They go out there way to point out most of the players in this league have played major D1 volleyball, played in an high level overseas leagues and/or played in international volleyball competition. I never doubted the quality of play would be an issue.
Realistically where do you think this team will peak for attendance this season? Keeping in mind Omaha is one of the best Could you imagine the arena opening up sections that were previously unavailable? How close do you think they could get to reaching the arena's max capacity?
I knew it would be high quality, but I was still impressed in person. It’s instantly clear you’re watching a level above college, which is awesome.
I don’t think we have any section off limits currently. Lower bowls were near completely full and there were people in the upper bowls around the arena.
For a playoff/championship game I think we maybe get up to 15k, especially if it’s on a weekend.
The arena’s volleyball attendance record is 15.8k for Nebraska/Creighton, and I don’t think this league is at the point yet where it could surpass the two universities.
I was at that NU/Creighton game and there were still some empty seats in the upper bowl, so there’s still room to grow.

Went to the Supernovas game today!
Another attendance record, this time a little over 11.9k.
The atmosphere was great. It was a step down from a college game, but not by as much as I expected.
A big part of that was that we didn’t have any team-specific cheers, which hopefully will come in due time.
Level of play was also awesome. I was super impressed with the serving, you don’t really see balls bend like that in college.
Merch at the arena was super basic, none of that Lawlor’s stuff was there (at least by the section I was at).
The merch also didn’t do a good job of establishing our colors since we had a pretty equal mix of light blue, navy, purple, pink, and white stuff for sale.
Definitely plan on going again if I have time to make it down.

Steph vs. Sabrina was awesome. They used their respective leagues’ balls but both shot from the NBA line and did better than anyone in the actual three point contest did.
The dunk contest was ass but we seem to alternate between good and bad years now so hopefully Mac sticks around in the G League to do it again.

Vegas desperately needs blue numbers on their homes. I can’t read them at all.

Nickelodeon’s scorebug was unironically better

Omaha knocks off undefeated Grand Rapids! Lot of parity in this league, which is nice to see. The margin for error is so small every night out.

The new set needs green pants with a single white stripe to be worn with white socks on the road.
Legacy uniforms full time will be incredible, especially if they fix the one striping inconsistency.

Tbf I didn't notice any egregious blunders from Shanahan this time around
12 or so straight passes to start the second half with the best running back in the NFL was odd

Pregame warmups show a heavy preference for white sox with the Niners. Joy.

One step forward one step back from the last field these teams played on.
Love that the 49ers are not using the helmet again in the end zone, looked so weird when just one team did it, but hate how the wordmark is outlined instead of the previous gold text.

Is that supposed to be Vegas lights themed? Not sure if I’m a fan yet

Wow.
The team was looking pretty good, this has to be something scandalous.

There’s the seed being planted for the super league.
The only question now is when and who.

And now a win against #6 Wisconsin, Down go the Badgers in Lincoln
AHHHHHH ITS HAPPENING!!!
14-1 at home, absolutely dreadful on the road. If we get in the Omaha bracket, watch out.

Looks like most, if not all, of the Niners are gonna be going with white socks.
At least we might get some uniformity.
Looks like all the players shown have worn white instead of red in the past.
I think we’re getting a mix, but primarily white like the Commanders game earlier this year.

And, if you discount two seasons (2000 and 2012), the Ravens have had a similar playoff futility. Most teams don't even have those two seasons though.
If you remove the right years you can make that argument for every team.

It’ll look even better than last time since the Niners have their proper three stripes instead of two.

No way the universe is this cruel to Lions fans, right…

Probably the best offensive year of basketball we’ve ever seen.
Wonder if they’ll try to nerf it with some new rules/emphasis, or if 70 points becomes the new 50.

Sounds like an excellent idea although I wonder if they draw a FIBA 3pt line for Sabrina or both will use NBA one. Also if they want that to be fair both of them should use 3x3 Ball instead of regular size 6 and 7.
They’ll probably just use their respective 3 point lines and balls.
The college slam dunk and three point championships have had this for years, and it’s a huge hit.

I’m no fan of the Lions’ pointless all whites, but at least it’s a cohesive look from the neck down.
I’ll take the all whites every day of the week over those dumb white socks with white pants the Eagles wore during the last Super Bowl

If they weren’t pullovers I’d be all about the Nats’ home uniforms, tho I’d prefer the DC front and center.
Roads are kind of a snoozer, but as long as they actually wear grey every road game we’re good.

Very Falcons thing to do where you refuse to hire your 4-7 interim, hire a doofus from outside the organization for three years of nothing football, then fire him and hire the interim you could have had in the first place.
Those three years of Art now mean even less.
Not super stoked on Heem based on his interim stint, but players absolutely love the guy and he has been doing great for the Rams.
Mostly I’m glad it’s not Belichick. That would have never not been weird and I can continue cursing that man’s name for infinity.

Had to work so unfortunately couldn’t be there, but great opening night for the league.
Nearly a reverse sweep and a fifth set that finished 15-13. Only one uncompetitive set too, that bodes well for competitive balance within in the league.
Play was clearly high-level, and the people I know who were there had great things to say about the atmosphere.
Hopefully the 11k is consistent for attendance. Local broadcast was saying a chunk was grade school classes and youth volleyball teams, so I guess we’ll see.

Agreed wholeheartedly on them needing to have separate logo and team colors.
Pick one of the blues and one of purple/pink and I think it’d be much cleaners.
