Avenger
Hey, fellas-I'm helping the drum corps I used to march in with redesigning, well, everything. For the short term, they desperately need a new website. Their current design can be seen here: http://www.bknights.org ... unfortunately I'm forced to stick with the current site plan, but essentially, they wanted a design overhaul for the existing content structure. This is still in early phases, but you can get the general idea of what I'm doing for them by visiting here: http://www.keithlaubhan.com/bk/home.htm ... bring a newer Flash player.I cut about a minute of slow-motion video to integrate into the home page interface, which is the first time I've done something like this. I'm really pleased with the results. I've got it set up where broadband users should be able to hop right into the video. If the user is on a slower connection, it'll run everything in the header untill the video has enough buffer to stream. The goal was to provide bells and whistles to those who could see them, while not screwing up the experience for those who couldn't... hopefully I succeeded.Lemme know what you guys think! pollux
Keith,Your interface looks so much better than their actual one! I hope they are going to like it, because it's a nice upgrade from what they currently have.I've got broadband, and the video started rightaway. I must say I'm really impressed by the video quality. Didn't have any problem viewing it all in the header. The integration is top notch. On the other hand, I wish you'd have stayed away from tables to do the html layout. I would suggest taking the time to use CSS and div tags. Unless they need the site real bad and that you don't have time to redo the layout. You can PM me if you have any questions, I'll try to help you out!Great job! Avenger
I would love to do this layout with CSS, but because I'm not maintaining it, and the guy who is isn't familiar with DIV tags, my hands are tied a little bit.
