  1. Dude, I don't know what I can say about this series that everyone else hasn't already. Awesome execution, incredible depth of thought, one of the best series I've ever seen here. Most of these concepts and designs are total hits. Just like a real league, there are some misses, especially when you put big logos or elements in contrast to the main jersey (Miami and not-Hollywood LA come to mind), where I think subtlety would work better. But overall, this series is so awesome it defies belief. Someone smart at video game modding should mod the most recent FIFA game to incorporate this league. Then we could all take control of our local team and lead them to US Premier League glory! An England-style soccer league in the US is obviously a stretch, but this concept series really makes it seem plausible. I think going on to the next two leagues would basically send most of us into excitement overload. I'm hoping my hometown shows up in one of them. (Annapolis Admirals FC!!!) Absolutely awesome work. Please, never stop.
  2. That tool is pretty neat, but it doesn't quite do what I'm looking for. In the jersey I posted, you can see that the blue bars at the top of the jersey are pretty close together, but by the time they reach the bottom of the jersey, they're much farther apart. The blend tool does some cool stuff, but in the end, everything is equidistant... I'm looking for that gradually increasing interval. Thanks for the help! Try starting with two identical lines, and place them apart a little ways. Make one have a thick stroke, like say 10 pt or so. Then make the other smaller, about .5 pt. Then after you make the blend, go back to object > blend > blend options and choose specified steps. Choose a fairly high number of steps, and I think you will get the effect you're looking for. Nailed it. At first I tried to make the blue stripes the blend, then I realized that with the blend tool, I could set the interval, the light blue stripes, and put it over the solid blue and presto! Nice call, cab, thanks! Anyone know of a protractor/angle measurement tool or is that just a pipe dream?

  4. Hey guys, I'm trying to get an "object gradient" sort of effect. Check out the Spain soccer jerseys to see what I mean: See how the stripes in the sash start close together and then gradually get farther apart? That's what Id' like to do. Obviously the hard way to do this is to manually distribute the objects at different distances, but that would take forever on something like this shirt. Is there a way to get Illustrator to arrange objects with varying amounts of separation? Separate question, is there a way to measure angles in Illustrator? A protractor tool would be awesome, you could find the angle of an object that's already skewed or rotated, and then adjust what you're drawing to match. Anyone know of something like that?
  5. Hey team, Question, is there a way to specifiy the size of a photo you post in a topic? What I mean is, say I have a photo to post that's 1200 x 800, but when I post it in the forum, I want it to be smaller. Can I do something with the forum's code to specify the size? Something like: http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/html/image-tag.html. The obvious solution is to resizemy picture in illustrator, resave it, and reupload it at the new size, but that's a lot of work. Any help? Thanks!
  6. Dislikes: BiG logo (although from the tone of this thread, maybe liking the BiG logo is becoming the minority view) Expos logo Johnny Canuck (it's okay, not great) Powder blue away uniforms Padres brown and yellow color scheme Pat Patriot Nordiques igloo Pullover baseball jerseys Likes: Canucks whale logo (though I liked the maroon and light blue better than what they have now) Padres sand color (in the logo set and as an accent, not so much as a color for a jersey) Flying Elvis Orioles "O's" cap logo
  7. So in one of my files, I'm trying to use the convert anchor tool to move some handles and paths around. When I click on a handle to move it, it tells me I need to click on an anchor point to convert an anchor. It also doesn't highlight paths and anchors when I mouse over them like it does in other files. I though maybe I'd clicked some weird option while trying to do something else (I habitually press ctrl-H when I mean to hit ctrl-J, so I hide my anchors pretty frequently, but this doesn't seem to be the case). I have smart guides set up, but it doesn't seem to matter, something is off with this file. Thanks for the help. EDIT: Fixed. I hit the old ctrl-", snap to grid. Hooray for me.
  8. This jersey in XL, blank. I have one but got all these black spots on it while cleaning my grill (cooking, not biting), it made me sad and even the delicious steaks I made couldn't cheer me up.
  9. Okay, so I'm trying to arc an object (it happens to be text that I've outlined as objects), and when I do, it applies the arc but all of the points are left in their original arrangement, i.e. the appearance changes, but the shapes themselves don't change. Unfortunately, I don't want the original shape to remain, I want the arced object to be the actual shape now. Here the arc is applied but the shape is basically unchanged. When I try to outline the stroke on the warped object, nothing happens. The weird thing is, I already accomplished what I wanted to do on another object. I made the letters into a compound shape, applied the arc and outlined the stroke to get the effect I wanted. I can't figure out for the life of me why it worked for me once, but doesn't work in the second instance. Anyone with some insight?
  10. Any takers on this one? It's the font on the fuel tank that reads "Sidewinders." Thanks! (BTW, I doubt I need to mention it, but a free font would be best!)
  11. Can anyone ID this one: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_21gLFIOxs2Q/SkJe...s320/VFA-41.gif I found a font that kinda looks like it, Goudy Heavy, but if there's a free version out there I'd love to get it. Thanks!
