Both my first and middle names end in downward slashes, so I just imagine it's a shorter distance in writing out my name and I learned it that way. I also wear a watch on my dominant hand, cut food with my non-dominant hand and do all sorts of things because I learned it that way myself without anyone saying different and it just feels natural to me.

Given my last name is Snowman, I can't imagine starting an S there. But, I draw my print S from the bottom and was always told that was weird, so... maybe? But I feel that first stroke is necessary to set the tone. The explanation for the Seals bear uniform did it for me.

After switching the D back. I didn't realize it was any different from any other T and now that I see how short the older T's crossbar is on the right side, I can't unsee "Jigers".

There are many things wrong with the logo. I feel like a college thesis could be written on it. But if I were to say the absolute weakest quality of it is the light color. It's one thing of a black background, but most style guides just present it on white. There's no background. And then you've got the exact same color combination (just reversed) on the helmet! It really weakens the aesthetics.

I... never noticed how friggin' steeply that wordmark grew as it went along.

This isn't as bad as it could have been because it was leaked that this was in the works. So it's not a horrific surprise. I'd thought that they were obtrusive because I watched games without noticing at all, but for some reason they're saving the patches. Glad the color matches. Was really hoping for AT&T so it would be just navy and we could make plenty of Death Star jokes. Rote, but still fun. Now the fandom is just making injury jokes. It's like they just went with the one that focused on the side panels that nobody likes but they were pushing as the height of technology and aesthetics at the time. Like a rhinestone cowboy. Looks like an identity they can have fun with. At least it goes all the way around now.

Oof. THEY'RE LITERALLY JUST DIFFERENT SHADES OF THE SAME COLORS!!! They must have been desperate for a brand to partner with them and Marathon wouldn't budge on the color.

I thought the whole point of it being two games was because each is sacrificing one home game. Why would you do it with one team home both? I coulda sworn the Yankees and Red Sox switched, but I may be misremembering.

The post-pandemic flip of what's worn for the Derby and what's worn for the game have been disastrous.

As I mentioned when bringing up the possibility, I wholeheartedly agree with you. The problem is that this line of thinking depends on the people in charge showing a respect for the history of the franchise and not wanting to make up something new they can sell and "put their mark on" things. Nothing about this ownership suggests respect for the franchise, let alone the current culture.

I would be fine if all they did to the identity was a small color change. "The Las Vegas A's have announced they're changing from Athletic Gold to Vegas Gold."

No problem, @maxwasson! When I saw that there was a message in here, I expected a Nuggets fan. And I chuckled thinking it wouldn't be you because you'd already gotten the Kings added. I forgot you had Vegas too. I changed the logo a bit to add the shield because the helmet as it was didn't play well with their new gold. If you don't like, I can switch it back.

I figured a Three Rivers thing. But I don't expect no reference to this.

I actually was wondering if the A's would change. Obviously, I don't think they should, but that's for reason of history and such, and how much do people find that more important than flashy new stuff nowadays? But the renderings for their home have featured the current A sooooo much. I know that it's all tentative, but it seemed like such a major feature, including a large statue of it at the entrance.

Huh... I didn't notice until just now that those aren't the final socks we got for Baltimore. Perhaps these were early pictures and not all made it to the final stage?

Is there anyone in the world that wouldn't prefer cartoon bird with B or recursive birds for eternity until any human that beholds it sinks into madness?
