philly97flyer Posted May 28, 2003 Posted May 28, 2003 i just realied that the Cubs batting practice jerseys and hats are navy blue instead of the regular royal blue. the bear in the logo remains royal, but everything else that was is now navy. i know the rest of their uniforms and hats are still royal, but can anyone tell me why they made this change? there are too many navy and red teams in major league baseball as it is.
Cianfrocco Posted May 29, 2003 Posted May 29, 2003 Historically, the Cubs have worn navy before, back in the 30s and 40s. They played it off as a "retro" move, which isn't bad or anything, but I don't like having two almost identical colors. Especially during Spring Training games when they wore the royal helmets with navy jerseys. That just didn't look right.
