I doubt it, the US NTDP were using royal helmets so I assume they decided to use for world juniors as well. With Navy uniforms the US will probably stick to white.

A winter classic jersey is a lot different than a home jersey.

I think they're wearing blue helmets full time. I also prefer the blue pants because it helps keep it different from the rangers.

Really liking the direction this year. 

Adidas for the most part has been killing it in college hockey.

Yea I'm not sure they copied the yankees, I'm pretty sure its a throwback logo (which may of originally been modeled off the yankees) but yea they're phasing it out.

Nike has a satin twill options for their numbers that I'm pretty sure the ravens use and possibly the jaguars' used on their numbers. If they could find a way to use that on jerseys would be huge. 

I would fine lifting the rule if it followed the same rules as normal alternates. I am not sure the exact rules but lets just say if it was 3 games top it wouldn't really dilute brands imo.

If they forwent them this round I wouldn't mind. The modern road jerseys at least have gray in the stripes, unlike the homes.

As much as I love the throwback stripes I hope osu goes regular. 0/2 against Clemson in the throwbacks and 0/3 against Clemson in alternate jerseys.

A school like Arizona just really does not match up with the likes of UM, UNC, UF, OU, and UCLA in those categories. 

I would argue none of those teams are the biggest brand in their respective conference.

I always liked how the mens hockey team used the stripe on a scarlet and black background.

That being said I think the ideal move would be for osu to take the helmet stripe and then when you put it on a different back ground the color would swap with grey. Like this :

They much do this except for the scarlet uniform. I would love for this to be a whole department though.

Do we know they're for this week for sure? Yea actually I take back the no alts for the game, using the throwbacks should be a permanent move for the Michigan game.

I'm thinking that its just the regular helmet including leaves. I'm kinda hoping its just the regular white uniform with white pants, I don't want alts for the Michigan game. Maybe silver numbers with scarlet outline?

I've loved their uniforms but they officially jumped the shark for me in 2015. In the past, mixing and matching with so many of their looks tied the colors and finishes all together. With the black jersey for example -- the black, silver, and yellow allowed you to wear a black helmet, yellow helmet, gray helmet, chrome helmet, or even the carbon helmet with that jersey. You could also wear black pants, yellow pants, or gray pants with that jersey. It gave them legitimate options for mixing and matching without looking like they are slapping random pieces together (M&MFM&MS ) or needing to go straight monochrome every week. Each combination looked intentional and I think that separated them from most the pretenders who have tried to emulate them since.

 

 

Their look now is good in its own way, as it was probably time to tone down how busy their previous sets were. While I think Oregon should still be mixing and matching, I don't think all of the new combinations work being mixed and matched all that much due to the simplicity of colors used. Here, the green is the only color on the jersey, but is not visible anywhere else. Yellow is prominent on the helmet and pants, but not on the jersey. Silver is featured on the helmet but is not used elsewhere on any of their uniforms.

 

 

Why even have a helmet with silver wings in this set when silver/gray is no longer used on their jerseys or pants? The wings on the yellow lid should be nightmare green and only worn with the nightmare green, yellow, and those alternate white jerseys. Nightmare green wings (and maybe a matching facemask) would've looked so much better here. 

 

 

I know chrome has been overplayed but I miss the flash of chrome from Oregon. But even when they wear chrome lids now, it doesn't really match any of the combinations due to the lack of gray/silver on all of the uniforms. The helmet worn against Washington is probably my favorite helmet of theirs currently but they don't really have a set to properly wear with it. Wearing it with either white set is their best bet. The Rose Bowl lid almost works with the nightmare green wings but it still looks a bit out of place to me against the dull shade of green. (Nothing flashy about their nightmare green set.) 

 

 

When they piece the uniform together as intended below, it looks great for the most part. The extent of their mixing and matching should be to find their best kelly sets, their best nightmare sets, their best yellow sets, etc. and roll with it.

My main problem with Oregon is that since 2015, maybe 16 they really just haven't looked that good. Oregon is the one team I love changing every week since that's their thing but these uniforms now just look so uninspired and they're repeating combos regularly now. It just feels half-a** now.
