They throw the idea around, but the resources aren't available. I actually worked closely with UTA's athletic department for a marketing project. Many students aren't too terribly interested in athletics now (still a heavy commuter school). They're looking pretty cheap at this point, but they nearly finished their new basketball arena.

This whole debacle (and the rumour mill) could be put to rest this way: OUT: IN: It'd make way more sense. Rivalries would include Kansas/Kansas State, Iowa/Iowa State, Colorado/Colorado State. Plus, it'd establish an even stronger Big 12 North, even without Nebraska. Replace Baylor with TCU, and this would be golden... Sigh, if only.
