So, years ago I started creating images for people to spruce up their signatures. Three threads later (one for each type and one condensed thread to return), I've done a lot of signatures and had a lot of fun doing it.
But I've found that things may have gone... a little haywire. I've only ever had two in my sig, trying to take up as little space as possible, but some had as many as five stacked in a huge blob of images. Well, due to that, I'm fixing one of the greatest errors I made when originally creating these. But more on that later. First, let's begin with some instructions:
Instructions on adding signature images
These are for anyone to use in their signature if they desire. To add them, click the arrow next to your username in the upper right corner and choose "Account Settings". Click the "Signature" tab on the left and under the text field hit the "Insert other media" button and select "Insert image from URL". All you need to do is right click the image in my post, select "Copy link address" and paste it in the window that pops up when you click "Insert image from URL". If your browser does not have an option to copy link address, select "Open image in new tab", then copy the URL at the top.
Enjoy!
All Sports Championship Signature Images
My original signatures thread, this was based on some images I'd seen in someone else's signature. I decided to make my own version with a more simplistic style, and then to offer my services to anyone who was interested. Here's a sample of my work, my own image from my own signature, which consists of the championships of the Yankees, Mets, US Men's Curling Team, Dolphins, Jets, Giants, Rangers, Habs, 'Canes, Black Knights, Bulls, Knicks, Nets, Orange, and my very own Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball team.
Just tell me what teams you want to be included and what levels of championships you want to be included. Do you want all world championships? Do you also want divisional or league/conference championships? Do you want bowl wins or scoring trophies? And if the team has existed in multiple cities, let me know which cities you want included? Do you want the Braves' entire existence, or just their time in Milwaukee?
Here's a sample of some of the trophies that are available, but I will do anything I can to accommodate everyone. Images of the championship prizes of more obscure leagues are very helpful.
(You may need to open the image in a new tab to see at 100% size.)
"Where I Come From"
I've always been intensely interested and had a great love and appreciation for the different cultures in sports, which, of course, includes the logos and uniforms, leading me to this website.
One of the things I really loved, which was used for only one year and then seems to have completely disappeared from memory and the internet is NCAA Football 2011's ad campaign featuring the slogan "Where I Come From". In the commercial, different people described things where they came from, giving little snippets about their sporting culture. At the moment, I've only found videos of the commercials surviving on a french video site and one extremely low quality video on Youtube.
General Version: http://www.jeuxvideo...-1-00028354.htm
SEC Version: http://www.jeuxvideo...-2-00028355.htm
Big 12 Version: (Loud audio warning.)I'd often thought of doing the same for other sports. Originally, I made a full list of phrases for the MLB, and tried making signature images to go with them, but my early attempts were rather pitiful. But I took another crack at it, and the thread became a rather booming affair that I think inadvertently caused the change that currently causes signature images to be automatically shrunk. It is because of that that I've changed the size of all of these, completely remastering them from the ground up. Now, they will fit two-to-a-line rather than each image needing its own line. This will hopefully cut down on the signatures of those who like to show off their love for many different teams!
I also made a few videos to show off my process for anyone who may be interested. Unfortunately, this was all done with Office, which is no longer free and a recent computer refresh led to me losing my ability to use it. I've redone everything in Photoscape, which will lead to some visual differences, but it's gone very well! I'll still leave the video up for the non-technical parts of it.
Each image consists of five separate images: one of the team's home city, one of their home venue, with the teams logo in the center. The other two are different for each sport. If you'd like anything special, make a request. In the future, I wouldn't mind doing the other sports as well. And yes, they're all positive ones. For some, it was tough finding something positive, but I think I've succeeded. You're welcome to link me to images that you want me to use if you have special requests.

I like your ideas. (New York Rescue, Tampa Bay Tigersharks & Dallas Roughnecks)
Admittedly, Tigersharks was totally stolen from earlier in the conversation. Sharks works well, but Tigersharks sounds better together with the regional name.

