Perhaps because they already have an alt logo and a variation or two on their primary, but still. I think the way they use their TML on the shoulder and the leaf on the chest is the best. It may look a bit boring, but for every Minnesota Wild/Atlanta Thrashers type we modernists are allowed, the traditionalists should be allowed their Maple Leafs.One note that is merely cosmetic: I think it would look best if the vertical axis of the shoulder leaf lay along the line connecting the collar and the cuff.
