  1. Clint just tries way too hard. He just needs to mellow out. I think having Harvick with him can help. It's only been one race, and Kevin had some growing pains; but I think all this group needs is time together.

  2. Kaulig really has assembled a good team in Xfinity with AJ droping back, and them acquiring Josh Williams, and the services of SVG. They announced that they'll still be running the #10 in 2024; as they got former truck series driver Daniel Dye for 10 races. Unsure if they will still have Derek Kraus, or will still get to have Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson and others.

  3. This whole situation wouldn't have happened if McCarthy would stop being an idiot and run the ball. Was the fumble last week so scary it's given you an adverse reaction to running the ball? It was a freak play; something that may only happen once every one hundred times that play is run. Heck, even a kneeldown could have worked.

Would it be good sportsmanship? Not really. But, they had one timeout left and a little over a minute left. You should be doing everything in your power to win the game. They'd have about 30 seconds left to score a touchdown and try to win that way.

It doesn't matter. No team from the NFC is beating San Francisco; they're all going to fight amongst themselves to see who earns the right to lose to them in the NFC Championship.

  4. AJ Allmendinger wins the ROVAL race at Charlotte.

He couldn't race in the Xfinity Series race because it's a playoff race, and he declared for the Cup Series Championship; he probably would've won yesterday and made it five in a row. Byron probably had the better car, and it was excruciating watching those last 10 laps, but man it sure felt good seeing him cross the line first.

A little late, but Austin Hill is staying with RCR on a multi-year extension. He'll return to XFINITY in the 21 full-time again next year.

That will end the Hill to Kaulig rumors that sprung up over the last month.

On the disappointing side, but it is what it is. No use complaining about it. The ride is still open, so hopefully they do their homework and find the best candidate for the position.

  6. I think they wanted to get rid of Noah by any means necessary and they finally got their due cause. Toyota probably didn't want him, and they obviously want someone else in that role. JHN.

While I think it's suspension worthy, certainly not indefinite. He already had a season from hell, and this is basically a gut punch to him. Humbling experience for sure.

Yea my mind is boggled that they decided to do a Sunday night race, that’s what caused most of this. Saturday night race no issues, can easily finish in the morning. Sunday night race takes that ability away completely.

It makes sense why they did, the summer heat and all. But, if they knew that rain was on the way; they could've at least moved up the start time by like half an hour or so.

  8. It was a wet fart of an ending last night. Throughout the race there was a lot of a lot of good racing. It's a shame rain had to, once again, crash the party.

A few guys got best finishes of the season, and JJ Yeley got his first Top 10 in a decade.

  9. He was flat out better than everyone. When you're two full seconds faster than the leader, it's not a matter of if you'll catch them, but when.

Haley drove his heart out. He got lucky the first time because a caution came out. He did manage a crossover to get the lead back, but the amount of talent, combined with the rocket ship was too much for Justin, or anyone else for that matter, to overcome.

  10. The race this Sunday in Chicago through the streets has to be the most interesting and intriguing race the Cup Series has has since, I don't know, Indianapolis in 1994? We'll get to see how both the car, and the drivers work in a street race environment. Not being biased here, I swear, but I think AJ Allmendinger should be the favorite to win on Sunday. I think out of everyone in the field, he probably has the most experience racing  on a street course experience (outside of Jenson, and the entrant in the 91; van Gisbergen). The Cup car is a lot different than an open wheel car, but the point still stands. He's strung together two Top 10s after a horrendously dreadful start to his season. He might be turning it around, and with this race as probably the regular season's biggest Wild Card; he has a golden opportunity to make his way into the Chase.

Jimmie Johnson was in the entry list, but has withdrawn due to the horrific incident involving his wife's family. I hope he, his wife, and both of their families find peace in these times.

  11. I don't get the love affair people have with Fontana. I've always hated the track, and the racing it had for as long as I've been a fan, which is now over a quarter of a century. (I've been a fan as long as the track has been apart of the circuit.)

You say the last few years have had great racing, but conveniently leave out the fact the track has had about two decades of crappy, subpar, and boring racing. It happened, those snoozefests happened. You can't change the past. The track may have had great racing in the past few years, but it doesn't change the fact this track was bad.

I, for one, will be glad to see this track reconfigured. Now, if they could only reconfigure Texas into a parking lot...
