There are some good hardcore fans. Everyone in the community knows who they are.

We'd need a new arena. The Maverik Center is too small and Vivint just isn't a good arena. But, with the city bidding on the 2030/2034 Winter Olympics ... who knows? I'd love to see SLC get a club. Bring back the Golden Eagles.

You just KNOW that they're going to screw this up. The NHL will bypass Quebec and Houston interests to sell them to a group wanting a NHL team in Biloxi, Mississippi because ... SUN BELT!

As hideous as that jersey would be that you described I agree.

Here are some of my thoughts ... 1) I would have much rather had a 100% throwback or reverse retro-esque batch of jerseys. Most of these "mixtape" jerseys are extremely forced and trying too hard to be unique (looking at you Miami with your ransom note and yellow trim). 2) There are some jerseys that I kind of like and IMO could work as an alt (with a tweak or two of course) .. Detroit - I'm more so intrigued with the use of teal on the blue and red. It kind of works. Boston - Nothing offensive about it and I like the name plates on the back. I could see the Celtics keeping a throwback-ish alt. in this style around for a while. Toronto - I am not crazy about the Drake colors, but I love the nod to the Barney jerseys and '19 championship. Minnesota - The two tone colorway kind of ruins it for me, but eliminate that and it would be a Top 10 jersey for me. New York - Get rid of the Nike NYC and MSG logos and I think it works as an alt. Maybe add some blue into there, but I love the simplicity of it. 3) The jerseys that just don't work IMO are ... Atlanta - I hate the two number font look, which don't match with the text fonts at all. No cohesion at all. Houston - I think I would be okay with this if the number was in a different font. I get what it's representing, but it's so jarring ordinary that it kills the jersey for me. Dallas - The Dallas text is too mushed together and small that it really looks like an after thought (which it very well could have been) on that jersey cut and design. San Antonio - The fiesta colorway feels and is waaaay too forced. I feel like it would been better executed on a black jersey as well. Sacramento - The Sactown script, especially that "S" looks really amateur. I also wish the names were under the number on the back. And, where's the baby blue? Charlotte - The hive to pinstripe is supposed to be cool, right? It's just waaaay over designed. And, why isn't there a Bobcats nod? Or am I missing something? Oklahoma City - The design isn't THAT bad. The lack of color would be excusable IF they didn't have that huge ass Love's ad taking front and center! Brooklyn - Maybe I am used to the black and white Brooklyn Nets now, but the R,W,B look feels odd to me. Maybe if the blue was baby blue or royal blue? It just feels dull. 4) As forced as the Miami jersey feels to me, I think it works within the program. It's crazy and out there enough that the mismatched numbers and fonts work. But, just for this year. We don't need to see this return in any shape or form. 5) I am bummed that the Jazz, Pelicans and Suns didn't participate. I think the Pelicans could have done something that nodded to the Jazz and Hornets. I would love to see if there was a Jazz prototype out there. A Jazz note jersey in the '90s colors would have been interesting. 6) I wonder if we're going to see a mashup design of past ASG jerseys? I have a feeling we might. Could be interesting if they decide to mashup past Cleveland ASG designs or ASG designs in general.

I am too. I would have been more than okay if they regulated their City for their Statement Jerseys this year. If anything I think both are better.

I see the point you're trying to make, but I feel like it's still closer to the SD Clippers font than the 76ers. Needless to say, the NBA has never had a good track record with producing accurate throwback jerseys. They either have the wrong font, wrong sized font or placement on the jersey. Some examples ... SIDE NOTE: I betcha the number system on the current Clippers Remix jersey are coming from the saved files of the 2003 throwbacks seen above.

I'm VERY reluctant of the rebranding, but knowing the Note Logo is staying helps it sit better with me. I think it helps knowing Ryan Smith grew up a Jazz fan. But, I can't knock it until I see it.

I agree with most of what you're saying @monkeypower ... and honestly, as a lifelong Jazz fan, I think it's more important to keep the "note logo" than what are the team colors. The note is what connects the past, present and future and that should remain.

It's not suppose to be a straight throwback jersey. It's a "remix" of different design elements from the team's past.

I honestly think it's just a "vintage" thing or the anniversary season.

I think once all is said and done with the unveiling of the "mixtape" jerseys, we'll all have wished teams went with straight forward throwback jerseys like they did 25 years ago.

I think that's why I'm ... okay? ... with it. And, I am in the same boat. I'd have to dig for a reference (which I really feel like doing right now), but from my understanding LHM was content on keeping the purple Jazz note logo, but was kiiiiiinda forced by the league. But, the revenue from a new look was the carrot the league dangled in front of LHM, which for a small market team makes a difference. The same thing happened in 2004 when the team went to navy and baby blue. It was all $$$ and Reebok drive from my understanding. But, that's why you saw the team go back to the note logo shortly before his death and then a return to a more classic color (albeit navy swapped for purple). The team HAS to at least keep the note logo, but I ... think? ... I am okay if the colors change.

JAZZ FANS: FINALLY THE CONVERSATION IS OFF US!

The only expansion I see happening would be poaching UTEP, UTSA and North Texas from CUSA and maybe Tulsa or SMU from the AAC? Where else could they go?

Yeah, I am curious about this too. Will it be just the "Note Logo" or the full "Utah Jazz Logo"? I kind of picture the new logo as something based off the current Utah sunset logo in a roundel (naturally) and the "note logo" as a random secondary logo.

Well and on top of that being in a different city with a different name doesn't help either. But, it would be nice to see the Sixers sport a Nats jersey again.

Granted they kept the navy blue, but they returned to the note logo even before the Canucks and Padres returned to their classic colors.

The NBA has an interesting relationship with the color black. I think it's a great color and one that goes well with mostly any color either as a trim or base color. And, the league tends to lean heavy on wearing the color ... to the point that in the early to mid-2000s the color was banned as a base color for new identities and/or second jerseys. We wouldn't have these jerseys without that policy ... I say embrace the color. It looks good.

I never got this trade proposal. Utah is the Beehive State, based off the honeybee. Hornets aren't bees, they're jerks. I feel like you won't see the Red Rocks Jersey go anywhere. Maybe to a Statement Jersey rather than City, but it fits better within a black, white and yellow set than the current look. I can't be the ONLY Jazz fan who hates the '90s colors? The purple, teal, copper, etc. is just dated. I feel like if I'm sporting those colors I need to own a horse, wear a 10 gallon hat and brag way too much about my belt buckle collection.

Maybe we're switching yellows with the Lakers? At least Lakers fans can only hope.

Honestly, the color change sounds more like the Jazz wanting to keep capitalizing on the sunset/dark mode jerseys. The only thing missing from the color palette is the red and orange. I betcha the Jazz will keep the sunset/dark mode jerseys around in the next set as their Statement jersey so they can experiment more with a City jersey.

I ... I ... don't hate the idea? I just feels like someone took the original purple and decided to play with the shadow and saturation levels until they got to black.