They make no sense from a media standpoint. Placing teams in cities that already are packed with major league franchises (all 4 sports) is already a questionable move, but if his target audience is more conservative, 'Murica types, he would be far better off looking at Birmingham, Orlando, Texas or other Red-State locations. Putting teams in LA, NY, Seattle, DC makes no sense if you want to attract that demographic and then you add on top that no TV station in any of those markets has time to cover XFL games because of all the other teams they need to cover, and I don't see this as a recipe for a successful league.
Heard about the television deal and discussed things with my friends. While having the conversation, I saw what the cities were. At first, I was shocked that they didn't go with everyone's first move when making a new team: filling in spots without teams/that had their teams taken away from them. St. Louis is the only non-NFL city.
Then I looked at the AAF, and its quick failure. And the failure of so many teams. Looking at those cities, they're all large cities that have enough of a population that there's a better chance to get people to come. There are numerous minor league, soccer, lacrosse, and other teams in these cities that people support despite the major league saturation.
Meanwhile, in places like Birmingham, Salt Lake City, Columbus, and other suggested cities, appealing to a smaller base can get less return. Basically, Vince is throwing as much at the wall as he can, knowing the more he has the more will stick.
That being said, I am surprised San Diego wasn't picked, but I imagine that to be a matter because of the AAF already having a team there. That being said, perhaps if they have a second season they can expand by two teams and they can pick up San Diego and Orlando or something. The other shocker is the lack of Las Vegas. The Outlaws were a huge standout of the XFL. Do the Raiders have an agreement with the city that blocks any other football teams?
As for my appraisal of names I could see happening...
-East-
New York Rescue (FD/PD theme)
St. Louis Sentinels
Tampa Bay Tigersharks
Washington Hawks (double meaning with bird and war supporters)
-West-
Dallas Roughnecks
Houston Apollos
Los Angeles Lawmen (focus on John Wayne/James Arnes Western productions)
Seattle Pilots
Yes, basing an LA team seemingly off the police is a terrible idea, but it's the only thing I can think of Vince being in for.
Although what I'd really like to see (but know Vince will never do) is the Tampa Bay Manatees. Like the Dolphins, be a Florida team taking a local pride animal that's not seen as a threat and apply it to a contact sport. Make an angry manatee in a helmet your logo and market with the slogan "Be a MANatee".
EDIT: What's driving me crazy is that I had a New York identity that had green as the primary color and I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Thought of it in the car. I took a few hours coming up with the identities in the post.
Something based on the blue collar fishermen would probably also play well to the base Vince is looking for, but what I went with plays better. Couldn't think of a better name that covers both fire and police.

It needs a new name. XFL feels so dated. The days of Xtreme!!!!! are over. As a kid born in 2000 I just don't like the name. Glad to see the logo is more tame though
The XFL has become a curiosity and a novelty. Without any other information, a huge audience was going to tune in. Sticking with the name is free marketing.
So, I've never seen discussion of a new league like this. Does theorizing about what the league will be like in terms of locations and identities belong in here, in concepts, or in sports in general?
What do you guys think is coming in terms of logos and identities?

Woop! Signatures are back, and the images are at full size. Looks beautiful, but I'm gonna have to talk to the people using 3-5 in one image.
-
On the note of signing in, my screen name has spaces. Will the sign-in protocol allow spaces to be input?
Also, I have yet to comment on the most offensive part of this upgrade. Fearless Leader's avatar is now way out of whack. The blurriness hurt my eyes. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. XD

On mobile, I don't exactly like how when you go to a topic you've been frequently active on, it goes right back to the first page as opposed to the recent page
I didn't like in the old board how you were forced to go to the last page on your phone. I wish we had the pages listed so we could choose where we want to go, or maybe we go to first if we click the title and last if we click "latest reply".

Not huge on not being able to see members' join dates below their profile. Really helped to tip us off to who the noobs were.
EDIT: Notifications are a bad, bad thing.EDIT EDIT: Okay, seriously, is there a way to turn them off? I have my setting set as low as I can, and I still get them when someone likes my posts.
Sorry to cause you such a headache. XD I definitely agree with your point, though.
On a side note, going through old threads, it seems that the earlier complaints about quotes is a matter of old quotes not correctly making the transition to the new format. I'd thought perhaps it was a matter of phone vs. computer, but all the old quotes are now screwed up. As visible in this thread, though, any new quotes work perfectly fine, actually better than before.

Well, such settings as signatures and image sizes can be handled with local settings. I wish that would be the final choice rather than a global shrinkening.
-
Huh. I seem to be in a bit of a situation at the moment. While we await the return of sigs, I'm out of business. It's okay, I'm fine with waiting. What intrigues me is that the artificial limit on image sizes seems to have been lifted. There was always a limit to image sizes (860px), but suddenly a new size restriction was added but never mentioned that shrunk anything above 589px down to that size. Going back and looking at my thread, all the images I've created are now larger and in stunning quality. I love it. Hopefully this remains, although given that I kind of think those who have put up to five of my images into their sig, I'll have to try to more actively get people to not go overboard this time.
I don't like the round avatar at all, as it cuts out so much space for not much more reason than "It looks modern and neat." But hearing that that's a setting is nice, as well as the notifications. Like everyone else, I'm looking greatly forward to the future of the boards!
EDIT: Although the notification system may need a little tweaking. After my comment, it told me there were now four new replies in this thread, and told me Hawk had commented again. Probably just a setting I need to fix.

A long time ago I'd made up a football-style realignment for baseball and sent it in to Jeff Passan in response to his realignment article he'd written at the time.
To show you how long ago it was, I remarked on the AL South, which allowed either the Rangers, Royals, or Rays to get in the playoffs, something none of them had seriously done in some time. I still wanted to include a wild card, and thought they could take on the lowest seed in a one-three game set. Now we've got two wild cards and I'm unsure as to how I'd apply that, but still, here's my pointless realignment (with changes made for Houston's defection).
American League
East: New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Toronto Blue Jays
North: Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers
South: Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Rays
West: Anaheim Angels, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners, Las Vegas Superstars
National League
East: New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Nationals
North: Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals
South: Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, cincinatti Reds, New Orleans Cajuns
West: Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks
I had to make some tough choices. I felt Cubs-Cards to be more important than Mets-Braves. I kept the leagues intact, but maybe a little later I'll take another pass with whatever league alignment I want. Might as well go the whole nine yards for the hypothetical.
