no97
So, I saw a Cincinnati Reds Sig that said Est. 1876. This bugs me to no end. For a great history lesson in Cincinnati baseball, check out this site. For that sites take on why the 1876 entrant in the NL has no connection to the current team, check out this page. Even the guy at the Reds Museum at the Great American Ballpark admited to me when I was there that the 1882 team had no connection to the 1876 team. Now, I'll give you that Cincinnati had pro baseball first (1869), however, the Est. date on Reds items should be 1882, not 1876, or even 1869. Truth is, the only two teams that have been in continuous operation since 1876 are the Chicago Cubs, and the Boston/Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves.Just one of my pet peeves.Moose
