Yeah I found the FAQ. 100 posts. That's a lot especially considering I'm coming here looking to commission someone. Thank you!

No hard feelings if you decide not to, but if you want you can PM me about that. I might be interested.

Speaking of “What if…/Into the -verse” ideas.

It’d be cool to see someone tackle the NFL a la @MJD7 style

    • What if… Seattle got the Kings?

    • What if… St Louis & Memphis got teams instead of Charlotte & Jacksonville?

    • What if… the Colts stayed in Baltimore (and got Ravens-esque uniforms in the 90s)?

    • What if the Washington Football franchise stayed in Boston?

That would be cool to see, too!

Is there a requests topic somewhere?

I think it takes a certain number of posts to get access to it (I see you haven't posted that many times) but within the 'Sports Logos' section of this Forum there is a Requests board for making requests.

  3. I think it looks the most 'tiger stripe' if you have some stripes coming down from the top of the letter and some coming up from the bottom. Like, if you did it similar to the bottom right one but with a fewer number of stripes like the top one, that might work best for the concept.  Making it Ohio-shaped is a bit of a shot across the bow of the Browns, but heck it's a rivalry, so why not let them be a bit petty, lol.

  4. I'm considering jumping into the "Into the ___-Verse" waters with a Milwaukee themed series. I did something similar several years ago, but was on a much smaller scale ("What if the Bucks expanded their brand to other leagues?" basically) but it was only logos for about 5-6 concepts. This one would remove the Bucks branding constraint (not completely though) and I want to try to go beyond the logos and add uniforms, helmets, etc. I'll need to find some uniform templates for this so it won't be something I do quickly but I am also trying to think of some scenarios. I do want them to have some level of plausibility (so no moving the Yankees to Milwaukee, lol) but am willing to suspend disbelief to some degree.

Here's what I got so far, does anyone have any ideas I may not have thought of?

What if... the Bucks started a team in the ____? (this is basically the redo of my past project)

    • Indoor Football League? - prev. used the name Staghorns
    • Major League Rugby?  - prev. used the name White Harts
    • National Hockey League? - prev. used the name Comets
    • National LaCrosse League?  - prev. used the name Blaze
    • Women's National Basketball Association?  - prev. used the name Does

    Baseball

    • What if... Milwaukee's first NL Team survived?
    • What if... the AA Brewers bought the AAGPBL Chicks?
    • What if... Milwaukee kept the Braves?

    Basketball

    • What if... the Hawks stayed in Milwaukee?
    • What if... the Does join the WNBA without the Bucks' help?

    Football

    • What if... the Packers permanently moved to Milwaukee?
    • What if... the Badgers survived?
    • What if... UW-Milwaukee kept its football team?
    • What if... AFL vers.3.0 revived the Mustangs?

    Hockey

    • What if...the NHL came to Milwaukee in 1990? - a chance to do a very 90's expansion team concept
    • What if...the Coyotes chose to come to Milwaukee? - would keep the name but change the logo/uniforms to better fit the region.

    Soccer

    • What if... one of my 'Name the Team' submissions for their USL-Championship team win? (I submitted two names- Cream City FC and Smelting MKE)
  5. I get that many would say to never change the Bears logo, but if one were to, I think the way you did incorporating their striping pattern into it is a great way to go! It feels very Chicago Bears to me. Like many others I am down with the Chicago flag motif and it looks great on that uniform template.

  6. Thanks to those who looked and reacted to what I posted thus far. The time between Packers' picks in the draft has let me finish up the uniforms for the team, as well as a new template I wanted to try out. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

    Brand-Sheet-Washington-Insiders.png

I kept a consistent template for the home, away and alternate uniforms with the stripes and the stars from the DC flag as the main imagery the uniform is based around. Northwestern's jerseys from a couple years ago were the main inspiration for the jerseys here, though I did not like them actually going behind the numbers so I cut the stripes off before they get to the numbers on mine. The sleeves have a textless version of the primary on the sleeves, and the pants have the secondary logo in the middle of the stripes.

I imagined that the "throwbacks" as a de-evolution of the modern home uniforms. The throwback helmet would have the player number on each side in lieu of TV numbers on the jersey and is modeled on the helmet in the fauxback logo. I experimented with some of the trendy things like a pentagon or star texture pattern in the numbers but just didn't like how it looks too much. Hope you all like them!

At least it adds some variety to the AFL helmets this year to do the wings instead of a logo... I honestly don't mind the design of the wings themselves, the flames inside them is a solid touch I think, but I'm not sure what's going on with that center stripe. It neither appears flame-like or bird-like to me.

