It’s not like Tom Brady was in his legendary form at Michigan either. So, drafting a good Michigan QB could make for an exceptionally garbage NFL pick.

Exactly. People are high on McCarthy because the media loves his "grit" (whatever the :censored: that means) and his coach pimped him like he was a $10,000 a night call girl. He was a good QB in the B1G, but I didn't see a thing from him that makes me believe he'd be a good QB in the NFL. He's a more annoying and better marketed Brian Griese.

J.J. McCarthy should be available, but I can't see him being a day one starter on the Vikings.

List of successful NFL QBs who played at Michigan.

    1. Tom Brady

    That's it. That's the list.

Draft McCarthy at your own peril. I could see maybe taking a flyer on him in rounds 5-7, but anything before that is a wasted pick.

I don’t get the complaints about Taylor Swift

Nor do I. People are losing their minds over cutaway shots.  Would they prefer more cutaways to drunk guys acting like buffoons in the stands? More cutaways to some coach talking into a Denny's menu on the sidelines? Taylor Swift is a huge star. If I were directing those broadcasts you can bet your ass I'd be using her for cutaways.

Viking fans like to point out that there was a small four year window when a team could win the NFL championship while still losing the superbowl but, trust me, nobody wants to hear it.

Speaking of the NFL Championship, the Vikings beat the Browns to win the last "NFL Championship" in 1969. It was little kid me's first taste of what was to come as a Browns fan. Someone smarter would have switched teams right then and there. I really liked the 49ers too back then because of their uniforms and I thought 49ers was a really cool name. And Gene Washington was my favorite player. How different my NFL fandom would have been if I'd bailed on the Browns and jumped to the 49ers.

    I remember this!

The AL East had been won by six different teams in the six previous seasons. To think that Cleveland was going to make it a full 7-for-7 was seductive.

The Clevelands were pretty solid in 1986. If memory serves, they won 84 games and looked to be on the upswing, but it was obvious two weeks into the '87 season that wasn't going to the case. They were abysmal in 1987.

Childhoods? Not even. SI was as mainstream a publication as existed for generations. My dad used to get that and Inside Sports. I had a subscription as a young adult myself, alongside ESPN the Magazine.

Pretty much. I got my first subscription to SI when I was a kid in 1974. I even remember the cover of the first copy I received.

I think my last subscription ran out in 2018. From 1974 thru 2018, there were stretches when I wasn't a subscriber, but they were few and far between. SI was the gold standard for a long time. What happened to it is a shame.

They’ll just give anyone a press pass these days.

As someone who used to have to go to these things, I wish I could say that is the dumbest question I've ever heard at a sports press conference, but it wouldn't even make my the top ten.

My guess is the NFL isn't her regular beat. She sounds like someone who was there because she was the only one available for the assignment that day. People that are actually in sports media ask way dumber questions than that. Like unbelievably dumber.

    I blew a 2nd chance and don’t deserve a 3rd.

    goodbye.

Warning points are just that, a warning. You're welcome to stay, but the trolling has to stop. The ball is still in your court.

Is Todd Bowles the worst coach to ever win a playoff game?

Tampa already won a fugazi Super Bowl 3 years ago. That would be anything but a fun story.

Does anybody actually WANT to see these NFC games?

GB/SF is a stale rerun that everyone is tired of.

    TB/DET sounds like a 1:00 chris myers/ron pitts game

PHI/DAL losing guaranteed there is a 50 percent chance of an NFC mid-off

NBC has to be crying knowing they have to make us pretend to care about Faker Mayfield and that fraud of a HC

    Jordan Love. Baker Mayfield.

What do they both have in common?

    They are insufferable asshats

You've been warned twice now about the trolling. It's one thing to have bad takes, but it's clear that you're doing this just to get a response about of people.

I don't like to go full mod on anyone, but you've left me no choice. This nonsense either stops immediately or the moderating team will take action. That means you have a decision to make. Do you want to troll your way out of here in a blaze of glory, or do you want to stick around and try being a contributing member of the community? It's up to you. Full disclosure, I don't care either way. Consider yourself officially warned.
