Happy to see the Hurricanes move on to the next round, but I expect to get beat 4-1 in the next round against whoever we play. The offense just doesn’t seem to be there (again) for the playoffs. Injuries don’t help, but I also don’t think Teravainen, Svechnikov, or Pacioretty could pull us out of this funk.

I like this one way more than I should.

Necas went into the Isles bench and straight-up punched a guy in the face. Probably suspended a game for that. Do a dance about it,
I’ve never seen a team live in someone’s head so rent free.
Make another dup account about it.

This is going to be just like last postseason where the Canes are completely incompetent on the road, isn’t it?

Real teams or hypothetical Quebec City team(s)?
I suppose we will go with real teams, since the league is allegedly not allowing them to win the Cup.

I assure you whenever gary retires/dies we're gonna see like five canadian teams win the cup in a row
What exactly is the league doing to hold the Canadian teams back right now?

Dallas has worked well as an NHL market.
There are a handful of southern cities that have proven themselves good NHL markets. However, on this board there is a group who like to complain about southern teams no matter what.

None of the Pittsburgh sports teams made the playoffs in the last year. This pleases me.

He'll get like 2 games at most.
Maybe just a hefty fine.
He won't even get a fine. It didn't happen on national television, so the NFL doesn't care.

Apparently the red jersey will not be worn at all in the 2022-23 season, which is a shame since I think it is their best jersey of the set. Apparently it is being replaced by "something special" according to the article. Hopefully we get a throwback to the 2006 jerseys.

Regarding Watson: If you want to see the absolute low of the low of fans, parents, and t-shirt vendors, look here. I'd post the tweets or links but there's some language that probably wouldn't be looked highly upon. Someone else can post if they want.
Look through the whole thing.

I was hoping our fanbase would be a little more tasteful than Pittsburgh fans during this whole thing. Embarrassing display.

It is definitely a slippery slope with how to determine a punishment for someone that was not criminally indicted. I personally think he is guilty of some disgusting stuff and so does the NFL, but I think the NFLPA would have to draw a line and fight back if he received some sort of unprecedented punishment. I think a year would have been reasonable, but I also am not upset with 11 games and the largest fine (by far) against a player in NFL history.

The NFLPA is most definitely going to appeal and go the route of "he already sat the entire year last year, and it would be bad for the league to have a star out for almost two whole years", but this is about as close as we're going to get for justice from the NFL.
Why would the NFLPA appeal a decision/settlement they agreed to?

The status quo ante, when they had the bad name and people in media were just too precious to say the bad name, was fine enough for me. At least they looked pretty good. Oh well. Shoutout to George Floyd.
Another one you should have posted from your dupe account. Yikes.

Calvin Ridley getting suspended for a full year for betting and Deshaun Watson only getting 6 games for his situation still just does not make any sense.
Athletes gambling on the sport they play is a whole different can of worms. It brings into question the legitimacy of the on-field product, and sports leagues simply cannot allow that to happen.
Watson is a complete POS and deserves at least a year suspension in my opinion, but that doesn't mean Calvin Ridley should get a lesser punishment.

If it is Nike I am nervous what the jersey cost will be for consumers. If an authentic MLB Nike jersey costs about $450 I don't even want to think about what an authentic NHL Nike jersey would cost.

Yeah, to go winless on the road in the playoffs and then get bullied on your home ice in Game 7 is basically the definition of soft. All flash, no substance. I’d feel bad for the Canes, but the whole franchise just puts off this air of arrogance and insufferability that is in no way earned, so I won’t lie I’m not too broken up about them getting humbled.
Unfortunately knowing how some of our fans act they won’t be humbled by this. We will probably be a hot regular season team next year, perhaps even a trendy pick to win the Cup - some fans will eat it up and talk too much once again. Yeah, it has been fun to watch a legitimately talented team the last few seasons, but our fans have to learn to shut their mouths after the embarrassing playoff efforts the last three years. We can be a top five regular season team again next year and win another division title, doesn’t mean much when your star players don’t show up in the postseason.
This isn’t like the 2019 postseason when we were just happy to be there, this team has expectations now. Unfortunately they haven’t come close to living up to them.

Congrats to the Leafs and their fans. As a Browns fan, I can relate to the frustrations they must have felt for the last two decades. Always good to see a loyal fanbase finally get rewarded.