  8. So I have a team I named the Washington Insiders in a simulation-based fantasy league for indoor football, and found myself motivated to update my team's logo, and it ended up becoming a whole thing, lol. I only made fairly minor updates to the primary logo and helmet incorporating some techniques and knowledge I've gained the past few years, but I also ended up making a couple new secondary logos and a wordmark to go with them, and am now working on a uniform design haha. I figured I'd share what I did to see what people here may think. C&C is always appreciated.

Old Primary Logo - The general concept of the logo is based on the DC flag inside of a Pentagon, with an outline of the western DC border framed in the background. The marks along the top-right edge are a reference to a football's laces. I put 5 of them to match the 5 sides of a pentagon. The colors were maintained from what my team's identity was before becoming the Insiders, with some tweaks to the shading over the years.

    Washington-Insiders-Primary-Logo-2021-60

Updated Primary - As you can see, I updated the font, switched to a lighter and more vibrant shade of green, and added a slight gradient effect to the gold elements. I also slightly changed the "laces" along the top-right edge to be more obelisk shaped. The logo also works without the text in the stripes, which will likely make an appearance on the uniforms when done.

    Washington-Insiders-2024-Logo-600w.png

Secondary Logo - This secondary promotes the DC map outline from a pure background feature to a primary source of the shape of the logo, while the stars and stripes move inside the football that the laces on the primary hint at. The gold gradient is continued here.

    Washington-Insiders-2024-Secondary-Logo-

Wordmark - The wordmark pulls out the team name from the primary, and gives it a gradiented gold outline and then the navy blue on the outside. The city and nickname are divided by the DC flag stripes (angled on the ends like the secondary logo) with the stars over the top. I initially tried to have the stars outlined with a gold fill like the stripes, but it just didn't work for the size I wanted on the stars and this way it keeps a better color balance I think.

    Washington-Insiders-2024-Wordmark-600w.p

Fauxback Logo - I had fun coming up with this, trying to envision what logo the team could've had if it existed in the Pre-Superbowl days basically. I'll admit that I heavily based it off some old public domain political cartoons and stuff to make it so it's not as original of a work as the others, but it was just for fun.

    Washington-Insiders-2024-Fauxback-Logo-6

Helmet - This is the design I've used since the team became the Insiders, with the recent updates just being to the shades of green and more metallic-style gold. The flag stripes would wrap completely around the helmet and the green map outlines on each side meet at the top with no center stripe. I experimented with a gold visor but just didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

    Washington-Insiders-2024-Helmet-600w.png

Well, there's everything I have for the Insiders so far; hope you all like it. I've got a rough idea of how I want the uniforms to look but still deciding on a couple things. I'm drawing some inspiration from the Northwestern football uniforms with the stripes under the numbers (not exactly like that, but similar) but I am open to suggestions. They'll likely also be posted on here when the time comes now that I've shared these.  Thanks to everyone who takes the time to look, react and/or comment!

  9. Looks like there's a new crest for the club RKC Third Coast. They are using the same crest for their teams in the USL-2, USL-W, USL-Academy, and USL-Youth leagues. I like the thought that went into this new design and it's a strong color combination.

  10. I'm always up for a good dinosaur-theme concept and that Raptor one certainly applies! I had done one in the past for a football concept and am wishing I had thought of some of the things you did in yours. I also am really liking the Yetis and the Loons designs, they may fit better than Raptors for a chockey team specifically. That Loons logo is awesome and I love how you incorporated the mountain motif into the Yetis uniforms. The Grizzlies one is not bad in my view, but not on the same level as the other three.

  11. So something that gives some hope for more variety in helmet colors, etc... apparently the Minnesota Myth announced this as the official helmet design for the season. The pics of their uniforms had previously shown them with a black helmet. Between this and the pics of Washington using purple helmets in practice, it's possible the company that took those promo pics for the uniforms was just using the helmets they had available and not the actual ones the teams plan to use.

  12. Y'all are going to be shocked to see the helmet color chosen by the Washington Wolfpack... /s

Issues pointed out about the numbers and repeated color choices aside, this is not too bad. They could have had a much more unique helmet with their color scheme which is a disappointment in my view, but I'm guessing the teams are getting some sort of discount to use more basic colors in a larger quantity or something like that.

It’s the number font and treatment that are a big turn-off for me. That “bubble” effect where the outline is rounded on a “sharp” font just reminds me too much of the concepts forum, where someone is using Photoshop for the first time. While the Vikings used it on their jerseys for several years, it just looks unprofessional to me. Sorry!

