Looks like teal pants with black socks. Finally wearing this look against Houston. Great contrast.

Woof, how long has it been since we had a decent, colorful, contrasting matchup between these two, with the Texans already confirmed navy/white? And WTB for the first time in two years! I'm praying on my hands and knees that they're not planning on busting out the color rush a second time for the finale next week, and they finish the season strong by going teal over white against the Titans for the first time with this set. Then, (hopefully) finally, a home playoff game in this set.

*12 combos over 16 games, which matches last years total over 17 games

This color scheme is just bush league. They just don't go together whatsoever. They got it right with the first Titans set that was ONLY navy, columbia and white, and zero red accessories used. Such a fresh look, yet as soon as red creeps into the fold it takes on a revolting XFL-like edge. Red is only an accent for the logo as a nod to the original identity and state flag, and it hardly even belongs in that overdesigned mess of an emblem. At least its currently confined to the swooshes on the actual regulated uniform, but then they get all squirrely with their red accessories. Overhead shots of their red-laden stadium filled with shirts of various shades of blue are especially nauseating. Is it a team color or not?? It damn well shouldn't be as long as they no longer call themselves the O-words. And I haven't even begun on the 50 shades of grey they've injected into the mix. 32/32 identity.

Also, sidebar for a light Jax-jacking: If the Jags wind up winning their division, we will finally see what the Jags consider to be their "true" home look. Their identity as it is suffers immensely from not having a single touchstone uniform, if it isn't just their white over black look they're so incessant about. I'm almost more anxious for that than to see them actually perform in the postseason.

What a major disappointment for Dallas's first game at Jacksonville since 2006. Black was only worn once in 2021 by the Jags, and now it is being worn for a third time this season. and the second straight home game.

So the Jags had 7 home games this year that weren’t the auto-black London game plus 1 away game where the home team wore WAH. Out of those 8 chances they had to look their best, they wore:

-Teal with white leggings on the road x1

    -WAH x1

    -Alts x2

    -Teal color rush x1

-Their best look, teal over black (socks notwithstanding), x2

And I expect with their final chance in a potentially huge week 18 matchup they will bring the color rush count to x2. Three games total in teal jerseys that weren’t color rush. I dearly hope this pseudo-Oregon act is attached only to the current jerseys and goes away when they go back to the classic, because they’re making it difficult at this point to even feel like the primary jersey was made right a year ago,

Unrelated: is the mobile version of the message board becoming unusable for anyone else? The ads make my phone hot, and constant lock-ups/freeze-ups are followed by random page reloads. I’ve resorted to composing posts in the Notes app on my phone and pasting in because I can’t get the message board to work long enough to type a post, which is why I haven’t been posting much

YES! I’ve been wondering where to complain about this. The ads make the page take forever to load, it almost never loads all at once on the first try, and frequently the entire page falls apart mid-scroll and I have to refresh several times to get it back to a proper readable website. Writing a post is nerve wracking because you have no idea when the website will spontaneously combust and you have to start over.  I’ve tried the notes app strategy, but whenever I paste text from an outside text box, it shows up in this font that is much bigger and uglier than the rest of the website. I know this community runs off of a generic message board shell, so whoever is responsible for that shell has some damn work to do web design-wise. It’s almost 2023!!

The Jags have begun to field opinions from the fans on uniforms. They aren’t explicitly saying it’s for a redesign like the Broncos and it probably means there won’t be any changes quite next year. Regardless, it’s very important that they’re finally letting the fans voice their near unanimous attitude on the matter, cause we could’ve avoided a lot of messes if they’d ever thought to do so before. Look at those numbers for the classic era! The Duval faithful wont let us down on this one.

Probably unpopular here, but I think the 49ers adding the third stripe to the sleeves was a huge downgrade.

it's not because they don't fit on the modern sleeves, they obviously do. The 2 stripes just matched the helmet and pants so perfectly. Especially on the white uniform, each element had the exact same stripe, it was perfectly balanced. Adding the third stripe back completely ruined that.

Stripe consistency brain rot continues to be one of this websites biggest mistakes.

Hell yeah. Should be black socks but at least it's not teal. This partially makes up for the Dolphins Lions game when there was no blue or aqua.

I like this one a lot here, especially if the Lions go throwbacks here instead of against the Vikings or Bears (their last two chances otherwise). Just two unadorned unis with the colors speaking for themselves. Also, now 11 different combos in 12 games, with all 11 different teams they’ve played seeing a unique combo. They wore 12 last year and have already pulled one out that they didn’t wear last year. Like Oregon but with game checks.

It's probably a pretty decent measure of what fans want. Unless you're expecting a peer reviewed study of a survey taken at the entrance to the games, it's probably the best measure you're going to get. It going to be biased in a couple ways because of the demographic of the people who use Twitter and Reddit, but again, it's going to be a the "best" measure of what fans want.

We are aware of what the fans want. We don’t frequently align.

