Looking at the whole lineup of caps, some of these could work within the current team identities.

    2023-mlb-baseball-fathers-day-caps-all-teams-sportslogosnet-new-era.jpg

    - Twins could wear this with a powder blue uniform (which I assume their CC will be)

    - Cardinals could wear that with their powder blue alternates

    - Rays were already mentioned

    - Rangers one looks better than the crappy cap they currently wear with the powder blues

    - If the Jays wanted to make the secondary color of the powder alternates royal blue, this hat could work

    Biggest surprises to me:

    - The Rays hat should be their full time

    - The Padres hat is amazing -- I wouldn't hate adding powder to the color scheme full time.

    - Cards looks great

    - Pirates really pops

    - The biggest shock of all, I LOVE how this looks for the A's

You know the one thing I wish the Rays could/ would do with their current brand to really see them apart, if I/ they know they could get away with it?

Ax out navy; add in orange.

That's about the most sunshiney colorway there is. The problem is that Allegiant Air exists and they already built their visual brand with those same elements:

    61a8f7265d47cc0018e901be?width=700

That's even more of a reason for them to resurrect the manta ray and disambiguate the brand.

Of course, this is just one man's opinion...my two rusted Lincolns.

I still think it's ironic they're named after sun rays, yet play in the only stadium without any sun...

At least the fish rays made sense, since it feels like it's underwater.

    1. It's 100 years since Yankee Stadium I opened.

    2. It's 100 years that they've called 151st and River their "home".

    3. It's 100 years that they've played in a ballpark named "Yankee Stadium".

Like I said, as far as I've seen words from official sources never seem to phrase it in a way that explicitly say their current building is 100 years old.  The celebration is of the anniversary of their move into their own ballpark and their standing on their legs as a franchise.

    161st and River*

Also they played 74-75 at Shea.

Hello! Many years ago, I was an extremely active member of this message board. I posted some of my earliest work here & slowly turned an art hobby into a side hustle. A decade later, I am a professional artist. I have worked with several pro athletes on shirt designs & I've carved out a niche selling mashup pop art & merch online. I also just completed an official collaboration with he Buffalo Sabres!

Proceeds from this official Military Appreciation Night design benefits the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park and their preservation work on the USS The Sullivans, a decommissioned US Navy ship, named after five brothers who were killed in live combat. The ship has recently made headlines for taking in water & we're hoping to literally keep it afloat!

Shoutout to all the members of this site who walked me through the basics a decade ago! 🫡

I love this -- but why USS? The ship is either USS The Sullivans, or DD-537

I'm British and the "T" falling off is how I learn we have a national baseball team. That may be ignorance on my part but probably shows how well the sport is covered here.

I don't follow baseball too closely but thanks to my time on these boards I at least have an understanding of the aesthetics and what makes a uniform work - the only part I don't get is why road uniforms are usually grey, but I guess that's one of baseball's traditions. With that said; Great Britain has one of the most half-arsed uniforms I've ever seen, and it's also exactly what I'd expect from them.

The gray is tradition  - they used white at home and gray on the road because there were less laundry facilities on the road in the early 20th century.

I just did the Petco Park tour and went into the pro shop. Authentic jerseys have the swinging friar on one sleeve and Motorola on the other. The replicas only have Motorola. I am irrationally upset about it.

Woah, so the replicas have the ad? That's insane.

Probably already posted and not sure of the accuracy, but I read on Twitter the padres are exempt from 4+1 cause their two camo alts honor the military. I didn’t know they still rotated two camos. I thought they just had a brown one and retired the blue one (or do they have a green one?). If this story is true, does that exempt anyone? Cause I imagine the pirates 4 are the white, gray, and two blacks thus eliminating the white/camo they’ve kept around for years (why they kept that Memorial Day uni as an alt is beyond me)

They have desert and woodland NWU patterned uniforms.

I suspect their exemption may be because they don’t sell those jerseys.

The shade of green at Chase Field looks like the normal Chase field green which is a darker shade

Tokyo dome was the same, I wonder if they took any dark green wall as "that's fine"

Taichung, who's normal wall color I'm assuming is navy, has the same Marlins green:

Not sure if this will be an update for LoanDepot Park. But for the WBC at least the walls are green and to me it is a big improvement from the yankeefied attempt that was made a few years back.

Thats the official WBC green color — all the walls in all the parks are that color.

The all-blue USA cap is fine, IMO. A better cap logo would help out a lot. I feel like the current logo makes the red bill cap the lesser cap whereas, with a better logo, I could see an argument for a red bill. But, even then, all-blue just feels right to me. You don't need much red for a US (or patriotically-themed) team.

The USA team is also  wearing a contrast bill helmet, but not hat. The red bill makes a a very dull hat so much more exciting.

  11. So...did New Era just refuse to do any contrast bills for this tornament? The US doesn't have the red bill cap (by far the better one), and the Aussies are wearing helmets with a yellow bill, while the Netherlands is wearing helmets with orange bills. Both teams have solid caps, but the helmets are better. What gives?

There was an article recently about how they're looking for an advertiser.  I may have posted it - can't remember - but here it is again.

The organization has been in talks with several different local, national, and international brands, said Jackie Cuddeback, the Phillies’ senior vice president for partnership sales and corporate marketing. Some of the potential sponsors are new names; others are existing marketing partners. The patch talks were first reported Wednesday by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Who want's to bet it'll be comcast?

In Boston I’ve always seen that gray jerseys seem to sell better to fans than one might think. Maybe here it’s because those have the names on the back (though modern home replicas don’t seem to care about that), maybe it’s because gray is more casual and goes with things more than a bright white jersey. But the sales may be a team-by-team thing.

Re Seattle, I’ve always defended their look as a modern classic but they’ve really gone death by a thousand cuts here. The navy would be fine (boring, but fine) if it used normal block numbering and not that dated, try hard serif font. The teal only works at home. The cream is a disaster, and the powder blues were around so briefly that I’ve already forgotten about them. This team desperately needs a Padres-style reboot, on and off the field.

I think it's something to do with the classic teams. The Yankees sell a ton of the gray as well, probably 60-40 vs home from what I've seen. Tons of throwback BPs as well.

The Diamondbacks never had a panel/regular mismatch, but they did have hats that didn't match the batting helmet in the purple/teal set.  I feel like there's a couple other teams that had similar mismatches.

Didn't Mauer wear a catchers helmet that didn't match?

Maybe this is better in my head than execution, but I would love to see the Angels go with the sky blue they had in the 2000s and cut navy out completely and use gold in the halo again like someone posted in the anniversary logo. I think the colors would be more fitting for the team name.

THANK YOU!! Red = Devils, Blue/White = Angels

It'd be interesting if the Rockies switched to black pinstripes at home with purple numbers outlined in silver. Maybe it'd be a lateral move, and maybe it wouldn't make too much of a difference for night games, but probably a welcome change...kind of a "hey, that's a solid update".

Any color would really help that look. The Rockies need an overhaul badly, one of the worst sets, if not the worst, in the majors.

  17. I visited Target this year and met up with some fans, and my take away is that the M hat was a necessity. Most of MN doesn't live in the Twin Cities, and don't identify with the city or hats, and for them, the M is preferred Twins hat, and I saw a lot of them wearing the metrodome era M.

Among the many problems with the Rays' bland 2008 redesign is that the grey jersey is the same as the white one. They could have been the team to bring back the interlocking-letters road script that the Giants and Padres had abandoned.

There's an interlocking TB? That would be cool to see.
