OMMF Posted November 29, 2006 Share Posted November 29, 2006 http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/stories...html?from_rss=1 Nick Lachey, a Hollywood celebrity best known for his role in the MTV reality series "Newlyweds" with his then-wife, Jessica Simpson, is investing in the Tacoma Rainiers baseball team.At an announcement in Tacoma, Lachey declared that he now owns one-third of the team, which is co-owned by Schlegel Sports Group of Texas, which is headed by Kirby and Bob Schlegel.Lachey, who was an original member of the pop group "98 Degrees," said he's a huge baseball fan who's always dreamed of owning a team."Baseball is a true passion of mine, Tacoma is a growing city and I have every intention of playing an active ownership role in the Rainiers as we continue to grow," Lachey said in a statement.The Tacoma Rainiers are the AAA farm team of the Seattle Mariners.
