The only Ringer stuff I can consume is their MLB podcast and articles, and that’s mostly just cause I’m a big fan of Ben Lindbergh.

Rich Hill on August 23 became the first pitcher to lose a no hitter on a walk-off home run.
The inning before that, he became the first to ever lose a perfect game on an error in the ninth inning.

If Brandoise gets a hold of it, we'll probably wind up with the Amarillo Armadillos. Which is actually not bad, by their standards.
Amarillo Yellow Armadillos?

David Ross has joined the booth at ESPN -- weeks after major layoffs decimated their baseball dept.
I've only watched one inning of the Cards-Sox game he's doing but I think he's a good addition to the booth, at any rate.

I forget just which company ran these ads, but last season, there was a company that ran commercials on Sportsnet that had the slogan "the 5th season", obviously hockey being that "5th" season, and I wanted to shoot myself after hearing those ads multiple times over during games.
It took me an embarrassingly long time to understand that it didn't mean a player's 5th season of hockey.

Apparently, screwing the entire city of Edmonton just wasn't enough for Daryl Katz.
I mean, looking at the guy, does it really come as a surprise?

They won the Central by 17 games. I don't think Chapman was worth that much.
In fact I'm pretty sure he had a negative WPA in the playoffs, so he helped them lose more than he helped them win.

Speaking of Oilers...
Ryan Smyth in Colorado, Los Angeles and New York is so wrong.

Then I'll counter it by saying that the claw-ball is much superior.
Claw-ball rules, I love the Raptors current identity.
But Huskies would be a much better identity.

Miguel Cabrera has never had less than 103 RBI in a full season, and only twice had an average below .300.

Rougarou would have been a fantastic name.
Or they could've just kept Zephyrs, y'know.

I usually don't like minor league teams taking too much after their major league affiliates, but I love that OKC Dodgers hat.

Zephyrs was such a great name though

I never liked these jerseys nor understood why people love them:
1. The colours are very drab and the green bleeds into the black.
2. The logo doesn't even line up with the star pattern the jersey is using
3. The CCM cut was always baggy. These though make the cut look even baggier do the bottom and the pants blending into one another.
4. The template isn't even original.... it was used for All-Star jerseys 1st. Copying a ASG template? Why?
5. The number on the back actually bleeds into the striping. That's a huge no-no, IMO. It even happened with single digits.
Need I go on? This whole jersey was a failure. Even the shoulder patch looks out of place with it having no gold in it unlike everything else with white also having a little gold. I was more than happy to see these go.
Yeah I used to love these jerseys but they really don't work. The Stars look better now than they ever have (excluding the North Stars).

I actually think of the Astros with Biggio, Bagwell, Derek Bell, and to an extent Lance Berkman.
This isn't an argument against the name, but the Red Sox seem to have their own Killer B's developing in Bogaerts, Betts, Bradley and Benintendi.

The Ringer’s over-coverage of the NBA is a shame because it overshadows their underrated baseball coverage. They do a better job than anyone of blending the stat-heavy (which I love) and the more journalistic-y stuff that gets the wider audiences.
