I have no idea how to post a link to a single tweet once a thread has been made (if someone could help me, I'd appreciate it) but the main thing is the gif in the first one that shows the evolution of the wordmark over the years.

Hate it, all those years the letter forms were the same with evolution.

Now the P & I are completely different, just comes off as a desperate move from a dying industry.

I believe it was done to make better social media icons.  The old ones, while better, didn't necessarily make for the best avatars or scalable reproduction.

Well just the newspaper industry though I guess they have found their footing lately.

I understand it was for social media icons, and that people may think the I is a J when viewed on its own.

Still a shame to see.
