I can see where you're coming from, but the classic block letters are just so much better than the Vikings current number font. The Vikings just need to replace their number font with something less gimmicky and their uniforms are exponentially better.

The reason for that is that we'd like that to become the regular look, rather than being limited to throwback status.

I think that's because the 49ers regular look already looks like a throwback, so it's an easy way to have a throwback matchup without coordinating with the opponent.

What is going on with the photoshoot Marchand was doing earlier? No ad and the regular logo is still on the front.

The other weird thing about this is that no one has ever heard of this insurance company. How did they end up bagging the jersey advertising rights for the Yankees?  Surely the Yankees could have chosen a more prestigious advertiser.

Also gotta give this matchup some love -- looks great at both venues

Yeah I thought about that as well. I figured they would wear yellow pants at home against the Niners since that's the only combo with their currents uniforms in which they've actually beat the Niners, and I figured they would wear yellow pants on the road after being destroyed twice at Levi's in blue pants

This is a disgrace to anything and everything that this site, that uniform aesthetics has ever stood for. The most mythical, timeless, untouchable jersey in sports (literally not updated in almost a century) now has a ing ad patch.

I wish some of these teams that release throwbacks from the 80s would take the shorter jersey cuts of today into account and place the numbers on the shoulders instead of having tiny sleeve numbers (the Giants also have this issue). Also, selling Brady creamsicles is dumb when he never wore them.

Other than that, this uniform looks beautiful.

Yeah you're probably right, the Cowboys will probably wear their regular white (home? road? I don't know its official designation) jersey. I still predict the Niners wear their alts in that game though -- their first red alt game the last two seasons has been an early season primetime game

I think they'll use the red alts on SNF against the Cowboys and in a day game in the middle of the season -- my guess is against a high profile opponent in the Bengals. With the Seahawks wearing green on Thanksgiving, I'll be shocked if they don't wear the white alts in Seattle again this year. Other than that it should be pretty standard.

Edit: Yeah we're unlikely to see two alts on SNF
