It's about a color that three NFL teams are currently sharing shades of. If this went to an actual court, the only question is, "How was the NFL injured by this"?
It's about this precise shade, used in combination with red, looking like the Oilers - which is very clear from that photo. How are they harmed? Another entity is making money off an image they own.

As much as people hate it or think it's petty, if they don't defend the colors, then they lose them, and anyone can start selling merchandise without their approval.
This isn't about UH. It's about their property.

Really like this. Nice incorporation of a third color.

Whoever owns that overhead camera used on broadcasts really, really needs to color balance it. It made St. Louis' blue pants look purple and DC's red uniforms look orange.

Were those Baltimore, Memphis, and St. Louis uniforms legit? It seems odd to me that teams that never came to fruition would have gone that far down the branding road.
They were. That Houndogs isn't anything like that fake Mountain Dew dog, and it's been around for awhile. I also would like to see the sheets for the other three.
People have also shown actual Stallions and Bombers unis that were made for unveiling just in case.

Looks more like UTEP than the Broncos.
I was thinking the same thing. And that's not a compliment for either of them.

But is drawing twice the next highest figure, when THAT FIGURE isn't significant, in itself significant?

the "icy whites" circle jerk around this jersey is going to make me want to return my internet with receipt in hand
"circle jerk"... "in hand"... I see what you did there...

The appropriate context is the fact that an attendance of 31,000 is still excellent. That's far more important than the drop from the all-time record.
It would be a mistake to consider that huge attendance to be some kind of problem. To expect the team to set a new record every home game is not reasonable.
Not expecting them to set records each week, but also not expecting them to lose a fifth of their crowd, either.
Look, I'm hoping the league makes it. I was a fan of the previous XFLs and the USFLs (especially the 1980s version), and the AAF and whatever else you want. But I can't ignore a dropoff like that.
Let's hope for the best.

40,000 one week, 31,000 the next week, 22% drop. I don't know how that's out of context.

Good lord, why are so many people acting like this is the end of the world?
I didn't say that at all. I was just asking for reactions. "Defensive" is a reaction!
BTW, that's a 22% drop week over week. Just noting.

Anyone want to comment on the drop of 9,000 in St. Louis?

These stupid undershirts, man. People design a uniform, and nobody sees it the way it was intended because even at the unveilings, people are wearing stupid-ass dummy shirts that create (at best) a cummerbund effect, and at worst, a "fat kid in t-shirt at the pool" effect.

Now about a week before the season starts, the Louisiana VooDoo have moved from Lake Charles to Lafayette.
I can't shake the feeling that this iteration of the AFL is doomed.

It's a slow healing process. But maybe it will look better with the uniform when we see it.
Just when it seemed to be healing, the Texans pulled at the scab.

Not enough, apparently - St. Louis excepted.

I know that Utah now apparently has a law that Utah has to be the name and not Salt Lake. But it would be pretty cool to see the Salt Lake Bees have the Salt Lake A's across town.
Source? I see an article saying a group trying to get a team promises to use "Utah," but I don't see any law. Just curious.

lol no one actually says “ex-eye-eye”.
Roman numerals are a thing and you’re just nitpicking.
Nah not disrespecting the Big XII, just the Big TEN.

This ^^ goes back to my post from last week, the TV cameras need to do better color balancing, because SA colors seem to depend on the camera watching them! On TV today, they looked much yellower than these photos look. And last week, they looked either yellow, athletic gold or highlighter yellow, depending on the camera shot.

In the sunlight, SA looks yellow, but at home last week, they looked all shades of yellow, including athletic gold!

Wait you’ve actually heard people call it “the B1G”
No just typing it. But it's weird to type "B1G" and say "Big Ten." But that's just me, apparently!
Update: Maybe I can start calling myself a fan of the <UFL>
