the base, lots of stripes the winter classic shoulders. Had a poll among friends between this and another one, and alot preferred that one. RR is essentially just a Retro, from their Navy and oil third. They already did the Comic logo... so... LOS ANGELES KINGS RETURN OF PURPLE (forum blue)!!! Reverse Retro 1.0 takes over as the home, Road is fairly similar. For the Alternate I wanted a straight throwback to their original home, the white and purp, but wanted to keep their Cup Era logo in the fold. and the RR is a Grey version of The Hockey Guy's favorite jersey he owns... the '98 Road! SAN JOSE SHARKS My other favorite set, the Sharks! May not be able to see it, but I added a subtle design to the big stripes. Its not the one they currently have (although I like the waves)... I designed, what I think, look like shark teeth, but with many stripes intersecting each other. I also brought Orange back into the fold as it remains in their logo, it remains in the uniform. Its limited in the Alternate black, but I thought its inclusion helps it pop a bit. RR is a black version of their old Heritage jersey, originally from '91. SEATTLE KRAKEN Home and Road are very similar, except the stripes have added suction cup like indentations. Alternate was literally the last jersey I designed as the Alternate and RR were EXACTLY the same... So I came up with one VERY QUICKLY and that's what came out. They eyes on the shoulders were the last addition... IDK if I like it or not... but I don't hate it. RR is a Metropolitans take with thick striping, and an old school logo. VANCOUVER CANUCKS And the last of my sets I think I love. As a Blackhawks fan, I actually hated the Canucks for a long time. But the Sedin's are gone, Bobby Lu is gone... So they're iight I guess. Home takes a bit of inspiration from their alternate from 2019, but I added the white, V shaped stripes to help make it pop. White is the same, only with a different colored logo and alternating colored stripes. If you saw the shoulders with the V Johnny Canuck logo, then you may like this... Johnny Canuck makes an appearance on a green alternate. Another 2-tones jersey, in essence (white highlights on the logo and numbers), but added flannel/tartan texture to the striping. RR is the FLYING V!!!!! In current color schemes. Not much to say really... It took a while to create. VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS Finally.... Vegas. They went gold fulltime this year... So I kept that. Castle stripe design with the peaks of towers in there for the home and away. Alternate is a combination of their RRs... Black base with gold striping from 2.0, Logo and design from RR 1.0. RR is based off the Vegas Gamblers from 1968, now in grey with the card suits scattered throughout the single gold stripe. Basic and Old School, with a touch of modern touch-ups. THERE IT IS. This took months to design and finish off, and would love some reactions. If you like these, I have a few more topics on concepts I've made. I also have alot on my Twitter @JonnyRockford . You don't have to follow, but I'd appreciate a look at some of my stuff there! Thank you all! 2
