The key is that I want Dallas to keep their spot in the NFC East. And for Baltimore to keep their rivalry with Pittsburgh in the AFC.

Yeah that is the tricky part of making these realignments, if you make it too purely geographical you risk breaking up historical rivalries

I usually put notes to add context to mine lol

Don't worry, your assistant GM and starting QB will bring in Aaron Jones (good move) and David Bakhtiari (potentially not good move).  I couldn't resist after seeing this on X earlier today.

Wow. Talk about a what could've been 2004 BCS title game matchup. USC vs Auburn it would have been great to look. USC vs Oklahoma was also nice

But the Red and Yellow vs Blue and Orange would have been hard to resist

I hate investing $$$ into running backs.  The Eagles are not a dumb team - in fact, they're a pretty smart team - but this signing is very much against their entire philosophy.  Kellen Moore must have lobbied hard for Barkley, but regardless, even though there's been rumors for weeks, I'm still shocked they paid money for a running back.

Also - who is Bryce Huff?  Am I under a rock that I haven't heard of this guy?  People are jerking off all over each other over this guy.

Yeah you got a good one Vet. Huff is a beast and I am disappointed in Joe Douglas that he could not bring him back to the Jets

I agree that the alarm clock numbers were a huge issue, but I also really did not like the "pewter" shoulders on that Bucs design.  For me, when you try to do pewter in a non-metallic material like jerseys or pants it just comes out looking like a muddy grey, like dirty dish water.  Some colors just don't work if you don't have the metallic finish (dazzle fabric).  I point to the current UFL Stallions and Panthers.  Without a metallic sheen champagne and Stallion gold just turn into khaki, and khaki rarely works as a good uniform color.

I do not even mind that part of the jersey (wow I really softened up on those jerseys, I used to think those were some of the worst jerseys ever but the alarm clock numbers are still an abomination) but yeah I could still see why people did not like it either, I like the pewter when it looks silver and not a weird murky brownish color

OK, a major drop as I completed the three remaining NFC south teams over the weekend.  Most needed only minor tweaks.  Only Atlanta was a major overhaul.  So, we will start with the minor adjustments and then hit the Falcons.

    NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

    spacer.png

    NOTES

    1. Back to gold pants as the norm, and stripes on pants as the requirement.

    2. Gold lettering, but i stuck with the lighter, more modern gold.

    3. Brought back the Louisiana Fleur De Lis secondary as a chest patch.

    4. Added numbers to the pants just to try something a bit different.

    5. Went for a black over black alternate even though I generally don't like unitards.  Striping helps.

    6. Revived the old shield logo and use it at the base of the helmet stripe.

    TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

    spacer.png

    NOTES

    1. Pretty much their current jerseys/pants but with a new number font.

    2. Decided to remove the flag from the logo and just go with the skull & crossbones.

    3. Tried out a few alts, but ended up just ensuring that they have a Bucco Bruce creamsicle option.  Generally I am assuming that all teams have a throwback look, so my alt uni is not that, but with Tampa Bay, the throwback is so essential that I thought it was the only alt uni they needed.

    ATLANTA FALCONS

    spacer.png

    NOTES:

    1. I know a lot of folks want a straight-up throwback look, but I generally don't.  Not for Atlanta.  So, I tried to merge some elements of older looks with some new elements.

    2. The helmet works for me as black on black.  Saving the red option for the alt look.

    3. Decided a version of what the NY Jets currently do works better for the Falcons, and I like it more than the side panel stripes on the current jersey.

    4. With Atlanta, it is more about taking away bad elements (oversized ATL on front, side panels, ombre jersey, etc.) and going with a more basic but still modern take on a red jersey and silver pants (or black).

    5. The Alt is again not a pure throwback, but includes a bit of a mix of old and new in the helmet, then just a black alternate jersey and a white pant set.  I could see the Falcons combining these looks in lots of ways (Red helmet w. red jersey and silver pants, all black alt, black jersey and helmet with silver pants, etc.).

So, there you go, the entire NFC South is done, as is the NFC West.  Next up is likely the NFC East.

If the Bucs actually used that number font in 2014 instead of the alarm clock monstrosity the jerseys would not have been too bad

    Crazy thought experiment time...

In my perfect world, the NCAA Tournament would only have 32 teams in it, and all would be conference champions.

In this example, this is how the tournament would work:

    South Region

    (8) Norfolk State (MEAC) vs. (1) Houston (Big XII)

    (5) High Point (Big South) vs. (4) Grand Canyon (WAC)

    (6) Oakland (Horizon League) vs. (3) Samford (Southern)

    (7) Eastern Kentucky (ASUN) vs. (2) Richmond (Atlantic 10)

    East Region

    (8) Merrimack (NEC) vs. (1) Purdue (Big Ten)

    (5) College of Charleston (CAA) vs. (4) Vermont (America East)

    (6) Quinnipiac (MAAC) vs. (3) Princeton (Ivy League)

    (7) Morehead State (Ohio Valley) vs. (2) Connecticut (Big East)

    North Region

    (8) Colgate (Patriot League) vs. (1) Tennessee (SEC)

    (5) Sam Houston State (Conference USA) vs. (4) St. Mary's (WCC)

    (6) Toledo (Mid-American) vs. (3) Indiana State (Missouri Valley)

    (7) McNeese State (Southland) vs. (2) North Carolina (ACC)

    West Region

    (8) Grambling (SWAC) vs. (1) Utah State (Mountain West)

    (5) Appalachian State (Sun Belt) vs. (4) UC Irvine (Big West)

    (6) Eastern Washington (Big Sky) vs. (3) South Florida (American)

    (7) South Dakota State (Summit) vs. (2) Arizona (Pac-12)

TV wise, the four network system will still be in use. Now, each network gets their own region - meaning that they get seven games over a weekend to broadcast. CBS and TBS still has rotating Final Four duties.

The NIT is also 32 teams, but it is only open to schools in Top 16 in terms of conference RPI. For this season, the following conferences are allowed to send two teams to the NIT:

Big XII, SEC, Big Ten, Mountain West, ACC, Big East, Pac-12, Atlantic 10, Missouri Valley, American, Ivy League, Southern, West Coast, WAC, America East and Big West.

The remaining 16 conferences are then allowed to send teams to the CBI and CIT, with the second placed teams going to the CBI and third placed teams going to the CIT.

Good idea in a vacuum, nothing but champions but as McCall said it would be ratings suicide, and a whole bunch of people would get fired from NCAA as soon as the announcement of the format is done

Under the 4-division format per conference, would it make sense for Columbus to be in the NHL East's Mid-Atlantic, Chicago in the NHL West's Midwest, and Buffalo in the NHL East's Great Lakes Divisions?

I definitely considered those but ultimately I decided not to break up the Eastern Canadian & any more of the O6 rivalries any further (I did separate the Bruins from the Leafs and Habs so they can face teams in the Boston to Philadelphia corridor more), and brought back another O6 rivalry (NYR vs BOS)
