Vancouver kept the chest hoop but added red to it and also added five thin horizontal pinstripes:

They’re also keeping the two-color name set printing, with navy NOB’s and red numbers. I do hope they have navy shorts in addition to the white shown in the video above.

Will the team need to acknowledge the Tribal Chief now?

  2. The Hurricanes have been wearing the red helmets with their white jerseys for every road game since they started on Jan.1.  For a one time thing, whatever.  But, it just doesn't look right to be the default look and hopefully no other team jumps on this trend.  It's bad enough that their road jersey a wordmark of their shortened nickname, but the team's primary logo isn't even on it.  I would say it's junior league, but even a lot of major junior teams have two sets of helmets now.

Pretty rare/unique situation here. A Western Conference All Star Jersey with an Islanders logo on the shoulder.

And the last time Florida hosted the all-star game in 2003, the same thing happened.  Sandis Ozolinsh was traded by the Panthers to the Mighty Ducks before the all-star game, but still ended up playing for the Eastern Conference.

While it would have been nice to have four separate jerseys, I thought the whole look didn't look bad all things considered.  Certainly better than in years past.

This is my guess as well, especially since the secondary color for each jersey kinda becomes the primary color on the back of the jersey. Though I'm hoping for the teal and pink versions, too.

In general I suspect it's a tough thing to design a set of four jerseys for this ASG format where there are no possible clashes, though also it's kind of a fun challenge.

For this year, easily could have had an aqua version and the fourth could be either red or blue.  It's probably just not worth it to make 4 versions.

Wait was this jersey ever actually released?

how did it go from Facebook marketplace leak to worn on the ice in less than 12 hours??

The team had been teasing this jersey for at least a couple of weeks with a viral #freetheskate ad campaign.  A plane flew around with that banner.  I think at first, everyone thought it was just a fan.  Then, there were bus ads and fans holding up signs with that hash tag at the arena.

The players tested out the black gear last week.  I assumed and probably everyone else that it was just going to be the same black skate jersey they have been wearing.

Probably doubtful, but maybe they moved the debut up due to the passing of Gino Odjick.

  6. I was kinda expecting the Coyotes alt to be a little more out there with the cactus being on the pants, something along the lines of the first alternates like the Kings' sash jersey or the Ducks Wild Wing jersey.  Instead, they just decided to go the lazy route, using just the outline of their current set and a dumb wordmark.

As for the Canucks, I don't get it. Why screw up your throwback just enough.to make it a technically new jersey that looks worse? This looks like a failed Reverse Retro attempt.

To sell more jerseys.  Also, it's the Canucks.  This is what they do, making questionable decisions about just about everything.  Getting harder and harder to be a fan these days.

I do like the deletion of white in the logo, though.

  8. It's got a weird detail on the yellow sleeve stripes I guess to be a V.  It's basically a mashup of the team's original jersey with the Skate colours.  At least it doesn't have some ugly collar.  Should have just gone with a white version of the Skate jersey they had been wearing for the past few seasons.

Worn with black socks, for some reason.

So this was actually a fantasy camp with some alumni.  Maybe Bourque and the guy two down from his left just brought their own gear while the fantasy campers were issued theirs.  Seems like Bruins alumni normally wear the black socks Bourque has on.

90s ASG sweaters in Miami Vice colors is great if true.

I wish each division had their own jersey like when it was in LA and Tampa.  You can have two in the Vice colours and two in team colours this year.  The all-star jersey should always be in team colours of the host city, even if it's the same generic template every year.

I think that's a non-starter because Lake Louise in the national park, so there's a bunch of governmental hoops the NHL would have to jump through.

Apparently, the government had restrictions on ads on the ice as one of the reasons it didn't happen in 2021.

Okay, so hold up--does this not violate any kind of IP protocol or something? How were they able to pull this off? Or did they reach out to and clear this with the Winnipeg Jets first?

That said, that whole Atlanta Thrashers identity was one of the most underrated looks in the NHL—of course it all went in the crapper once they went to that whole "Believe in Blueland" bullcorn...

The team asked the NHL for permission to use the Thrashers logo in May and were granted permission in October.
