I havent heard much lately about MLS possible expansion to Las Vegas, but now there are reports according to the San Diego Union Tribune that a group led by an Egyptian billionaire have been meeting with MLS regularly to bring a team to San Diego and Snapdragon Stadium as soon as 2024 . While California already has the Earthquakes, LAFC and the Galaxy, I think San Diego can work, especially after the Sacramento debacle. Id much rather have San Diego in MLS than Las Vegas.
MLS should give California as many teams as they want. San Diego, Sacramento, Orange County, San Francisco, Inland Empire... :censored: it California could just have its own league.

New navy blue helmets for Fresno State, paired with the navy blue jerseys and pants.
Fresno State should always be in red imo but the navy blue isn’t a bad change of pace. Way better than BFBS.

The CPL is technically the top tier of the football pyramid in Canada, despite the Canadian clubs in MLS (which is sanctioned by the US Soccer Federation). As far as the level of play, though, yeah, I think the USL Championship is a fair comparison.
Interesting. So, the Canadian MLS teams are technically not part of the soccer pyramid in Canada?

Is the CPL the Canadian equivalent to the USL Championship?

Why isn't there currently a team in Quebec City or Nova Scotia? It'd get the league to 10 teams and balance the divisions.

I wonder what the geographic limits of this are. I’ve lived in the West and the Midwest, and USC always meant Southern Cal (as Keith Jackson used to say). Does USC=Gamecocks extend much more beyond the Carolinas?I didn't know South Carolina even went by USC until I started going on CFB Reddit in 2019. It was always SCAR in the NCAA Football video games.
I might be wrong about this, but I don't think USC likes being called Southern Cal despite how iconic Keith Jackson saying it is.
And speaking of university branding changes...
Cal or UC Berkeley? Brand experts contemplate a single name (sfchronicle.com)

Aren't the Smokie's supposed to come back again this year, too?
They already wore them against LSU earlier this year.

Tennessee going all black for Halloween weekend
Initial thoughts... I might like these more than the Smokey Grey's. Hope they just wear these only once a year.
More excited for whenever they bust out that orange helmet though.

Tennessee went with Summit Blue accessories today against UT Martin, I think it looked really good.

eh. I don't mind them. They were based on the tower of learning on their campus. I prefer the previous block numbers since it incorporates the pointed arch more subtly. Also I prefer the yellow numbers with the white outlines because yellow thin outlines on white looks muddy. Also it keeps it more consistent with the helmet logo which is white outlined color script. The throwback is inconsistent with the script on the color since that is yellow instead of white
That's too much design on the number font, the simpler the better. I also don't think logo and number colors/outlines have to be that consistent on a football uniform but hey that's why they're called opinions.

edit: Clemson has worn purple jerseys far more often in recent years than I remember. It seems like whenever I've watched Clemson the last 8 years or so they wore orange but apparently I'm not watching them enough.
I believe they wear purple only once a year

But they look basically the same
I like the gold and navy better. It looks sleek and not as cartoony. If I had to choose between the currents and throwback I will take the current ones because of the colored unique numbers and shade of royal blue
I think the new number font is hideous, it ruins the uniform.

I'm not the biggest fan of Cal's uniforms (the striping and matte blue helmets) but I thought this was an under the radar pretty good looking game.

Michigan announced its Maize Out uniforms. Going monochrome in exactly the color you would expect from that name.
Navy blue.
I miss the days when Michigan only wore yellow pants, at home and on the road. At least last week they got it right.

Damn, that's a real shame.
Hopefully it's Portland not Vegas if the A's do indeed relocate.
