  1. In searching for the UA Padres prototype, I stumbled across this eBay auction for a Westchester Giants jersey. Could it be that the Fabric UA was going to use for the back is being used by Nike for the entire jersey? https://www.ebay.com/itm/313419429172
  2. IDK. The UA Padres prototype that popped up a few years back was some of what I was expecting Nike to do with this template. Particularly the fact that the back fabric didn't match the front. I do, however, continue to believe that certain MLB teams--particularly the one I happen to root for-- would be well-served to adopt a two button jersey. (And given that the Orioles wore a two-button henley-style pullover in 1994, it wouldn't be unprecedented, either.) https://uni-watch.com/2021/03/23/rare-find-an-apparent-under-armour-mlb-prototype-jersey/
  3. 1) Thanks to Sodboy13 for finding a non-paywalled version of the Atlantic story. The link worked for me. The story is worth a read. 2) The sartorial distance between MLS and NASCAR is depressingly small. Lucky for me, I’m not a soccer fan. 3) Given that I’m not a fan of her music, I tend to forget how attractive Katy Perry is. Thanks to adsarebad for the reminder! 4) The photos of that Yankees road jersey makes me think that Nike is using a version of the fabric that was used on the side panels last year…for the entire jersey. I’m sure that’s going to work out just fine!
  4. Unfortunately paywalled, but the Atlantic weighed in on the Nike fiasco today... https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2024/02/mlb-jerseys-nike-fanatics-quality/677512/
  5. I wonder if the two guys on the viewer's left are minor league call-ups. They certainly got a different (and larger) NOB font than the guy on the viewer's right.
  6. Except, those aren't "last year's" game pants. They're All Star Game Pants in the current template. Look at the Phillies photo posted by BBTV for pocket placement on pants in the "old" template.
  7. The jersey looks like a bad replica t-shirt...and WTF is up with the pocket placement on those pants? If I was a player it would infuriate me to a) no longer be able to customize my pants and b) have the pockets be halfway down my ass. That placement is decidedly lower than on the 2023 pants. As once said to a former boss: you never miss something you didn't have...but you take away something people came to expect...they're gonna be very unhappy.
  8. RE: the Angels. I don't mind losing the drop shadow from the back #s. Would like to see it go from the front numbers, as well. (I'd also like to see them use plain block numbers like the Cardinals and Orioles do. The pointy bits do nothing for me.) RE: the Nationals. Even if your number font sucks (and theirs does) not having front numbers on a script-front jersey is a no-no in my book. That team is really striving to find ways in which to make their uniform set look worse.

  11. Looks like the White Sox and Giants are recycling 2023 pants. (Can't imagine they're going to be able to avoid the template versions in the regular season.)
  12. I want to see if they spoiled the Cardinals front numbers like they did the Orioles.
  13. Thank you. That's exactly what I meant.
  14. Maybe, if we get really, really lucky...more players will revolt against this revolting template. I'm not holding my breath, however.
  15. This is the question I was about to ask. I believe read that Fanatics was going to produce the NHL jerseys in the same place Adidas is currently having them made, but hadn't seen anything re: where the MLB game jerseys are being produced for 2024.
  16. Please play the theme from "Jaws" in your mind while reading the next line... Sublimated uniforms are coming to MLB...soon. I once thought this was ten years off, but now believe it will arrive in less than five.
  17. Not yet, anyway...but the pants are part of the "cheaper, simpler" philosophy that seems to rule this set.
  18. IDK. Nike's thing is usually "why have one seam when we can have six?" With the MLB template, though, there's less of everything: narrower placket, simpler belt tunnels (albeit with the odd angles), smaller NOBs, Orioles' front number change, enforced standardization, no venting, no diaper tail. It seems like instead of trying to beat the knockoffs, they're imitating the knockoffs.
  19. Some observations... 1) I know it's just a rendering, but the Phillies NOB seems especially small. 2) The belt tunnels look really bad...but hey, Nike saved $0.25 per pair of pants that way! 3) Aesthetic screw-ups aside, those Dodgers jerseys look really poorly made. I doubt these are going to wear well.
  20. I would have preferred the Orioles used the logo from this hat for the current BP. That I would have bought. Would have bought one of these, but never pulled the trigger because the shade of orange used for these caps was really off to my eye. More "safety vest" orange than Orioles orange. At some point I wish they'd do an "angry bird" cap.
  21. Love that the Orioles' ST cap is all orange. Hate that it's the "O's" logo. Won't be buying it.
  22. I can't give official emojis yet, but here's a little somethin' for ya!
  23. If they're going to do it, that would make some sense. My guess is this winds up as an ST only cap...but I've been wrong before! (Many times daily, if you ask my wife.)
  24. There's so much here that doesn't make sense. That's by no means the "OG" bird. (Unless, of course, you think the team was founded in 1989.) And if this is going to be an in-season alternate cap, what jersey do you pair it with? They already have alternate caps for both black jerseys...and much as I'd like to see it consigned to the ash heap of history, the "O's" cap isn't going anywhere. Do you wear this at home only with the orange jersey only? Inquiring minds and suchnot.
