16kid Posted April 29, 2012 Share Posted April 29, 2012 The Royal Bank Cup is a tournament awarded annually to Canada's best Jr. A hockey team. This years tournament will be held in Humboldt Saskatchewan from May 5th-13thFor my concept I will be redesigning all of the five teams who qualified for the tournament. The first team qualified for the RBC Cup was the Soo Thunderbirds out of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. Right now the Thunderbirds have horrid jerseys so I decided to take a page out of the former minor league team of the same name the Soo Thunderbirds I used there logo and some kinda classic looking jerseys for the home and away, for the alternate I added a little bit of creativity with the Soo Script on the red jerseys. I just used that logo because the Soo Thunderbirds were named after the Sault Thunderbirds who were a pro hockey franchise in Sault St. Marie Ontario whose home was to many great hall of gamers such as Gary Chervers and Phil Esposito. So I was thinking it had more history behind that logo then the current one. Also many junior hockey teams kept the names of there hometown Eastern Professional Hockey League teams including the Kingston Frontenacs, Sudbury Wolves, and the North Bay Trappers and all of them basically kept there logos or slightly modernized it. For the home I added the stripes and switched the numbers from green to, I also did the same thing for the road whites, I switched the logos from the old terrier to the new one.
