The Olympic gear market is open

All this was easier in Atlanta in 1996. One of the Athletes Villages there was at Emory University near the Varsity Drive-In, and the Olympians opened up a veritable flea market in a parking lot at the end of the Games.

My dad drove buses around in Atlanta at the Olympics, fans I'm pretty sure. He had this nameplate that just had his name, and a clip art picture of a bus on it. Nothing olympics on it at all...

Well he only had one and people were offering him money for it!!! He had to have one to drive, so there wasn't anythign he could do...but INSANE!

We still have a few cool things though. Nothing from athletes unfortunatly. But there's a big Coca-Cola table with the top shaped like a bottle cap that has Olympic logos on it. And then he got a bunch of pens, and this little packet from the opening ceremonies that someone left on his bus.
