  1. Well, at least they're boring bad, instead of ghastly bad... When the only orange element on the front of an Orioles jersey is the Nike ad, you've failed. When the most interesting part of the jersey requires the players to cuff their sleeves, you've failed. When you finally give the team a "B" hat and the B is white, you've failed. When you borrow your number font from the NFL, and the one looks almost like a seven, you've failed. When you don't have front numbers on your CC jersey, you're cheap.
  2. Probably my favorite Dodgers jersey ever.
  3. The jersey they wore in 1999 was definitely knit. Used to own one, when I still had a jersey collection. I have pix on Photobucket, but my attempts to "insert image from URL" have all failed. (I wonder if it was because I didn't have enough clout before getting my old account merged into this one. IDK.)
  4. I had an account that was...let's say...inactive at the time this was announced. Mistakenly opened this one. How can I go about fixing that issue?
  5. Look, ma! It's opposite me! Pardon me whilst I go flog my dead horse for a bit.
  6. Fully trim them in the other colors (instead of this awful partial double drop-shadow thing they're doing) and they become much easier to read.
  7. The Cards used to do a one-day special red jersey for "Cardinals Care" day. While it lacked a front number, the white trim on the front logo was thinner. The one I had also featured headspoon and sleeve piping. It was a front number away from glorious.
  8. McCall's probably gonna mind, but here goes... IMO the Orioles made a huge mistake when they went from orange/black/white lettering and numbers to orange/black lettering and numbers on their black alternates. If you're gonna cheap out, why not save even more $ by just going one-layer orange? It's not like anyone can see that black trim layer most of the time. Even going back to orange/white like the 1993-94 alternates would be preferable to what they have now. Hell, black/orange would be better. I'm getting horse dust in my eyes, so I'll stop now.
  9. Not that anybody's gonna be surprised, but I really hate these.
  10. My guess...and it's only a guess...is: "just because it looked 'good' on your monitor doesn't mean it's gonna translate to fabric". See how much better the rendering behind him looks than the jersey lettering itself.
  11. It's my personal dead horse, and I shall flog it until it turns to dust! To dust, I say!
  12. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Sorry, I fell asleep composing my reply. That's some serious sartorial Sominex, there.
  13. Frankly, I didn't mind the Orioles wearing black last night, since (like on Saturday) they coupled it with the regular cap. I wonder if this was a player-driven decision? Anybody else remember the halcyon days when the black jersey had white trim, and pitcher's choice meant you saw it pretty much every time Scott Erickson pitched? Good times. I miss those days.
  14. Updating the Orioles Saturday jerseys adventure before the abomination that will surely be their CC uniform drops... The Orioles have now worn the orange jerseys twice this year. 04-01-23: Orioles in black / Boston in red (R) 04-08-23: Orioles in orange / New York in gray (H) 04-15-13: Orioles in gray / Chicago in white (R) Jackie Robinson Day 04-22-13: Orioles in white / Detroit in gray (H) 04-29-13: Orioles in orange/ Detroit in white (R) First Game 04-29-13: Orioles in black / Detroit in white (R) Second Game (makeup from Friday 04-28-23) 05-06-26: Orioles in black (with bird cap!) / Atlanta in white CC (R)
  15. Is this on both sides? Or just more of the "handedness" bullhockey? As adverts go, it's probably the least offensive so far. Could pass as a memorial patch for an obscure member of ownership. (Posted before reading other comments...was beaten to the "memorial patch" punch.)
  16. I hate that fookin' hat. And frankly, I really miss the white trim on the Orioles script and numbers on the black jerseys. That jersey peaked in 1999. https://goldinauctions.com/1999_Cal_Ripken_Jr_Baltimore_Orioles_Game_Used_Alt-LOT96150.aspx
  17. I had started wondering about it when they broke out the whites this Saturday, so I went back and looked it up. (Went to Orioles.com, selected "schedule" and clicked on each of the Saturday games. It brought up photos/video.)
  18. Still an abomination, but at least it now makes sense in terms of proportions and color scheme.
  19. I'm going to assume (based on the neck tag) that this is a retail jersey. Placket seems very narrow and fabric doesn't appear to be flex base.
  20. The Orioles have worn the orange jerseys once this year. It's a Saturday only jersey. The only real outlier on the schedule is last Saturday, when they didn't wear them at home. Otherwise, it's been a fairly standard run (I think Boston asks that the Orioles not wear orange when the Red Sox wear red, and 04-15 was JRD). 04-01-23: Orioles in black / Boston in red (R) 04-08-23: Orioles in orange / New York in gray (H) 04-15-13: Orioles in gray / Chicago in white (R) Jackie Robinson Day 04-22-13: Orioles in white / Detroit in gray (H)
  21. I've read they're quite good to have in your yard. In your ceiling? Eh, not so much. https://www.humanesociety.org/resources/what-do-about-opossums
  22. Would still vastly prefer outlined numbers to a drop shadow, but this doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out...and for a CC jersey, that's saying something!
  23. Ooooh! All the things I luv L-U-V about current uniform design! Unnecessarily complicated numbers with drop shadows! A hard to read NOB font! Can't wait for the front! (Not.)
