I’d love to see Larry Mac back in the booth but apparently he doesn’t want to do the traveling for it.
Not according to him two years ago.

This Daytona 500 broadcast on FOX has been absolutely brutal.
Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick are horrendous in the booth. Harvick I can give a pass to as it’s his first 500 call and is doing his best to make something out of nothing with awkward dead air time, but Bowyer is in year 4 and monotone as ever.
Bless Mike Joy for being the GOAT.
If you made a drinking game out of taking shots every time FOX did in race picture-in-picture, you’d be obliterated by mid stage 2.
Agreed. FOX used to be the gold standard and now it's just awful. Bowyer needs to be in the studio. Harvick is new to this so I'll give him a pass, but and I don't think he's ready yet. Since we're on the subject, what genius at FOX decided that the best use of Larry Mac was to stick him in a closet studio in Charlotte? FOX needs to fix the booth and the solution is just sitting there waiting to happen; put Bowyer in the studio, demote Harvick to Xfinity and the trucks until he either gets his chops or proves he's not capable. Then you bring back Larry Mac and sign Jr. before he makes a new deal with NBC. Problem solved.

Paying them legitimately, am I right? Texas A&M bought Eric Dickerson a Trans Am, and he never played a down for them.
Dickerson said he had to take a pay cut when he left SMU to play for the Rams.

Like if Denny Hamlin won a race, I see it more as "Denny Hamlin wins a race " rather than "Joe Gibbs Racing wins a race."
It's both.

I think the thing I’m taking most from it is that the Taylor Swift machine and the NFL machine are really similar in that they’re there mostly to extract cash from people.
Whether or not the NFL and/or Taylor Swift extract that cash is entirely up to the people who have the cash they're trying to extract. Ain't no one forcing people to spend their money on the NFL or Taylor Swift.
3 hours ago, FiddySicks said:Seems like a funny coincidence that the affable dummy the league has really been pushing as their friendly face just so happened to end up with the friendly face of that other economic machine. It could totally be a coincidence because like I said people date.
My limited understanding of the situation is Kelce had a thing for Taylor Swift for a while before he finally decided to say it, rolled the dice, and asked her out. Maybe I'm naive, but I don't believe there is anything more to it than that. The NFL capitalized on their relationship and I don't have a problem with it. Frankly, I can't blame the league for taking advantage of the opportunity to possibly bring in new fans any more than I can blame her for being on camera at games. She's not in the production truck calling the camera shots.
3 hours ago, FiddySicks said:But you have to understand that this more of a combination of entertainment ventures than it is a relationship (at least for anyone who isn’t those two), and yeah, I’m sorry but that can be annoying some times!
I don't think that's what is happening here, but even if it is, what's the issue? As I said before, no one is being forced to spend money on any of it.
That being said, I can understand how it might be annoying at times.

I guess, but the complaint is about the 6 seconds Taylor Swift is shown on screen at a time.
How are you supposed to be prepared for that?
Not giving a seems to work for me.

I mean, I think you know exactly why people find it off putting. These two had some mutual interest in each other and as soon as that got public everyone pounced on it like piranhas, and have spent the entire season trying to cram these stories down our throats
It’s just yet another example of how empty and meaningless so much of our society has become.
I'm sure you do think that, but I really don't know. Why anyone would get upset over cutaway shots during an NFL broadcast is a mystery to me. It's a cutaway shot. In terms of directing a telecast, it's a time killer. No one gets pissed when it's Fireman Ed or some shirtless, morbidly obese at an NFL game. If people find cutaways of Taylor Swift off putting, they may be taking the whole thing a little too seriously.
FWIW, I haven't found it difficult at all to avoid the whole affair. Maybe that's why I find the blow back to be absurd. I don't know.
It's cotton candy. It's harmless. I don't see it as an example of anything other than that. It's just a football telecast. No more, no less.

I have nothing against Bradshaw, but he wasn't much more than Brad Johnson but on a team full of HOFers.
Tell me you've never seen Terry Bradshaw play without telling me you've never seen Terry Bradshaw play. I was there and he was much more than "Brad Johnson but on a team full of HOFers."

Come on dawg. If Mahomes never played another down, no sane person would rank him equal or below Bradshaw.
In Bradshaw's defense, he played in an era when this stuff was common.
If someone did any of that to Mahomes, they'd probably be suspended for life.

The Taylor Swift stuff is super weird.
Can someone explain to me why using Taylor Swift in cutaway shots is the worst thing to happen to the NFL since...well, ever?

Anyways, the Boston Braves were renamed the Boston Bees for a few years and considering that Salt Lake City is emerging as a dark horse candidate, why not bring back that moniker in the Beehive State?
Salt Lake has the AAA Bees, but they're moving to suburb called South Jordan after this season.

I dig it. It only focuses on the Playoffs and the drivers in the Playoffs, but it’s definitely a fun and intriguing introspective show. Netflix is supposedly at NASCAR Media Day this week so there’s rumors of a full season length feature for Full Speed Season 2.
It's focusing on all the right things to bring in new fans.
I'd be all over a full season of this.

Anyone else watching NASCAR: Full Speed on Netflix? I'm curious to see what NASCAR fans think of it. FWIW, I just watched the first episode and thought it was great.

That's the one. Jon Bois wrote a piece on it.
A Secret Base on the post-1985 Bears would be a fantastic piece, of how the historically-mediocre can become truly terrible.
That actually happened? I figured the Lt. Colonel was just embellishing the Bears ineptitude.

I'll share my favorite one so far. There are people saying Taylor Swift is a Pentagon psyop which would be hilarious except I think these people actually believe it.
We're doomed as a society. Enjoy the chaos.
