So, apparently the Coyotes name and brand is staying in Arizona? Not sure how rock solid this source is, though.
As part of the sale agreement, Alex Meruelo has 5 years to build a new arena in Phoenix and get a team back. So, this would make sense to leave the name and identity behind, especially if the new owners were planning on changing the name any ways.

And remember in 2007, the Canucks started the playoffs with their regular navy blue orca jerseys for their first three games at home (including the legendary Game 1 in 4OT), and then switched to their retro stick-in-rink royal blue jerseys for the rest of the playoffs starting with Game 7 against Dallas. So they, and the Sabres that year, broke that rule. Were they ever disciplined in some way for it?
And the Canucks only did that because they blew a 3-1 series lead.
As for this year, chances are they will stick to their primaries. Four years ago, Thomas Drance, who is a sports reporter in Vancouver, tweeted out that the Canucks organization has decided to always wear the primary jersey in the playoffs for posterity. Obviously, things can change since then. I rather they just stick to their primaries, as well, as that is their best look.

I love the Coyotes identity. I really hope they leave it in Arizona with the chance of an expansion team down the road if anyone ever gets their together.
I would think 28 years in the desert is long enough to realize it's just never going to work. They got kicked out of their old building and are the tenant in a college arena. How much lower can you go? It's time to ship the Coyotes off to somewhere else and never look back. I say Utah should just keep the name, but change the logos and jerseys around. It probably would be better than anything else they might come up with.

Utah Coyotes. Or is that name associated with failure too much?
-
Carolina Hurricanes are polling season ticket members about possible new logos. I know some people don't like their current primary, but none of these would be an upgrade.

So it’s a non-bootleg bootleg?
Did the Flyers then reach out to a different company to have them create their jerseys for the team store?
Honestly this could be a great solution to the jersey market, if teams could find their own third party, and hopefully a local one, to make a cheaper, (but probably nicer quality ) replica version.
I mean I guess you won’t have all of the bells and whistles, but that jersey seems to be nicer than a Fanatics replica. It looks like an actual tackle twill logo.No NHL logo, so I'm guessing they don't actually have a license to make them, so still a bootleg, I guess. It's a bit strange if the Flyers actually got the okay from the league to have these made up, even if Adidas was never going to make any more of them. I have never seen or heard of a team doing something similar before.

Saw this on reddit. Official bootleg jerseys sold at the Wells Fargo Center for $120. They are made by a company called Valiant.

No idea if this is legit, but the seller is saying it's a prototype Islanders Retro Reverse 1.0 jersey. Either way, it would have looked a lot better and more going with the spirit of the RR program than what the Islanders ended up with.

So the jerseys are just plain white and not cream like the mothership had it as. I guess it was just really poor lighting in the promo pics,

Predictions for the helmet/pants colors:
Rangers: white helmet, same red pants they use for every uniform
Islanders: navy helmet, navy pants
Devils: black helmet, black pants
Flyers: white helmet, black pants (I think they might've gone with a black helmet if not for the rule that teams cannot wear the same color helmet as their opponent)
Rangers jersey is cream, so I don't think they will be going with a white helmet. I don't think a team has worn a white helmet with cream as it wouldn't look very good.
I think Islanders/Rangers will both be in blue and Flyers and Devils in black. Maybe Devils in red. I would think they would just make an exception to the helmet rule for these types of games.

Sharks alternate is alright. I think it would have looked better had then dropped the top white and teal stripes.
I guess after getting rid of all the old guys, they don't have to worry about all those stripes weighing them down anymore and slowing them down.

Better than Vegas and LA, but still not very good. Maybe...and it's a big maybe, the chrome/metallic helmets might work if the entire jersey was made from the dazzle material the Canucks used on the OG Orcas, but we know that's not going to happen.

I'll have to wait and see how the Canucks chrome helmets looks with the actual uniforms, but they might not be the complete cluster:censored: I thought they might be. It should look better than Vegas and LA since it's at least the same colour as the uniforms. Still think it's a trend that needs to go away.

Worked for the Sharks. Marketing departments know well in advance what jerseys teams are going to wear in the playoffs. Playoff merch is the biggest sellers of the year and teams want their branding to figured out in advance.
People like you with no sources, who talk out of their ass is one of the most entertaining things I see on here. Like when you wake up each morning, do you go "well its time for me to post on the internet as if I am an expert in a field I have no experience in".
Well, talking out of my ass is the best part of my day besides coming here. My apologizes to all ticket reps out there. Does your ticket rep also know whether the Canucks are going to trade Kuzmenko for a second line centre?

The released 1,904 jerseys (to represent the original year of Gasparilla in Tampa. Per their explanation, they were able to do this release since they were not warmup jerseys (league no longer allows special warmup jerseys, or the sale of them to the public)
Specialty jerseys are most definitely still being sold by teams. You got $900 Canadian lying around, then you can get yourself a Lunar New Year or Pride jersey using the practice jersey template right now from the Canucks.
-
A ticket rep is not going to know what jersey the team might wear in the playoffs with half a season still left to play, so the doom and gloom over the return of the skate jersey is a little premature.
Any ways, here's Tampa Bay's Gasparilla jersey. Kind of wish they used that logo for an alternate jersey. Extra points for doing more than just slapping the logo on a practice jersey.

The only positive thing I can say about the all-star jerseys are that they are at least different colours. Other than that, nope. They would look okay as a shirt design, but not as a hockey jersey.
They would probably be paired up with chrome helmets, white gloves and pants.

I don't know if this guy would win his case if it went to court, but unpopular opinion, the Kraken should have made a deal with this guy for the trademarks from the start (and probably will end up doing) instead of low balling him. If he was actually producing merchandise and selling it in significant numbers, I wouldn't consider it squatting on the name.
Way back in 2010, the Canucks bought the rights to the Millionaires trademarks from somebody who had been selling Millionaires merch for 30 years.

Look like sweaters from unveiling were a placeholders (Montreal kinda confirmed it) made by unknown brand (no logo/tag on hem) and these ones is those which was supposed to be at first and they made by SP.
Maybe they should have stuck with the unknown brand because not having the sleeve stripes go all the way around is ridiculous. That can't be SP's standard template, can it? I know there have been other jerseys where the stripes don't go completely all the way around, but nothing like this.
-
The hem stripe looks like it could just be a single white stripe like it is now on the primaries.

The hardest part is probably figuring out the name. Even though the Jets' owners originally planned to go with something else, the idea that the team could be anything else, but the Jets, was shot down pretty quickly by the fans. That alone probably made the process a lot quicker.
I do agree that Utah would be foolish to go into year one with no name. Keeping the Coyotes name and branding temporarily would have at least bought them some time. But, that's not going to be possible with all of that staying behind in Arizona.
