There isn't enough line-weight consistency and there are too many different colors used in concentrated areas. Also, the font choices aren't the best. Give it some facial features and make it a little more concrete and consistent and it could be a nice logo. I like the overall shape of it; it just needs to be chiseled out. The "beard" should be moved down to the chin as well. Right now it looks like it's coming out at the nose. Pick 1 orange color as a highlight to the black. Tried to profile the face a bit more and spread my use of color around while using a more consistent identity. Threw in an art deco styled typeface. I've done hand drawing most my life and I'm still trying to pick up the nuances of inkscape.
