  1. I'm sure this has been posted, but as a Red Sox fan, it's strange to see David Ortiz in a uniform that isn't Boston's. But it turns out he played for the Twins from 1997-2002, which was a time period I didn't pay attention to sports that much. It's also double strange since I began watching sports in 2003, Ortiz's first season with the Red Sox and Boston's championship year.

    Umm...

Who the hell is on the mound being dragged around and slumped up like Bernie? WTF? (At the end of gof when crossing home)

    That would be Mariano Rivera.

What happened? Was he hurt or what? He looks like he got sniped from the upper deck.

  3. I'm all for prosecuting counterfeiters but 175 years in prison is harsh as hell. Even the 15 years is harsh.

We really need to examine prison terms in this country, some of them are waaaaaaay out of line with others.

175 years in jail would be about 7.5 days in jail per fake jersey the guy sold.

When you put it that way, give him ten days a jersey.

I don't ever want him seeing the light of day at 212 years old!

  4. Just on a side note it would make things easier if the pictures at least would have the name.

If you can't recognize the player, you likely don't know who they are. And if you don't know who they are, how would being told their name make a difference?

I know who Pavel Datsuk is, he'll- even Nathan Horton and Rocco Grimaldi.

I'll be damned if I know what they look like.

  5. Can you post PM's from other members?

If the other member is ok with it? Sure. You should refrain from doing it if you don't have their permission.

Now if you think a PM constitutes abuse? Share it with a mod in PM.

What if a member PMs to begs me to stop making them look like a fool, but only continues the argument in public.
PM a mod with details and we'll go from there.

    Ok.

  7. There really should be some type of guideline as to who should be posted. Rasheed is fine, Wilkins, although before my time is fine. Frank Robinson as well in a Brewers uni.....

that Giants player, I dont know who the hell that is.

If someone can't tell or recognize the player at all---then he shoudn't be in this thread.

    That should be our guideline.

Otherwise I'm inclined to start posting pictures of Hee Sop Choi and Jorge Cantu with the Marlins and Rays respectively.

  8. Absolutely. With the ease of iTunes and the low pricepoint, why wouldn't I pay for music? Aside from the obvious theft issues.

Note that the prices for music didn't come down until the recording industry started feeling the heat on their absurd prices with the rise of file sharing ($22 for a 25 cent CD? Really?).

Hopefully the same thing will happen with the absurd prices for jerseys soon enough as the jersey makers feel the heat on their own absurd prices with the rise of offshore counterfeit manufacturing.

Back when I used to buy albums I wouldn't dare pay more than 15 for them. How some are 25 boggled my mind. I stopped buying albums when they hit 30 one day- I couldn't believe it.

What pushed me was when the best buy manager told me he will price match the cd and I thanked him.

When I asked who he was price matching he said best buy, they had it for sale 13 the day before.

If they can put it in sale for 10-15, than the retail price can and should be lower and reasonable at 20 tops. Nothing should ever be on sale for 50% or more unless is been out for a while or is a loss leader. Especially when it's a 30 cd and on sale for 13 the day before.

  9. Just out of curiosity, does everyone here that mercilessly flames people for saving money and getting jerseys on eBay, etc, all pay for all the music they listen to?

    I'm aware it's a bit different.

It's not hard to get any team and any player jersey on eBay cheap. And by cheap I mean 15-20.

And no- I don't pay for music, all the music today is :censored:.

When I did listen, I paid by buying te actual album in store.
