  1. IMO only professional athletes should have their names on the back of their uniforms. I don't care how much money a university makes off it's athletes. Or how much many boosters give college players under the table. They are still amateur athletes. Once the government starts taxing the income you make playing a sport then (and only then) should you be given the privelge of having your name on the back of your jersey.

Same applies to high school and youth sports. Names off!

  2. Soccer leagues should mandate that players shoes/cleats be in the same color as the team uniform. Shoes are parts of the uniform. If your team wears black & red uniforms, you better damn well have on black & red shoes. Not green, orange, blue, or yellow! I find it hard to belive that soccer cleat/shoe manufacturers are unable to make their product in the specific team colors. IMO, there is no excuse for that in professional athletics.

  3. Even Wrigley Field is corporately sponsored.

I know what he's trying to say about Nationals Park and Marlins Park, though. They do just sound like mere placeholders. You'd expect such massive and modern structures to have names of their own, not just "(Team Name) Park," especially considering these massive engines of commerce aren't terribly parklike. Yankee Stadium works because we're used to it

    Pretty much that.

If it weren't for the Baltimore Orioles playing in Camden Yards, I would love for Nationals Park to be renamed Navy Yard Stadium.

  4. Syracuse will be playing in the ACC in 2013. They've (or we've I guess if it's the university I attend) come to a settlement with the Big East for $7.5M. Still no word on what's gonna happen with Pittsburgh yet

Waiting to see if they need to be subbed in for Penn State presumably.

Is it a real possibility that Penn State could get the death penalty for the Sandusky cover up?

If so, wouldn't that F up the B1G since a conference needs 12 teams in order to hold a championship game?

  5. I'd like to see the NBA, MLB, and NCAA adopt a strict uniform policy similar to the NFL. Honestly how many alternate uniforms does a team need? It's a ridiculous money making ploy. I'd like to see teams limited to one alternate unifom, which could only be worn a certain number of times per year.

I agree, but money talks and with schools like Oregon and Maryland, those alternates sell.

Maryland's alts sure didn't bring in enough money to help save several athletic programs from being cut recently.

  7. I like the use of colored jerseys in MLB, yet hate matchups that are color vs color. Guess years of watching pro sports won't allow me to except color vs color matchups at the pro level (except for Lakers home games). Somebody has to wear white (or in the case of MLB gray).

  8. The amount of special uniforms, and multiple combinations in college football is getting out of hand. The NCAA needs to enforce a uniform policy. At the very least, teams should to be limited to one godamn helmet.

It's too bad that's an unpopular opinion, but it'll never be changed. Money talks.

I don't know about that. I think it could happen if someone high up in the NCAA had the balls to enforce it. If the NFL can do it, so can NCAA. Just think of how much money the NFL could make if they had no uniform restrictions. The suits in the NFL front office know it, but they still won't allow it.

I'm hoping this is just a fad that passes in the near future. I can't take a team seriously if they don't have a single look they I can easily identify.

  9. The Boise State Bronco head logo looks better than the Denver Bronco's logo. And yes, I'm very aware that Boise's logo is based heavily on Denver's. IMO they improved upon it.

The UAB dragon logo is underrated.
