MDesign
Apparently, the Kia Tigers from South Korea chose my hometown, Port Charlotte FL to do their Spring Training in.Does anyone know anything about this team or the Korean Baseball Organization? Are they worth watching when the Boston Red Sox come into town?I think they're playing a few MLB teams like the Red Sox and Nationals.
Gamingboy
The KIA Tigers are the premier team of the KBO, having won 9 of the 22 Championships. The KBO has roughly the talent level of AA, with some of the better teams being of AAA level. From what I can gather from their official spring website, here's what their schedule looks like:February 18th: At home (Port Charlotte) against the Hyundai Unicorns of the KBOFeb 28: At Sarasota, Florida facing the Cincinatti Reds.March 1st: At Viera, FL to face the Nationals.March 3rd: In Port Charlotte facing Veracruz of the Mexican league.March 4th: In Dunedin, FL to face the Canadian World Baseball Classic team.March 5th: IN Port Charlotte facing Veracruz of the Mexican League.March 6th: In Port Charlotte, facing the Boston Red Sox. Tickets available at the web siteI'd probably go. Not every day that you see a Korean team in America... Insert Witty Signature Here.
DEAD!
As a side note, a Japanese team is thinking of training in Australia in the upcoming years.... http://theage.com.au/news/sport/geelong-ai...9890804980.html Although I don't think they will play anyone while over there I saw, I came, I left.
