Mac the Knife
Vitali Klitschko today announced his intention to return to the ring, most likely to face WBC heavyweight titleholder Oleg Maskaev in Moscow later this year. While Klitschko's liable to make mincemeat of Maskaev in the ring, a bigger battle seems to be brewing outside the ropes. Samuel Peter is the WBC's "mandatory" challenger, having disposed of James Toney not once, but twice, to earn that distinction. Maskaev has been openly ducking Peter, and apparently would rather fight Klitschko, or perhaps both Klitschko's at once, rather than take on the #1 contender. While boxing fans might be the only ones interested in this, it could get really interesting in the heavyweight division if Vitali takes the WBC title, particularly with brother Wladimir holding the IBF belt. Mac the Knife
I d love to see Klitschko vs Klitschko for the titleWould be nice but I think they already said they would never fightYeah... in the same way that Sugar Ray Leonard said he'd never fight Marvin Hagler, like Muhammad Ali said he'd never fight Larry Holmes, and in the same way Roy Jones, Jr. said he'd never move up to heavyweight...In other words, if there's enough money on the table to be made, it'll happen. Brothers or not.
