Anyway, here's my (and probably other people's) NBA idea. No more conferences, just five divisions of six teams.
PACIFIC
Lakers
Clippers
Warriors
Kings
Blazers
Suns
SOUTHWEST
Jazz
Nuggets
Spurs
Mavericks
Rockets
Thunder
SOUTH
Grizzlies
Hornets
Heat
Magic
Hawks
Bobcats
CENTRAL
Timberwolves
Bucks
Bulls
Pacers
Pistons
Cavaliers
EAST
Wizards
Raptors
76ers
Knicks
Nets
Celtics
Top 16 make playoffs, division champions guaranteed home court advantage in first round. All-Star teams picked same way as in the NHL.
This is how the bracket would look based on this seasons records:
1 Chicago
16 Philadelphia
8 Orlando
9 Denver
5 Dallas
12 Memphis
4 L.A. Lakers
13 Atlanta
6 Boston
11 New Orleans
3 Miami
14 Houston
7 Oklahoma City
10 Portland
2 San Antonio
15 New York

Please do, The Big Ten will expand and when they do it will be a big name. I am thinking it will be either Pitt, Texas or Notre Dame to be in the mix. As far as your "Pac 11" theory. If and when the Pacific 10 expands, they will not be looking at Texas, they will go with Idaho/Boise State, Nevada/UNLV or BYU/Utah. I've even heard of rumors of Colorado/Colorado State. Just so they can have a travel partner. Please stop trying to sound like a know it all. I know this is a board with opinions, but seriously.
Not to burst your bubble but Idaho, Boise State, UNLV, Nevada, Colorado State & BYU will never be admitted to the Pac-10. I can guarantee that. Colorado & Utah probably to maybe.

Just my opinion but in the end I think Pitt will be the school joining the Big Ten.
Division A - Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin
Division B - Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Ohio State, Minnesota

I'll also add this; The Big XII ruined the Oklahoma - Nebraska rivalry when they messed around with it. Let's learn from history and not botch up Ohio State - Michigan.
Couldn't agree more

So who is taking bets on which stadium is built first or if any of them will be built at all: Oakland, Tampa Bay or Florida.

On why Anaheim over Tampa Bay? Because of stronger ownership (Disney over Phil Esposito's group) and a new arena (Anaheim Arena).
On why Winnipeg moved to Houston when Winnipeg should have a team? Well to simply state Winnipeg Arena was a dump (built in 1955 and already outdated) and the MTS Centre wouldn't be built until 2004. Yeah I know Houston wouldn't have a new arena either until 2003 but it's a bigger market and a rivalry with Dallas would be implemented.