  9. Dang. I’ve been quietly hoping to see the Jags in teal jerseys over either non-teal pants vs the Ravens in white over purple ever since the Ravens first debuted their purple pants because teal/purple/black is my guilty pleasure color scheme. If you told me before the season that the Ravens would go purple pants for this game I’d’ve been ecstatic. Kind of a dream matchup, so seeing black jerseys by complete surprise sorta chafes me. Though, teal pants keeps it from being the end of the world. Definitely a very unique matchup. This does scare me that black over white might not be six feet under after all. Also, is the Ravens graphic implying they go WPW for the first time? Or did they happen to pick a hosiery heretic to show off the jersey and pants?

I’ll save the tracker, though this is their 10th unique combo in 11 games. Makes you wonder why even repeat WBW if you’re gonna make such a habit of mixing and matching, let alone against the same team three weeks apart.

I think it's clear that you can designate a new AHU doesn't start a timer given that the Eagles have their '22 AHU as their all-black set, but their '23 AHU will be their throwbacks.  Unless they allow for a 4th helmet, that would imply that the AHU can be a 1-year thing if the team wants it that way.

True. Whether the Eagles next year are allowed to have both their Alternate #1 (Color Rush) and Alternate #2 (Classic) be designated to AHUs with two different shell colors, or if they will be allowed to introduce a new shell but be forced to revert their Color Rush to having the primary shell will tell us a lot about how the league treats alternate helmets.

  11. Okay, in trying to help myself and others make sense of the rules surrounding the Bengals and Panthers alternate helmets, I went ahead and made this handy diagram. It synthesizes the rules that we know about how alternates work to demystify what "Color Rush" means to the league internally and to delineate how the Bengals and Panthers alternate helmet designations were, believe it or not, conceived following the same ruleset with no "exceptions" involved. God I hope this is legible here lol. You might have to click to expand it. Following the direct link to here may make it easier.

Awww sweetheart, they tried. Next best thing? Just wear blue pants. There are even videos and quotes of Simmons and Wilson talking about it. They pushed for it.

A ridiculous amount of you do not understand these things are fluid. There are people who make decisions, and this people are people. They change their minds. Russ got the next best thing and got blue pants rest of the season. You'll see.

And do you really think I'd post an actual photo of Bengals black helmets and elf over my source?

You got small PP vibes WSU.

When the Bengals unveiled their new uniforms last year, I was pretty convinced that the away jersey/set was custom made for the white tiger helmet whenever it would be introduced. I was a little disappointed to see the just brought back the old Color Rush. I think the newer set looks a lot sleeker, whether it be because its simpler, or the font fits a bit better, or whatever that reason is. I'm just not 100% sold on that Color Rush set when the current all white would do the same thing, but better.

    I mean, this:

Looks better overall IMO than this:

    1428858834-850x560.jpeg

This was their exact thought. It clearly was made specifically for this, but the ever cryptic rules which surround color rush meant that they couldn’t designate a new “color rush” until next year because apparently their current all-whites with the normal helmet was designated such a year ago. So they brought up the old color rush for it because it technically didn’t get bumped out of its alternate slot when they changed their other three jerseys. I think it’s designated now as a normal alternate that happens to be all white so maybe next year they can wear it with their current whites as intended, though I don’t know if designating the white helmet to their old now-normal alternate “color rush” started a new timer for when the new helmet can be designated to a different uniform. I don’t know, color rush is literally a make believe concept that the league decided is an integral part of uniform rotations in the most important sports enterprise in America for some reason. I don’t know.

This is the best possible matchup between the Chargers and Chiefs IMO. Also one of the best possible matchups across the whole league.

People are still waiting for blue over yellow vs white over red to come out, and it will since I don’t see either of these teams changing any time soon. Though every matchup between them so far has still been pinch perfect regardless, and will continue to be as long as the Chargers don’t go color rush (and they will).

With the exception this year that they’re regularly going with white socks with it, which would appear to be the only difference from last year’s combo matrix. Strangely it’s the only combo they’ve duplicated through 10 weeks despite only wearing it once before in their history. I mean, it’s a win for contrast I guess but that was never the pressing issue with this uni. Theyve looked good in WBB before, but we all know what’s wrong with the current iteration. This would’ve been a great week to go WTW, but oh well. They’re also starting to get a little tardy as far as announcing a new set for next year, so all we can do now is keep praying.

They wound up wearing black socks instead despite clearly indicating white socks in the graphic. It’s the first time since they started announcing sock colors that they’ve worn something different than was announced in their weekly graphic, which is definitely not gonna mess with my head whenever I see the weekly graphic from now on.

First time they’ve worn their most common combo this year, which makes nine unique combos in ten games.

Denver in white tops/navy pants again? Is one game not enough? The Broncos have been abominable with their play on the field. Now they want to be an abomination with their uniforms.

I want to rail Denver for choosing to wear something so heinously conceived, yet at the same time it doesn’t sit well that Id be arguing in favor of this vice versa.

Is there something I'm missing in Atlanta spotlighting their black helmets??
