No miracle run from the Heat this year.

What a weird year.  After striking out on Dame in the offseason we mostly stood pat and didn't get a whole lot worse, then Jaquez/Jovic turned out to be studs and we flipped Lowry for Terry Rozier, So on paper this was an upgraded roster from a team that made the Finals. 

During the season, some rotation guy was always hurt, but we weren't exactly lighting the world on fire when healthy. We found ourselves in the play-in in the crowded lower half of the East, same spot we started the run last year and it just dies as soon as it begins.

Would we have made another Play-In to Finals run fully healthy? Regular season performance says no, but that's what I thought last year.

Very unsure what to make of this ending.  No clue if we were health away from making another run, or if this is just a plain mediocre 7th seed.

Yeah I’m not a huge fan of that either. The grey is too dark and shouldn’t be more prominent than red imo. 

Gold should be helmet stripe only. 
 

Any addition on the jersey or pants puts it closer to Saints territory, which should be avoided at all costs.

(Although the Falcons throwback gold is a true gold not the washed out blah the Saints use)

Ugh I hope the numbers are blue on the white jerseys. 
 

I thought we left outline only numbers behind years ago. 

I like the split back on those Raptors jerseys. It does the job of two uniforms with one and saves us from games in a pointless alt. 
 

Although in the current NBA they’d wear Drake Night jerseys and whatever NORTH is for 50% of the time anyways so I’d rather have purple and black separate.

White socks with the green pants are the only thing this set is missing. 
 

Although if they added a white sock option it’d probably be worn with the white pants too so maybe it’s for the best. 

Atlanta gets back at Omaha again, cementing themselves as best team in the league, especially since they're the only teams above .500

Also caught a little bit of Grand Rapids Rise/Vegas Thrill, and wow does Rise sound awkward as hell as a team name, even compared to the other singular names in the league.

Looks like a modern art World Cup., I like it. Even though that comparison is there you're not mistaking it for anything else.

The logo is pretty bad, looks like a local news graphic.

Hopefully this embarrassment makes teams stop putting slogans about how great they are on the uniforms and court.

I've always thought Stanford athletics would have a tought time in the NIL & transfer portal era. I don't blame her for bowing out now. 

Also not for nothing, Cameron Brink said part of her decision to go to the WNBA was that she didn’t want to constantly take flights to ACC country during the school year. 

In the sadness montage portion of One Shining Moment there’s a clip of a dejected Nebraska player that’s not even from the tournament (Huskers wore white in the tourney, he’s in red in the clip)

Never noticed they use non-Tourney clips before and now I feel cheated

Absolutely unreal effort by South Carolina to go undefeated. 
 

This is a complete team. Players 1-9 can all give you problems. 

Brownie the Elf is whimsical and should have been the primary eons ago.
 

They’d have the market of whimsy all to themselves in this league but instead would rather have a logo every team has some variation of. 

Caught a little glimpse of it. Hated the scorebug placement.

It was off in the bottom left instead of being a bar at the bottom. Looked more like one of those pop-up stats graphics than an actual scorebug.

I don’t think it should have been called, but I get why they called it. 
 

UConn also played pretty bad in the second half, I was surprised they wound up with a chance to win it. 

Still, at the end of the day, I just think it’d have been cooler if it wasn’t called (even if I don’t see that UConn possession going anywhere)

Yeah that is true. 
 

Not sure why we’d make the change tho, we’re one of the few schools who’s kept regular block forever. 

New font for Nebraska?

It’s pretty much Washington’s font, I’d bet this is Adidas moving away from plain block for all its schools. 
 

Not a fan if so, it just looks wrong.

Pretty much the font Washington’s using, I’d imagine this would be an Adidas-wide switch since I don’t see us requesting anything other than plain block.

Either way, the year ends in a 4 which means UConn’s winning the Men’s and Women’s tournaments, as they did in ‘04 and ‘14. 

Wow. My March-only eyes missed that completely, I only knew that Bueckers was back after missing last year. 
 

They were so much more poised at the end of the game than USC, must have fooled me.

I think she was more hurt than she was saying too, after she exited the game both her and the LSU offense lost all their mojo. 
 

Either way tho, you weren’t beating Caitlin Clark with that defensive gameplan. 

Iowa will face UConn in the Final Four. Geno’s got that machine running well as ever now that everyone’s healthy. I could see Bueckers matching Clark’s energy in a scoring duel. 
 

NC State vs. South Carolina in the other matchup. South Car will likely coast. 
 

Also, first time ever two different schools have both their men’s and women’s teams make the final four.
