Shroinke
From what I understood before, the NBA currently limits teams to a 15-player roster, with 3 labled inactive prior to each game. But with recent 10-day contract signings, the Heat currently have 17 players on their roster.I'm just curious if the rules have changed, or if 10-day contracts are treated differently. Not that a 53 man roster would help Miami win this season. ShinyHubCaps
I haven't heard of this before, and I'm sure that someone knows more than I do, but I still feel like replying. It might be different for two reasons:1.) Injury reserve - for players such as Dwyane Wade, who has an ongoing injury and could miss the rest of the season2.) As you mentioned, 10-day contracts; I haven't seen enough to knowAs long as they don't play more than 12 guys in one game, however, I don't see how it can be that big of a deal. My guess is that the IR has something to do with it.
flasah
The Heat were granted two special roster exemptions due to the number of injuries they have.