Thank you! I'd been trying to articulate why they feel off to me but was struggling, but you nailed it. Either round off the numbers or keep sharp corners, but the outline and the numbers should definitely match in that regard.

Another poster did mention that the game jerseys (at least some) should have some changes to how the numbers look so I'm optimistic what we see on Week 1 will look better, and some of these I honestly do not mind in most other aspects of their design.

  14. Loving the ingenuity of combining the Texans current aesthetic with the space theme that fits Houston well! The only thing I'd maybe play around with to tweak it would be possibly lowering the rocket; it kind of reads as a 3rd horn to me which I know a bull wouldn't have so I'm wondering if it being a bit lower would lessen that. I also like the font to go with it. Overall, well done!

Thank you!! It’s a simple design for the flag, so it was pretty easy to move to a sweater!

And I believe that they usually get in touch with people through social media, but they do also have an email you could send to them. I think they usually see a project that they like, and then they reach out.

I posted this design on Twitter/X, tagging an account that’s been following the Minnesota Flag change. They shared it around and someone else commented that Olive and York should make these, so they DM’d me and wanted to get started which was awesome!

Thanks for sharing! That's good to know. Honestly outside of this site I've never made much of an effort to share my work (though I did have a soccer logo/kit design pop up in the wild on Reddit once which I thought was cool) but I may need to consider putting in more effort there down the road if I ever come up with something I think is strong enough to warrant it.

  16. I'm a fan of the design! I like what they came up with for the flag and this does a good job imo of translating the elements from the flag to the sweater.

Question... So I've seen a couple times now where people on this site have posted this site for having their designs produced and am curious... did you just email them to propose making the design or do they have a space for submitting designs for possible production?

I wonder what will happen if you go to a frisbee game with a dog with you

You'll both have a great time! LOL. As a Madison Radicals fan I'd echo Ferdinand's sentiments, the sport can really be a joy to watch with high level players.

They didn't announce the terms of the deal, but it does sound like they licensed "frisbee" from Wham-O on a long term basis. As part of the deal they'll also be able to use the 'Frisbee' brand on the disc they are developing for league use this year (they bought a company that makes them) and are aiming to distribute it to stores next year.

Thought I'd also share the logo they just announced for 2024 Championship which is being hosted by Salt Lake City. I couldn't find a pure pic of the logo, so I used this one from the website.

    CW2024_Header.jpg

Given the generic nature of the annual Superbowl logo, etc., I thought they did a nice job designing this in a way that reflects the host city well.  Kind of on the busy side, I'd have maybe tried to put some of the text outside of the circle to make it easier to read, but it could definitely be worse.

  18. Thought I'd share a rebranding for the former American Ultimate Disc League, which after getting the rights to use the term 'Frisbee' is now rebranding as the Ultimate Frisbee Association. Here's a link to their page with all of the variations of the new logo, but I posted the most comprehensive graphic for the new look here:

    UFAIconStacked.png

Here's the old league logo for reference (they had a shield logo but seem to have veered away from it the past couple years in favor of this wordmark):

    AUDL%20logo%20No%20PB.png

I didn't see any post in the forum for logo changes related to semi-pro Ultimate so if any others come along this thread could turn into that, but for now we got this new logo to look at and discuss. Overall I'm still getting used to the new name but I like the updated logo; it feels more 'big league' to me with the silhouette , which I know is their goal, and I do like how the colors work together. I also think they did a good job of representing a rotating frisbee in the design.

Doesn't quite work for me, looks more like C than a G. Perhaps an O in the middle instead of the state outline.

That's definitely a fair criticism. I think Texas' shape and Houston's location for placing the star are what really let the logo work as it is.  Canton being further north and the straight vertical border made trying to form that G shape much more difficult.

Lifelong Ohioan - we've got a few casinos scattered across the state, mostly in the metro areas, but nothing that stands-out. Online sports gambling was just approved back in January, and you couldn't go five seconds without hearing an ad from DraftKings, MGM, FanDuel, etc. (I know they're bad nationwide, but they were promoting this back in November too hyping-up the ability to bet on... Browns games... *shudders*)

That's good to know for future reference. I'd read about a history of gambling riverboats along the Ohio River so that was the regional connection in my thought process, but as someone who has merely driven through Ohio a few times in my life, I have to admit I do not have much knowledge on the cultural impact of riverboat gambling in the state (if any).
